Well that seems to be enough to get a job at Buzzfeed lol. Most of their employees were vloggers before being hired by the company.amykay wrote:I'm not going to quote that long ass quote from bayareamom but that argument that "no job is guaranteed" is literally soooo stupid. Sure, maybe you can get fired and or laid off from any job, but you have already acquired the education, skills and previous experience to get a new job. Oscar and Kyra have no "skills" and Kyra doesn't even have a high school diploma! What would they put on a resume? "We vlogged on YouTube for a few years?" Like come onnn
I do believe it would be in Oscar's best interest to at least try one more time. And Kyra DEFINITELY needs to finish high school, because being a high school drop out is embarrassing.
Either way, Oscar's dad is rich, if youtube fails, then his dad will most likely step up for them. He won't let his grandchildren be homeless. Plus I don't think is that hard to find a job in Utah without a college degree.

BECAUSE....?
Not always. But you learn that as you grow and mature in life. My husband and I once felt the same way. We learned otherwise after many heartbreaks along the way. Again - not advocating NOT seeking a higher education. Highly recommended. JUST BE REALISTIC w/your expectations.

Nobody cares about you and your husband. Really. I had a lengthy response but it's obvious there's no getting through to you. Especially after all the ways you praise oscar I just can't lmaoBayareamom wrote:"Sorry but having a degree is always better than not having one at all."

Actually many buzzfeed positions required some bachelors degree. They hire journalists and even engineers. But sure maybe.ytmamaviewer24 wrote:Well that seems to be enough to get a job at Buzzfeed lol. Re: OkBabiesRaisingBabies: Part 12
For some of you naysayers regarding my above comments, here's a good Huff Post article you may want to skim over (from January 2017):
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/nicholas- ... 01822.html
SNIP:
"More Americans are going to college now than ever before. But does this mean that more Americans are on the right road to a well-paying, rewarding career? Unfortunately, the research shows that a big investment in an expensive education does not necessarily equal a well-paying job. Instead, many college graduates remain unemployed or underemployed — with thousands of dollars in student debt to pay off..."
AND
Changing needs of employers
..."So if a college degree, the one credential once thought be a guaranteed ticket to gainful employment, is leaving so many of today’s graduates high and dry, why do so many students of all ages persist in taking on massive debt for a degree that’s often not worth the sheepskin it’s printed on? Well, student loans are largely fueled by the misconception that a college degree will “buy you” a well-paying job — just as when purchasing any product or service. But the reality is that this is no longer the case. Why? The answer, quite simply, is that the needs of employers have changed, while so many aspects of the education system have remained essentially the same. What I mean by this is that sadly, too many colleges and universities are not equipping students with the technical, practical, or soft skills that companies are looking for..."

Re: OkBabiesRaisingBabies: Part 12
Is anyone else curious what O&K's credit scores are? I feel like the only they they would have contributing towards it is their rent. Maybe their car payment but I do really think they bought that outright.

They probably had to put down a very large amount to be approved. It's very rare for a mortgage company to lend to anyone under 21 unless they can put a VERY substantial amount down, were talking more than 20% of the houses value.Pineapples wrote:These 2 live pretty frugally so I'm guessing they put down quite a big cash amount on that house. Mortgage is probably going to be not much more than rent in that case.

READ the article, above. LEARN something.
And no, you've not been invaded. But at the same time, I'm not a crowd follower. I speak my mind, as I've noted most of you do here as well. While I agree w/much of what has been stated, I disagree w/some things stated, too. This Huff Post article is well written and easy to digest.
It's practical and gives a few helpful tips that I really hope a few of you younger folks will read and consider.

I don't think they have much credit. I honestly think the only reason they were approved for a mortgage given that they don't have extensive credit and neither of them are over 21 is because they could afford to put down more than 20% of the homes value. I wonder if it is in both of their names given that they are both legally single. It seems weird why given that they have 2 kids and now a house together they don't just go to a courthouse wedding. It's like all this commitment but then not a marriage. By the way I'm not judging unmarried couples with kids, just find it odd in O+K's situation. Maybe they are waiting to milk views for a youtube proposal?

Re: OkBabiesRaisingBabies: Part 12
Waiting for views is probability the plan. May being doing it for 1,500,000 subs? I just don't understand couples with so much commitment but then they don't atleast courthouse wedding it. Like shit if something happened to one of the two and they had to go to the hospital and make descions for the other they couldn't because they aren't married or next of kin/parents/family.olivialinnea101 wrote:prbeca wrote:Is anyone else curious what O&K's credit scores are? Re: OkBabiesRaisingBabies: Part 12
In my experience paying rent doesn't contribute to a credit score. Having a credit card or two and paying them off each month as well as a car loan does. Still, their credit histories can't be very old considering that they are only 20.olivialinnea101 wrote:prbeca wrote:Is anyone else curious what O&K's credit scores are? They could probably afford to put a very large chunk down given the views + sponsorships they got last year/ at the beginning of this year.
As per getting married I don't place value in marriage above the practical issues, but I can see that Kyra does care. I'm guessing that Oscar is procrastinating on a proposal like he procrastinates on everything else. He prob wants it to be youtube worthy, but that is just causing him to push it back further. Kinda like for Alaya's name reveal: they wanted it to be really special and then they waited until the last minute and fucked it up.
