It's not even that! There are straighteners that cost more! She can even get a Dyson hair dryer, lol. So I don't know what the deal was with this one-- expensive and bad reviews. Great. Let's wipe our butts with $100 bills!

I don't know if anyone knows about the disflix site issue, but it wouldn't shock me if Bryan tried teaming up with them or they contacted him and be that being "life changing" thing

If you don't know, a group created disflix to show amateur footage of those visiting Disney sites/parks and allowing others to watch those videos with a paywall (they had no affiliation with Disney at all and riddled with legal issues). Maybe DB's connection with Maker made Disflix back out of working with them. Maybe there's no connection at all, but I guess we will never know.

Like the $10,000 viking fridge that also had crappy reviews? I honestly think the exact scenario you described happens every time they buy something.. Like they automatically sort online shopping with "highest to lowest" and pick that way lmao

There's no way Maker is taking 30% of their revenue. Your split would only be that bad if your channel was small, like under 50k subs. The bigger your channel, the better your split. My channel is much smaller than theirs and I have a 90/10 split with Fullscreen. They're paying 10% TOPS, but that is still a huge chunk of change. I normally don't speak up in these forums unless it's related to YouTube because people's assumptions about networks are always way off and it drives me nuts lol. *goes back into lurking*

I actually got the same straightener from Sephora, but in black and gold. It sucks. It broke after about 10 months and didn't do a good job when it worked. Missy, return it if you can and get a different one.

Bryan is really good at knowing what the kI'd audience wants. I really think that if YouTube was around back when he was a kid, he'd watch a youtuber like them and dream about being adopted. He'd be one of the kids in the comment saying "my fish just died, can I get 100 likes?" Kidding, not really though. I wonder if he thinks poorly on his childhood in part because he didn't have all of the best toys. His mom was a single mom and they lived with his grandmother.

Pewdipie has said before that You Tube takes about 45% of his earnings from videos, and that Maker's fees come off of that. I've seen the speculation on this board about how much money DB have, and I don't think they are rolling in it like people think.

Even if Maker isn't taking 30%, taxes will be, so it will work out more or less the same, if not worse. Bottom line, they aren't saving shit.

If they are only taking 10%, then DB is by no means on of the higher earning channels for them. This is also pretty apparent from how little merch they have in the Maker store.

They could definitely be on the chopping block.
