8 Passengers: Emotional Abuse Galore & Making Kids Sleep on The Floor | Part 17
Re: 8 Passengers: Emotional Abuse Galore & Making Kids Sleep on The Floor | Part 17
Can someone explain why Utah makes their windows like this? I've seen quite a few Utah bloggers with their windowells built like that. Ruby even said flooding is quite common in them. It seems so dangerous. Also this video was so over the top. Yes it flooded but no where near bad enough to kill anyone. Even if the glass shattered and landed on a child, it would be highly unlikely to kill anyone. Ruby was so dramatic. And the way she shoves a camera in her childrens face and basically demands some sort of emotional reaction. Chad is clearly over it, he was ready to peace out. I also think Ruby capitalized on this situation to show how much she cares and loves her children . She had to rush inside to find Chad to make sure he was okay.

I would love to know how to make this bread. What exactly did she do wrong??destroyedbythesun wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 11:25 pm I watched today's vlog and as an avid baker this was painful to watch. Shari was so annoying in the vlog! Ruby was drama queen through the whole deal! Ruby did for the first time allude to the controversy. The kids swapped the conversation pretty quickly.

This is the recipe I use. It takes a couple of days but it is yummy.

It's called karma, Ruby. Your repeated mistreatment and neglect of your children is coming back to bite you in the butt, especially when it comes to Chad. You could help matters by not only replacing his mattress, but getting him some sort of bedframe so it's off the floor, just in case there's a repeat of the flooding.

I was kinda thinking the same kinda thing... and wondering if with the renovations that will have to be done, because of the floors being all nasty and chance of mold.. if something will change in the basement layout.Parktown wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 9:22 am I will say disclaimer here but she got the insurance company for new cabinets in the old house could she possibly doing these things to cash in on insurance! I can’t know for sure could the whole thing be nicely staged!? She definitely has home insurance what are the chances that she is constantly causing major disasters? Sounds fishy but of course can’t know for sure?
Also, I wonder now that Ruby is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy and relieved that Chad is alright, if she will give him a bed and furniture and such, and treat him like a human?

Not holding my breathe on that, but for the moment, where will Chad and Russell be sleeping, especially Chad, until the basement is restored to a livable condition? Didn't sound like Russell's room was too badly damaged, but Chad is now back to being bed-less.ThisIsMeCeej wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 2:46 pmI was kinda thinking the same kinda thing... and wondering if with the renovations that will have to be done, because of the floors being all nasty and chance of mold.. if something will change in the basement layout.Parktown wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 9:22 am I will say disclaimer here but she got the insurance company for new cabinets in the old house could she possibly doing these things to cash in on insurance! This reaction just highlights to me how mentally unstable she is most of the time. You can see that Kevin has just completely checked out and that the kids now feel the need to provide Ruby with constant reassurance and 'parent' her. I have often felt that Ruby has a mental and cognitive age of around 14 -16 and has never really developed past that. I would NEVER allow an adult who behaves like her around my kids for their own safety.

Re: 8 Passengers: Emotional Abuse Galore & Making Kids Sleep on The Floor | Part 17
When ruby began, she was using a 1 cup flour to 1 cup water ratio. It needs to be a 1:1 ratio by weight because flour and water weigh differently. She never stated but it needs to an unbleached flour. Starting off with a white flour will take longer for the yeast to grow. This will take about 7-14 days. The water also needs to be filtered. Ruby’s starter was way too loose. It should be more of a very thick batter. When making the bread, she didn’t hydrate the flour with water ahead of adding the starter. She never mentioned rising the starter before adding it, so the yeast is at its peak. Ruby added salt right away to the dough mixture which would stop or slow down the fermentation. Salt should be added later. She never mentions folding over the course of hours before proofing in the refrigerator. Judging the dough, the next day I can tell she added way too much flour. Her biggest mistake is not baking it in a dutch oven that is already hot. She greases and flours the pot which it pointless. It should be preheated with nothing added to it. This why her bread has no color.Liz_444 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 11:15 amI would love to know how to make this bread. He still doesn’t have a bed or ANY furniture? What the heck? I hope these kids sue their parents when they get older.

The flood video is....weird. I’m not saying Ruby shouldn’t have been upset at all, but Ruby’s emotions always seem so off compared to how other people would react to something. I’m not even saying that she is faking it, but she does always come across very unnatural. Does anyone remember that sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun, where these aliens come to live earth in human form? That’s what Ruby reminds me of, it always seems like she’s trying to figure out how human emotions work. Lol

Ellie is the same way. She said Finn Lanning's birth video was "funny". Birth trauma and an urgent c-section? And she waits to post about emotional topics until other people do, like she is trying to see what she should say.mix10 wrote:The flood video is....weird. looks like chad might have a door on his room. Probably CPS made them put it back but probably has to stay open, but looks like he no longer has his lights.

Re: 8 Passengers: Emotional Abuse Galore & Making Kids Sleep on The Floor | Part 17
Did they ever explain why Chad and Russell are sleeping in the basement anyways? Is it because Ruby had to take the upstairs rooms for her failed clothing brand, her office, her life coaching room, or whatever else she had to have her rooms for? If they didn't have enough rooms upstairs I could see it, but if she really did put her kids in the basement so that she could have the upstairs rooms that's just plain selfish. Yes, it's a finished basement and the rooms look nice, but if I had kids I'd want them all on the same floor as me. There's just too many risks in the basement of flooding, fire, etc. Chad has probably already been exposed to mold since his room was already flooded before because Ruby left the water running.
And, seriously, when are they going to get those kids bedframes???? Chad's mattress is probably ruined and going to get moldy since it got soaked from being on the floor. You'd CPS would've said something to them about all the kids having mattresses on the floor. Did all of Chad's books and things get ruined, too, since he has no bookshelves?

Say what you will about April from April and Davey, but that woman knows how to bake a good loaf of sourdough bread (And she does preheat her dutch oven). Maybe Ruby should take lessons from her.destroyedbythesun wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 1:22 amWhen ruby began, she was using a 1 cup flour to 1 cup water ratio.
