I don't think they need to do things for vlog content. They just need to do things as adults. I realize that's difficult with small children, but it wouldn't hurt to see them do something outside of the house that didn't revolve around the kids.

I agree they're a great family, especially compared to other vloggers. I don't think they should just start doing stuff to show off for the camera, but this is their livelihood and I think Cullen needs to step it up a bit more if he wants to keep it that way. He's become a little complacent with just reporting in during the vlogs and not really showing entertaining footage. It would make me sad to see their views go down because they can't evolve or attract a new audience.

I love their vlogs. I started watching Bonnie when she came up on my YT. Then I discovered her sister. I was enthralled that the two were so different. From E+J I discovered DB and C and K. C and K are by far my favorite. What down to earth people and parents. They may film their mundane life, but watching them interact with Gaines is hardly mundane. Maybe I watch from a grandparent's view and that is why I enjoy it so much. The screaming and yelling on the other channels is so tiresome

Maybe because I find Gaines so adorable, but I don't mind their vlogs when they are at home all day and we mostly just see Gaines playing and talking. I definitely prefer it over other channels where people are fake with themselves, fake with their kids, and put on the most miserable looking happy faces I've ever seen. *cough no idea who I'm talking about cough*

They've been doing YouTube a lot longer too and it seems to be working for them and I feel like if it ever stopped we have mentioned things they could fall back on. I used to watch four daily vlogs religiously Bonnie, EJ, DB, and CK. I now can't stand anyone else. I actually stopped watching daily vlogs all together for a while and returned to C&K when Katie was in preterm labor with Brooks and realized how much I love them.

Today's video, minus the first few minutes, was all iPhone, iPhone, iPhone. I felt like I was watching Daily Bumps. I couldn't even finish the whole vlog because it just really annoyed me. They really could have made an entirely separate video just for the unboxing.

They went on longer than Bryan did about the phone. What annoyed me is if you're going to show off your new phone, show off some of the new features. If you've unboxed one iPhone, you've unboxed them all. There's nothing new there. Tell me what it does.

There really wasn't even anything "new" about the new iPhone from what I had read. They're the same size/weight as the 6/6plus, I think the camera is supposed to be slightly better, and the no headphone jack thing. All the other changes were internal.

There's actually a SIGNIFICANTLY better camera, faster processor, better battery life, no headphone jack, new glossy black color, click-less home button, and most of all I think the water resistant feature is a great idea to up the game!

I myself keep my phone at least 3-4 years but agree with others that every 2 years seems very reasonable to upgrade and now some of the carriers offer a yearly trade in program where many are trading their phones each year while paying a monthly rate to do so. So it doesn't seem extreme to me. I also don't think the unboxing was done as a tax write-off, as someone stated above, bc you don't need that sort of documentation. Just their receipts will work. I think they were just excited and knew the video was a hit before.

I don't mind people geeking out over electronics, but I still turned the vlog off and took a nap, because I just don't care. My understanding is their goal is to keep people watching the full length of the vlog. I think their compensation even takes early exits into account, so I believe Cullen is probably looking at the analytics and would only continue to make similar videos if the benefits (new viewers from 'iPhone unboxing' searches) outweigh the costs (longtime viewers clicking out early) in a substantial way. I don't necessarily think he is vying for a sponsorship, because Apple doesn't seem to advertise that way, but I could be wrong.

Unrelated, but does anyone know how tall Cullen is? Lol. The lady who calls him Daddy Cullen in this thread has somehow merged in my mind with southern belle Blanche Devereaux from Golden Girls, whose father was universally known as "Big Daddy."

Me too! I actually really dislike when vloggers drag small children around expensive tourist attractions and spoil them rotten by buying every plastic toy they can get their hands on. I also dislike phony "date nights" and other adult activities organized by vloggers to convince their YT audience that they are interesting people.

I like watching real life happen. Vlogs appeal to the same part of me that likes to look up grocery hauls and snoop in medicine cabinets and junk drawers (sorry...).

I was wondering how accurate the weight they got on her really was? When the scale balanced out, she had her arms outstretched & her hands on the wall. I would think if she were leaning on the wall at all, even slightly, it would take weight off her?

I thought the same. She is only a couple inches shorter than my almost 4 year old, and looks just a tiny bit more petite. But my daughter is 32lbs. I would have guessed Gaines at at least 25-26lbs. Which isn't much of a difference unless you're that tiny lol!
