DailyPregnancySpeculations part 82

Unread post by MommaLindsey2 »

Ollie at the end of yesterday's vlog talking about his new toy was so clear I understood everything he said. I'm really wondering now if he is secretly in speech therapy. I have noticed he doesn't end every word in "den" anymore.

I'm starting to think Missy isn't pregnant too. We speculated about a pregnancy last June and we were wrong. But I guess we'll find out after Juniper is born... but even if Missy isn't pregnant it's been fun reading the speculation here

Why do I watch these vlogs? Missy, you're a freaking idiot! Finn wasn't being naughty. He was unsupervised! You don't need to take away the markers! You need to put them out of Finn's reach, and actually TEACH your kids not to mark on the walls and furniture! Things like this happen when you have kids. It's not a disaster! Clean it up, and teach them markers, paint, crayons are for paper only! Knowing the Lumps, they'll replace the furniture rather than wipe it off.

My kids are 4 and 7, and they managed to draw all over their bedroom walls when they snuck markers upstiars. And they know they weren't suppose to. Was I pissed, oh hell yes.

River: They weren't cows inside. They were waiting to be, but they forgot. Now they see the sky and they remember what they are.

Marker "on MY wall". She kept saying she had to "get rid of them all". No. Just put them up where the kids can't get at them.
And all the whining about the rain. It's rained about 5 days total this winter.
And will someone please tell her that the chickens need light to produce eggs? Even I know that. And I don't know jack about chickens.

Oh yeah, my kids used to do it, too! The last straw was when my daughter found a Sharpie, and made a huge mark on the wall! I freaked out because we were in a rental, and it was impossible for me to wipe off! I had to repaint that wall LOL! After that, I made sure Sharpies were completely hidden, and that she understood that art supplies weren't for walls! We didn't have a problem after that.

The sad thing is, though, that I think Missy will use this as an excuse to remove ALL art supplies from their house. Ollie just got to start using crayons last year! I hope she doesn't really take them away. Ollie and Finn really need practice with crayons, pencils, and markers, so I hope she just puts them in a safer spot.

Bryan, if you're going to keep making faces like this about the rain, maybe you should move to Arizona or Nevada or something.

Smart one missy. Get rid of all the markers and crayons until both boys are old enough. How about supervising your kids more, or maybe putting them out of his reach!

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think Missy's dad is an big enabler for the gun obsession. He has given him guns, plays guns with him, even made him water guns for his play house in their yard/playground. And how about that weird sword he made Ollie? Strange...

I think that markers on walls/floors/furniture is a fairly common "disaster" in houses with children. You can teach kids not to, you can hide markers away, but somehow kids with coloring utensils are drawn to furniture like magnets. It sucks, but you clean it up, scold the kids, and move things a little further out of reach. Poor Finn and Ollie if this makes Missy take their art supplies away! She needs to realize that she's got a toddler and a pre schooler and they WILL mess up walls/furniture/etc. It's inevitable.

Personal: The three year old I used to nanny was in my living room watching Dora when I stepped into the kitchen to put her chicken nuggets into the oven. When I came out a few minutes later she'd pulled my purse off the coffee table, unzipped an inner pocket, and started drawing all over our wood floor with a sharpie she found. I had such a moment of panic that I accidentally yelled, "Bells, no ma'am! Bad girl!" like I was talking to the dog lol.

But, it was a lesson learned, and I never left that kid alone with my purse again. Sometimes you just don't know what they're capable of getting into until they do it.

Missy seems fine with Bev when Nancy isn't around. Sat up with her until 2 in the morning, and it appeared that Bryan was no where in sight for most if it.

It also kind of bothers me that she keeps insisting that they won't be "having chicken for dinner".
Of course you will. That's what they're for. When they're done laying, you slaughter before they die of old age or disease. They're not pets, they're livestock. It's wasteful, IMO, to NOT use them for their purpose. What are they going to do? Euthanize and bury EVERY chicken they ever own? No. You're going to eat them. They just don't want to horrify their 10yo viewers.

100% truth, chickens aren't pets, they are food. Just the same with my parents cattle. They have some that are LIKE pets, but guess what? They will be steak and hamburger eventually, thats how things work on a farm. You cannot afford to have livestock that you have to feed on a farm that is no longer producing. Whether that be eggs, milk, babies.. whatever, once they get to the point where they are not making you money, they become food. Thing is, Missy will never have the balls to slaughter or prep a chicken for cooking. So she will have a bunch of old ass chickens doing nothing but eating her feed forever before they finally fall over from old age or from something they pick up from that coop she never cleans.
