Maybe the Instagram ads are making more for them than the vlogs. Sam from Samika _says_ that their ads make them more money than the vlogs, and that they are actually very comfortable, even though if you look at their subscribers and views, they're not doing so well. Maybe he's just bs'ing us. But maybe that's the case with these two as well? They certainly don't seem to be panicking. And if she's doing all these ads, that means companies are working with them.

Definitely rolling my eyes at the 'TaDa" list and "we're so busy!!!" But I guess we all have our limits.

Katie was clearly frustrated with Cullen and what he did with Beth the Elf. It sounded like Gaines was misbehaving yesterday and they told her Beth wouldn't be coming the next day, but while Katie and MG were at gymnastics he set up the elf and gave the kids a huge present. No wonder why Gaines has been acting up. They give her a consequence, and Cullen doesn't follow through and instead goes over Katie's head and gives her a pretty big present 3 weeks before Christmas.

But who care about parenting, right? Gotta get those YT views!

I think the list says To Do and Notes, but the O's are written funny. I remember them showing it when they first got it. How ever it's written they bought it that way, they didn't write that part.

I wonder if they are waiting until the kids are old enough to enjoy the trip before they take it (if it has no expiration date or is good for several years...) I also assumed the prize was non transferable, so either they go or they lose the trip. They are quite possibly unable to gift the trip to anyone else. I wouldn't bring the kids in the first place. It's like from an Adventure company... not something that would be very young child friendly.

Katie was annoyed AF at the piano and Beth showing up today. I would have been pissed as well especially if i had a conversation with my kids about her NOT coming.

I skipped the whole part with them over at Kelly and Jay's... i cannot deal with those two and they bore me to tears. I swear every single time i randomly click on one of their vlogs to see if my mind has changed all Kelly is doing is droning on about some damn crock pot meal. Is that literally all she cooks? Do they ever have a vlog where she's not talking about her damn crock pot? Bc i'm honestly not exaggerating, every single vlog ive EVER seen has had at least 5 mins of crock pot footage. Wonder if it made an appearance in the live stream.

Katie has been doing a ton of ads on instagram lately. St Ives, Babies R Us, Google Home, and Home Goods just in the past 8 days.

Plus The Letter Market that they have been promoting for years, but have been sending the kids a lot of clothes lately.

I think they are struggling financially since their views and subscribers are dropping paired with the added holiday expenses. I’ve only watched a couple videos the past week but they both had two adds that didn’t have the skip option.

I'm referring to the sponsorships they do. Not the ads outside of the vlogs. Like how they were sponsored by CVS in yesterday's vlog and they included several minutes of themselves shopping at CVS. Katie has been posting pictures and doing instastories that are ads for the companies I mentioned.

LOL she really is in love with her crockpot. I watch maybe 2-3 vlogs of theirs a week, and compared to C&K, they seem like a normal family. Yes Kelly is annoying AF with her slooooowwwww talking, and I can't stand Emily's blasé attitude toward life, but generally I relate to them so much more than C&K. Maybe because YT is a hobby for Kelley and not the main source of income.

The crockpot doesn't bother me all that much because at least she prepares a meal that the whole family will eat most every night, unlike C&K who feed their kids mac n cheese or uncrustables for dinner, and then they eat take-out or a frozen pizza at 9pm when the kids go to bed.

Wrong thread i know but yes.. her voice and the way she talks makes me insane. Emily looks and acts like a terror, i can just imagine how she is off camera. Madelyn sounds soooooooo scripted and like she would rather be doing anything but be on a vlog (which at her age i don't blame her) and Jay is so uncomfortable on camera STILL that it makes me uncomfortable.
Last time i watched emily wouldnt touch whatever was in said crock pot and she was eating mac and cheese.. I think they are just as guilty of letting her run the show as C&K are with Gaines. Katie touched on it the other day and said that she knows she should be only fixing one meal and you eat what you eat or you dont.. and she says she does that with Gaines (which i had to side eye bc we have never seen anything remotely like that with Gaines) but that she feels like brooks is too young to understand that. I can give her a pass on that, bc i agree that Brooks is a little young to understand, plus he loses his mind when he's hungry. I'm sure denying him food would be GREAT FUN lol. But Gaines is big enough to eat what is put in front of her, or at least TRY what is in front of her. I was so guilty of this when my daughter was Gaines' age, and i wish like everything that i had been more firm with her and didn't play short order cook. She's still so so picky, but i don't give in with her anymore. Shes old enough where she can eat what is served or fix herself a pb&j or a bowl of cereal. I refuse to make separate meals anymore.

