Well I do agree that kids should have chores and by making Ryler pay his own phone bill it is making him take responsibility and be more.grown up, which surprises me with this family as they seem to want for nothing. But kids should have to pay for things, it teaches them some valuable lessons. They do spend money on stupid stuff, honestly Branden is not the smartest sibling and either is wife. He is trying to live off of YouTube but eventually people will get bored of them so next is that Krew gets his own channel. I think the other siblings are just more mature and smarter and just in general more invested in the real world not youtube. Madi is even more mature than Branden and Mindy. I have noticed that even though she now lives close she is maybe only there for Sunday night dinner or if she needs their kitchen , she seems to get slightly annoyed with their rad antics.bm15 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 12:24 pm I was thinking about something today...the Binghams are really weird people, think about it, they are annoying and always showing off and buying dumb stuff, but they look like they are "poor".
I don't mean like poor poor, but think about it, you see all these other Mormon/ex-Mormon families on YouTube, like the Chatwins, Aspyn and Parker, Kyler and Mad, Ohana Adventure, the Mcknight's etc, even the Gardners, and they all have big houses, plenty of vacations (pre-covid of course), designer stuff for them and their kids, good cars, and all of that, you get the point, and then you look at the Binghams and what do you see?
A mom and dad that annoyingly make a big deal out of every little thing, who keep renovating random rooms in a house with no backyard and drive the basic model of their cars and a lazy control freak mom that dresses her kids in rumpled clothes from walmart, costco, old navy and stores like that because she's too lazy to iron them (except for princess Hazy of course) and feeds 10/12 year olds baby portions in baby plates, but then they throw money at vacations and stupid scooters and gadgets.
It just doesn't make sense to me, it kind of looks like they are trying to look like something they aren't, even in the whole Bingham family, they look like the ones who are worse off. Lindsay and Justin own several businesses, a boat, take loads of vacations, have a cool house and don't make their kids do chores to pay off phone bills or stuff like that; Jared and Britt are looking for a house, look like they have good jobs and Jared invests in a lot of businesses with Justin; Dan and Chelle spend their time travelling and have cool motorcycles and cars and their house honestly looks better that Branden and Mindy's; Sean looks like the one who's better off with the cool house, the travelling, the cars etc.
My point being, Branden and Mindy obviously have money because they keep spending it on stupid stuff, but if you look at it comparing with other similar people, it looks like they are trying to come across as rich without being.
Branden is like "wooow look at all the money I'm spending customizing a basic model truck and look at my wife with her rad epic previously owned minivan" and Mindy's $300 lounge sets and $700 pair of scooters and their "epic rad multimillion dollar vacation houses", but then Ryler gets a weird kiddy phone that he has to pay off with chores, Krew apparently had a crappy mattress and shares a room with Brexen and Madi gets a bouquet of gift cards as an 18th birthday gift...it's the little things, sometimes it looks like they are looking for the cheapest way to look rich if that makes sense

Nailed it. They want to appear well off. And likely are. But fail in so many ways. The things they spend their money on just don’t make sense. Why do they need 2 $700 scooters? Or $68 pajama sets, $88 Albion Fit jogger pants that Mindy has admitted to having like 7 pairs of and all the crap that they buy at Lululemon. Why do they need to spend thousands on their 50th couch? Or an astronomical amount of money on a vacation house that they are only in when it’s time to sleep at night? They don’t buy nice cars or a house with an actual yard because they spend all their money on CRAP.bm15 wrote:I was thinking about something today...the Binghams are really weird people, think about it, they are annoying and always showing off and buying dumb stuff, but they look like they are "poor".

Yep. They're all about the moment the impulse, and the next thrill. If they saved some money, they could have gotten the lot next door that they "wanted so badly".
They have no impulse control. Remember that ugly-ass Christmas tree they spent so much on a couple of years ago with the giant ornaments? Just a symptom. As are all the "upgrades" on that basic F-150.
It's immaturity and I repeat, lack of impulse control. And showing off. But I don't envy them anything (except that I would love to go back to Turks and Caicos-- but they didn't get to go either).
They used to go hiking and kayaking and did simple things. Now it's all about being "rad, epic and savage". Notice that the more "savage" they get, the less their family spends time with them? Notice that they didn't go in on the doughnut shop, although they sure pretended to have a stake in it? Hmmmm.

