When she was saying how the girls were complaining and that’s why she got them each their own hairbrushes I rolled my eyes so hard. That’s something everyone needs their own for freaking hygiene reasons.

I hate when she says “it’s so messy but remember 8 people live in this house” when her house is spotless and looks more like a show home. I find her obsession with organisation far too excessive, like isn’t she showing us her closet, cabinets and washing room on instagram every other day?! Also she wishes she had a walk in pantry but she has one downstairs?

I don’t know why but I really don’t think of Ruby as a minimalist and I really don’t understand the whole “years supply” thing. She says she’s “hates running out” but you obviously buy more before you run out, she’s always shown going to the grocery store.
A few videos ago she said that her and Eve were eating out for lunch everyday at Walmart. You couldn’t have picked up toothpaste at Walmart? I wish she showed her food room so her subscribers would know she’s NOT a minimalist.

I dont see her as a minimalist, just as a tidy person with the strange mother-dearest cleaning obsession. Lots of contradictions on not being wasteful but then having disposable things... I dont have issue how she organises. I know she was a little into Konmari before it became trendy since the Netflix show. I think she understood the concept a little, unlike her sister Ellie, who recalled the book as MarIA Kondo and going on about how she organises her stuff, all had nothing to do with the Konmari method to begin with.

I don’t regularly watch 8 passengers, just when a video sounds interesting from what is said on here, when I did watch regularly I remember in a video she had a melt down about negative comments and showed the front doorway/ music room and it was covered in amazon boxes and just.. stuff. I think she tries hard to have a nice, clean home and I appreciate that. I’m the same way. Growing up my parents kept junk whether it was needed or not. I hated it so much so now I’m overly tidy in my home. Recently my niece told my mother in law that she wanted to go to aunties because the house is always clean.

This video ( today’s) reminded me of the home video of when the griffiths were young. Super awkward.

So no worries if the poles are melting, Ruby’s toilets are clean and that is all that matters!

And they’re cleaned with the same towel that kids use to wipe their mouth after they brush their teeth and wipe up the floor after a shower!endof wrote:So no worries if the poles are melting, Ruby’s toilets are clean and that is all that matters!

So finally Ruby admits to the roots of been a mean mom! She apparently lost the innocence of been a child at 14 because she probably took over raising her siblings and became a little terror probably from the stress of doing that! Underlining resentment much!?

Her skin too seems so wrinkled and aged for sb in their 30s must be the lack of sun or genes but she looks 50 plus

I love how anytime she mentioned something was important to her (little knick knacks and decorative pieces) it had been hidden away in a cupboard or closet. Maybe Ruby believes she's a "minimalist" because the Griffiths are conditioned to hide all semblance of personality in their homes

That was cracking me up...she opened up the cabinet above the refrigerator and was surprised to see her old wedding gift up there, but then goes on to say it’s super sentimental. They are probably used to hiding away loads of pricey knick knacks because Jennifer and family are awful gift givers with their whole motto of giving what you like, not what the person would like. They also chose random, often expensive items you can’t do much with, that always just seem to end up “on display” in a closet, tucked in a cabinet or in the trash. The pillows at Christmas were awful gifts...like all girls children don’t already have pillows? The seem to have hoards of supposedly expensive little glass figurines, vases, tiny plates, and old jewelry though. The only nice gifts I’ve seen are the piggy banks they get the kids on their first birthdays and the jewlery boxes (not that I’m in to those myself but they seem treasured by the family and like something more useful).

I definitely don't consider her a minimalist either... However, the sentimental items above the fridge I completely understand. My mom also kept her wedding china and salt and pepper shakers from her great grandma and other sentimental things in the cabinets above our fridge my entire life. She would take them down for special occasions, but I suppose while she had young kids, she just didn't want them to be played with or broken.Tiger27 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 2:14 pmlil-pupper wrote:I love how anytime she mentioned something was important to her (little knick knacks and decorative pieces) it had been hidden away in a cupboard or closet. Very personal, but did anyone notice during her house organization tour when she was in the girls' closet pointing to feminine products she made sure to say, "that the girls use" at the end, and that there weren't any in her bathroom? She seems much too young for menopause..
Re: 8 Passengers: No Rules & Private Schools | Part 9
No. You heard that wrong. When she said "the kids will actually use them" she was referring to using them for cleaning rather than chemicals. They don't use the microfiber cloths for wiping their face. Every morning after they brush their teeth they have to dry their sinks, then dry the floor and wipe the toilet and it goes in to the dirty laundry hamper. They use their regular towels to dry their bodies. The microfibers are for keeping their bathroom clean.Lolislol26 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 23, 2019 12:24 pmAnd they’re cleaned with the same towel that kids use to wipe their mouth after they brush their teeth and wipe up the floor after a shower!endof wrote:So no worries if the poles are melting, Ruby’s toilets are clean and that is all that matters!

So who's the parent-Ruby or Eve? If Eve needed her hair combed, Ruby should comb her hair!

If you only knew how many times I have said to students parents. Who is the parent you or the child. Parents do their children no favors by allowing them to rule the household.sheltiefan wrote:So who's the parent-Ruby or Eve? If Eve needed her hair combed, Ruby should comb her hair!