Yes!! I am more and more irritated by the spoiling of Gaines and catch myself not really wanting to watch her, like subconsciously I would be answering her need for attention and sense of importance. I'm not so fond of Gaines anymore.

I'm also not sympathizing with Katie, who said a couple of weeks ago, when they were eating in a restaurant, that o no, o no, o no, she couldn't handle "that" (pointing with her arm and hand towards Brooks), no, she definitely couldn't. With angel Gaines at least.... you could reason! But not with "that"! As if Gaines could reason when she was 1 !?! And she still can't and is just a normal 3 yr old like every 3 yr old.

Then a couple of days later Gaines came home from something, and Katie responded in a much sweeter tone than she had just been talking to Brooks: o hey little princess!! All smiley smiley highest sweetest tone.... (not that the camera showed Katie's face, but by her tone you could hear she was smiling).

Did anyone else catch the comment from Katie about her hair? Something about how it was going to be more fun (or something.. idk what the exact words were) soon? I wonder if that is a hint towards their talk about dying their hair "crazy" colors that they talked about for so long. I'm curious if it will ever happen and for what reason. Not that they need a real reason other than just wanting too, i have an appt tomorrow to get mine done (blues, purples and teals, inspired from the amazing looking oil slick colors ive see recently, but with fewer colors. I just have to decide if i'm doing peekaboo like i normally do or if i go full monty and do my full head of hair. wooooooo off topic sorry) but it just seems like something WAY out of the norm for them.

She'll probably just go blonder, and end up damaging her hair even more. I don't think she has the personality to pull off a unique hair color. She's too typical southern belle, monogrammed everything, country club, upper middle class. And I'm not saying that as a bad thing. Just as a fact. And I'm not saying that no one in those circles can pull off unique hair colors, just not Katie. I am so jealous that you're getting your hair colored like that! I'd love to try something daring, but I'm so reserved and plain-Jane, that it'd be weird on me.

And Gaines has tried things when she's been with Kelly and Katie wasn't around. Kelly just keeps putting it in front of her. And I have never ever seen Katie tell Gaines to eat what was cooked or get nothing. Probably because they only cook what she likes and then make themselves something else later. They give her mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, grits, and yogurt, so they don't have to tell her to eat it or go hungry. So she is technically telling the truth. And since Brooks is a "good" eater, they could feed him what they eat. But I think they're feeding him the same as Gaines, and that's what he is getting used to. I know Gaines did used to actually be picky-- they used to sneak meat into her. But she's more adventurous now, if they just keep trying-- at least she is for Kelly.

How fun! My daughter wants "mermaid hair"-- we look at pictures all the time. It's just the cost holding us back right now. Have fun with yours! I agree that Katie just doesn't have whatever it takes to carry off the hair color. And it's not a slam. It's just not her style. Just like I would look weird in monogrammed sweater sets.

Oh believe me.. if it wasn't for the fact that one of my oldest and dearest friends was my stylist, i wouldn't be able to afford it either. She does mine from her house, we drink wine and gossip/catch up while she does my hair. I only pay for supplies and i tip her generously (much to her protesting). I could not afford salon pricing. I will say that manic panic is a really good drug store brand for fun colors, i've used them since high school and its relatively cheap if you feel confidant enough to try it yourself!

Ha, I actually bought my hubby the FAO Schwarz piano last weekend from 'Big' also. I'd also be really perturbed if my hubby brought Beth out when she was bad the day before. And on that note, I won't be doing Elf on the Shelf. Too much work for 25 days, no thank you. Lol.

we run our heater on about 65 (18 degree celcius in Australia) of a night then during the day its on about 68-73 (20-23)
our winter gets down to about 41 (5) during the day and as low as 26 (-3) overnight

when by daughter was born over our winter we upped the temp to 24-25 during the day and had her well wrapped of a night
now she is 16mth we have gone back to 20-23 during the day

We hardly use our furnace at all. Granted we live in SoCal, but it does get down to the 40's at night. We just use lots of blankets and sweaters.