Well I wonder if they ate saving for the kids to go to College, I doubt the kids will get a full ride like Madi as the kids cannot even keep up on their homework in Grade school and after only 2 months? Do they realize that being rad or a princess doesnt go far in life?

I was actually thinking the opposite about how much Madi spends with her parents. I was in college this past decade and I have a great relationship with my family, but I couldn't manage more than a trip home per month based on how busy I was. I am hoping that the reason she is spending more time there is to make up for lost time with her dad.Stephanie1976 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 4:52 pmWell I do agree that kids should have chores and by making Ryler pay his own phone bill it is making him take responsibility and be more.grown up, which surprises me with this family as they seem to want for nothing. 1 part regret for loss of time with her dad, as different as she is from them, part of her may resent that she feels different, if she would have had 50/50 custody or even 40/60 she might be more used to it and more like them
1 part pandemic, Utah seems open but I imagine it's not the same campus it was this time last year, I'm sure there are some students from other states social distancing and it's harder to connect and meet people quickly outside of your roommates
and due to the pandemic the third part is in loss of community... from what I see usually the first month is the month students see their family the least even locally, constant freshman activities, football games, parties, the novelty of friends and homesickness comes month 2, BUT with the lack of social opportunities on campus, moving states away from the mom and grandparents she's had for years and being away from her high school friends- going there is something to do, I actually imagine her making a day of it, going to her Aunt's house (mom's side) to see her cousins and then going to her dads
also don't forget, some teens were raised to value family.. I actually kind of hate when people say 'teenagers prefer their friends'... there's a balance but if you do it right, they will want to be around family sometimes... BUT the way Brandon and Mindy play out their kids "want to be with friends/don't want us", they are breeding the run away teenagers, Mindy had a family function at a splash pad for father's day, Ryler (I think) had plans with friends... unless those plans were irreplaceable/once in a lifetime like a party for a close friend, or a trip to a theme park he planned ahead of time, he should not be exempt from family functions to sit around with the friends he sees constantly
and although Ryler was praised for 'coming home because friends were breaking a family rule' It's safe to bet I'm sure he's breaking some family rules at friends' houses like playing Fortnite...
Re: This Is How We Buy Stuff, Baby | This Is How We Bingham | Part 5
Yes, kids should pay for stuff to learn the value of money and all of that, but I think Ryler is already making his parents enough money with YouTube to deserve a phone planStephanie1976 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 7:09 pmJD386 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 5:37 pmNailed it. Unless they are saving shares of their income in college funds for the kids, in that case it makes sense, but I really don’t see them doing that, they are too impulsive
In one of the latest vlogs Branden said something like “Well Madi needs to go back because she has to study to maintain her scholarship and she needs to maintain it” and my first thought was if she loses the scholarship they won’t pay for her tuition, I think they don’t they have a college fund for her, or if they did maybe it went into traveling once they learned about the scholarship
As for the other kids, they probably won’t go to college...I imagine Hazy to be the next “YouTube star” to get married at 18, so she doesn’t need to go to college to find boys
The boys, from what I understand from their religion, they are going to go on missions at 18 right? Branden and his brothers all went. Ryler will probably think he’s to good for college and become his dad, Krew is really sweet and smart, but probably will end up in some sports team and skip college, maybe Brexen? Honestly from all of them, he’s the one I have hope for, he’s sweet and shy and just wants to do his thing and looks like the one who behaves the best.
But if he ends up going to college, we can only hope that his parents saved up... or he could probably sue them when he’s older, alleging that they were exploiting him for income, something along the lines of child actors
Re: This Is How We Buy Stuff, Baby | This Is How We Bingham | Part 5
They have been teasing something big happening I have a feeling they are going to Disney World. There have been a lot of influencers going to promote the parks for Disney and they are almost to 1 million subscribers, so they probably want to something rad, epic, and savage...

