I had read my Susan Miller horoscope earlier in the month and it mentioned a few momentous days. I asked Lucy at the table for her sign so we could read hers. I skimmed down and noticed we both shared something very, very rare. A golden triangle, July 17-19th in a water sign. The horoscope said to “Circle July 17th-19th in GOLD” Quick question! What comes at the end of a Rainbow? ...A pot of gold? Hmm, what a coincidence! This golden triangle was a big deal. It’s very rare for Saturn, Neptune and Jupiter to all align in water signs. So rare in-fact, it’s nearly impossible. You have a better chance of winning the lottery! To say that the stars were aligned would be an understatement.

One of the original videos that she posted of her labor before the Go-Pro video showed her out of the pool, but I don't know that it showed the that doula was in the water before Lucy got out or not... I can't remember, but I do remember it showing her out of the pool next to it with everyone around her like she was in the circus.

I didn't watch her video re: all the people at her birth but I just can't imagine that many people standing around me waiting for this kid to come out. I mean, how is that anymore comfortable than being at a hospital. I had less people attending my hospital births PUT TOGETHER than she had at her last home birth.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes at this comment in her birth story. Maybe that's the 'hippie' coming out in the both of them? I was raised in a relatively strict Southern Baptist household so I was never involved in any horoscop-ing or anything like that so I don't know if this is how horoscopes and reading them normally goes, but this sounds mildly crazy and forced to me. Especially the 'what comes at the end of a rainbow?' part... If it would have said a red triangle or something like that she would have said something like 'and what's the first color in a rainbow?'...

it isn't weird that the doula was doing the things she was doing for Lucy, strictly, because when you train to be a doula you learn about the benefits of those things, but what is weird is that the doula filled that role not because Joel wouldn't or wasn't there but because Lucy didn't want him to--it's generally accepted that the doula ask dad if he wants to try it but Lucy wasn't even giving him that option. He's nothing but a sperm donor and an extra pair of hands in the Lucy show.

They have name.. im almost positive now. In the Q&A is the doula a friend, at 0:16-0:19 ish she says "when i had", and then stopped up for a second "her"... I dont beleive that baby is what two weeks old and still hasnt got a name...

No offence to anyone who has done this but what is the point in having a print of your placenta, exactly? After birth my MW offered me a look of my placenta, it looked gross. Yes it has kept my baby alive for 9 months, but would I want a print of it framed on my wall? No.

um, yeah really. What the hell is the point of this??? I get that birth is a momentous occasion, but your baby will never remember it. your child wont give a crap how long you breast fed, how you gave birth, whether you "baby wore", or whether you kept the placenta.........

and side note here; i thought that a doula and midwife were the same thing... oops! lol. why would people pay that much for a doula?? I see she offers pre and post natal visits - but does she have any medical qualifications? or is she just coming over to chat and breastfeed with you?

i'm not sure i even want to know what the rectal pressure involved.... and yeah, if anyone told me that story, i'd think they were a total nutcase.

doulas are actually required by their (our, technically--I am licensed to be a doula I just don't practice) licensure to NOT provide any medical services, only support and direction to the appropriate services. the postnatal visit is to write or share the birth story, complete the paperwork you started at the prenatal visit, and make any kind of referrals or recommendations for support services if mom is having trouble with something and doesn't know where to go.

Maybe check out the book Why Love Matters or do a quick google search to understand why breastfeeding can have life long health benefits and what babywearing does for a mother and child. A child may not 'care' as such but it can have an impact on their development from the things individually and the nurturing style of caregiving they receive as a whole. Making a placenta print is something entirely different, and i don't think anyone has said that is purely for the babies benefit or anything other than sentimental.

A doula can give emotional and practical support to the woman and her partner. They listen to what you want and believe is best for your birth and help you to communicate that during labor and after. They help with birthing positions, hypnobirthing techniques and different types of pain relief and are another reassuring resource to draw on that you don't usually get from OBs and midwives who are more focused on the medical side. A lot of them have training in counseling and birth education so they can help you deal with emotional issues and fears from previous births and debrief after your birth. Some do yoga, fetal positioning, massage and other things that can help in labor so it goes more smoothly. For me i found the counter pressure and reassurance the most useful thing, there's around a 50-70% reduction in epidurals, drugs and c sections and other complications of birth for women who use doulas so they can be very valuable.

which before I get started, I will admit that it was funny that in her L&D story she said that the kids couldn't play unsupervised because of peer pressure, etc but they are playing unsupervised in the other room while Joel and she makes these thousand different videos? Seems contradictory to me...

It is quite clear in the 18million Q&A videos she put up, the children are off to the side in Jacelyn's room :gasp: PLAYING TOGETHER. I thought that wasn't allowed in the Eades house without a parent supervising at all times??? This woman is soooooo full of it.
