She just had a miscarriage and is complaining about how she had to eat salads instead of candy?

Jfc what is wrong with these people???
She was blaming herself. She wasn't complaining. She said "I was even eating salads, i haven't eaten hardly any candy, and i love candy.." She was blaming herself in grief, not complaining about eating healthier. It make me feel awful for her. Yes, being healthy is more than just eating salads and not eating candy, but the poor girl was not in her right frame of mind when she said that and looking to her own actions as reasons, she was not complaining about having to eat healthy. She has even said she is excited about having her own garden so she can walk outside and pick her own salad for lunch out of her yard. I don't think she is THAT upset about eating salads, it was her beating herself up and trying to say that she was doing what she thought was good and right for the baby.
Ok, that makes sense. I honestly tune out whenever Brittany is in the vlog.
Yeah this was in her vlog about losing the baby. she was on the couch, crying and visibly distraught. Talking about how it's more common than people think and how that doesn't make it at all any easier. Saying she knows it's not her fault but clearly you can tell she can't help but think that it was. She was not in the emotional state to take anything that she said as complaints. It was clearly her trying to reason with herself and "prove" to herself she was not the cause. It was pretty heartbreaking to watch.

The only thing that makes me defend them on this is personal experience. My daughter would go from zero to 105 in MINUTES. Her body sometimes would not even respond to cycling ibuprofen and tylenol. After experiencing febrile seizures AFTER administering fever reducers, I would NEVER risk it with my kids. I do wait until it gets over 101... bc i do know that low grade fevers are productive, but after that... hell no, I won't risk it. I just can't snark on anyone using a fever reducer for anything over 100..

I don't understand her keeping MG awake to make sure the fever was gone. They have a forehead thermometer, it's not like she's got to wake her up and check it rectally. Let her sleep, (even if it's on the couch or whatever, closer to them than upstairs. Stick her on the couch in the playroom while they are in the living room) wake her up if meds are needed. If she's that sick she wont even remember getting woken anyway
You don't want to mess with febrile seizures. But as far as I know, Gaines hasn't had them. They would have vlogged that and used it for a thumbnail for sure. It seems like they break out the Tylenol the minute their kids get a fever. Any fever. And it's just inappropriate to keep a kid awake, film an instastory, and post it instead of letting her rest. Their priorities are so skewed. I can't believe I used to think they were better parents than their friends.

Oh i agree they should have let her sleep, no reason to keep her awake just to see if the fever breaks. It's going to either break or not no matter if shes awake or asleep. Maybe fevers scare katie, and that's why they treat it so quickly? did she say how high it was? Like i said, anything under 101 I wait out, but the second it goes to 101.1 mine are getting meds.

I understand your point, because I had a very similar experience as a child( had a seizure) but sometimes I’m like hey maybe not go straight to the Meds. I understand using a fever reducer over 100 degrees just not below.

I sympathize with freaking out about fevers. I never knew what was wrong with me literally loosing my mind whenever one of my kids would get a fever, it was like I had PTSD or something, than I found out through therapy that as a child I had watched a movie called City of Angels, with Nicholas Cage and Meg Ryan, well at the very beginning of the movie a little boy dies from a high fever. It was super tramatic. I guess I had internalized that fear and in my early thirties, when I decided to have children, it all came back. Now that I recognize it I don’t freak out as much, and my children’s temps always came from ear infections. Maybe Katie had some kind of similar experience but she doesn’t recognize it yet.

But Katie wasn’t “freaking out” about the fever. She was so concerned she felt the need to document it? Right....

The Katie as an overprotective mom bubble was burst for many of us around the time she left Gaines SLEEPING in the car so she could enjoy her dinner. Katie is all about Katie’s convenience, and not about what is best for her children at all.

I just don’t see what others do about her I guess, hence the side eye for keeping her sick child up. I think she believes that an early bedtime will interfere with Katie’s ability to sleep in.

I'm so confused, why was Brittany at their date night with them? That seemed like a really nice, intimate restaurant that they could've focused on each other and had a close, uninterrupted connection with each other, but they brought his sister to it?! Weird.

They probably wanted to cheer her up and get her out of the house. She just had a miscarriage, and her husband is out of town. It’s not like they never get date nights alone. I thought it was nice that they invited Brittany.

She did just have a miscarriage, and a d&c without her husband there to support her. Maybe they were just being nice and taking her out so she didn't have to be alone? Katie and Cullen have been in her shoes, i'm sure it was in support of her during hard times..

And they vlogged it. Blecch.

I say again, their priorities are skewed. Take your sister out and cheer her up. That's wonderful and kind. Vlogging and filming instastories of all your "date nights" when you are supposed to be "connecting" and trying to save your marriage is weird.

Yes I did know all that, and I agree, it was a very supportive thing for them to be there for her during that difficult time, but then it isn't technically a date night for them. Just my thought anyway.

“Date night” is one of the buzz words they’ve been using in their titles since the whole depression thing came out. Just another way they’re trying to muster up more views.

Their house must be on a practice hole because they were chasing Ada and Brooks didn’t have pants on. That and they are always on that hole.

It shouldn’t matter. That’s private property that they should stay off unless they paid to play a round of golf. It’s really dangerous if Ada runs off like that. There are people who are seriously scared of dogs, and would not hesitate to injure or kill a loose dog, even if she wasn’t aggressive.

I thought they were supposed to be getting a fence?

And isn't it a little chilly to have Brooks outside barefoot with no pants on? Especially with Gaines sick.
They shouldn't let the dog on the golf course. Period. Is Cullen out there picking up her poop? They treat that golf course like it's an extension of their backyard. And that's not right. It is rude and entitled.
I am not surprised.

No, as a golfer I’m really upset. I’m surprised they haven’t gotten a warning or something.

girl it's been 80+ for the past week. It blows. LOL He's fine with no pants, and he did have on shoes.
I didn't see Ada on the green. I saw her at the edge of the yard on "their side" of the golf cart track. Not saying the dogs DONT go out there, but she wasn't on the green when Brooks was calling her.

Cullen was chasing her across the course. She was up on the opposite side of the fairway up the hill.