No way those kids will go to college. Their parents are Youtubers. Mindy stepped foot into a college for the sole purpose of finding a Mormon husband to become a Mormon herself. I don’t see any of them having aspirations or goals that involve real careers. I see Ryler wanting time be a douchey Youtuber. Krew will want to be some sort of outdoor adventure guide. Like ultimate sports type stuff. I see Brexsen having no aspirations because he was the forgotten one and will likely just work retail jobs. Obviously princess Hazy will get married straight out of college to a man that just returned home from his mission. She will likely be in beauty school or something and ultimately drop out.

princess Hazy straight out of college, as in she'll drop out... who knows if she'll get in. I don't know if it's how they edit the videos or a true reflection but I feel like she's forever three, I swear I've only ever heard her say a complete sentence in the last week in a video.. not to compare cousins but I feel like Ava has more depth and she actually knows what she learned at school... when Mindy's asked Hazy even in preschool, it's usually not a decent replyJD386 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 8:26 am No way those kids will go to college. Hazy still talks like a baby, which is kind of weird, sometimes it looks like she cannot form a sentence correctly. But honestly, Mindy talks to her as if she was like 2 years old, sure Lindsay also does that to Ava, but is different, Lindsay asks questions and expects an answer, Mindy asks yes or no questions and then tells her she's pretty.whydowewatchthis wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 10:06 amprincess Hazy straight out of college, as in she'll drop out... who knows if she'll get in. Hazy's role in this world is to be decorative. Who cares if she can't express herself coherently?
She has the impulse control of a younger child too. Most kids her age don't scream to express themselves or haul off and slug their brothers. But if she looks "darling", it doesn't matter. She's perfect in Mindy's eyes.
She "completed" their family, don't you know?

The Hollands are doing a live in 30 min. I kinda want to watch to see how the kids behave in real life vs the vlog. 100% doubt they act like untrained animals like Hazy does though. Justin and Lindsey seem pretty real and don’t seem to over edit and make their kids look perfect despite their real behavior though. But their kids also appear way better behaved to begin with.

Ok, so I didn’t watch much of the live. Fast forwarded through the recording but it was very interesting watching the dynamics. They were all squished on one couch practically sitting on top of one another and nobody batted an eye. They clearly enjoy one another’s company. They were way up in each other’s personal space and no fights broke out.
Oh the flip side, Brex and Hazy can’t get within 3 feet of one another without a fight. They’re just lined up on the couch. There’s no loving interaction among any of those kids.
Justin and Lindsey’s kids clearly love one another and the differences among the sets of families is astounding.

They are so using Madi for views. If it's so important for her to get good grades, why don't they let her study and not make her do lives? Videos featuring Madi get significance more views than the others.
They better be splitting the $$ with her. Although somehow I doubt that they are...
And just one question: does Branden really believe anyone gives a rat's ass that he bought his first pair of Vans? He really is stunted at 12 year old Orange County surfer dude. Except that he grew up in Utah..

Mindy had a rough day on Friday.
Ryler's homework wasn't completed in time for him to go to Cornbellys with his friends so Mindy had to send him late and it was hard for her....
I'm sorry, wasn't there 12 missing assignments. My butt would have been in my bedroom the whole weekend after that conference... but not, it's just making her sad that he had to be late to his friends meet up

They are such a joke. My kid had ONE assignment that he missed and I about lost it. I couldn’t imagine 12. They are raising children to not give a shit. I wonder what the teachers think of their family. They’re such a joke.whydowewatchthis wrote:Mindy had a rough day on Friday.

What does/did mindy's brother do? I think I heard them mention that he works with her dad at the car shop? (sorry if I am out of the loop but I am really curious with this one)nahthxx wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 8:37 amIt’s so funny because Krew is just like mindy’s brother and if he grows up to be like him mindy and branden will dieJD386 wrote:No way those kids will go to college.

I hope brexsen just gets out of there. Out of that town. Out of that state.
