Re: ThisGatheredNest
Can anyone here even afford a trip to Encore Resort? She keeps tagging them like everyday people are going to be like "oh lets go there next weekend!!". It looks really nice and I love that they have their own pool but we can't afford something like that.

Re: ThisGatheredNest
That was a brand deal which is why they had to tag them all the time. They didn't pay for any of it at all.Blackswan wrote:Can anyone here even afford a trip to Encore Resort? I used to really enjoy her vlogs, but I’m recently so disappointed in them! The new one at the resort was so blah. What is up with her voice when she talks now? It sounds so fake!!!
Re: ThisGatheredNest
Is she still gone? I see her fangirling on A Farmhouse Full now too. I haven’t been around long enough to know she’s changed voices? I’m going to have to watch some older ones. Lol.
Re: ThisGatheredNest
Oh my god if she starts yelling “debt is dumb” and hashtagging debt free life I’m gonna lose it. I saw she commented on Nicci’s latest vlog that they are getting on the “debt free train” too. I don’t watch her videos anymore so I haven’t heard the voice change. I will watch her Instagram but their videos annoy me for some reason. I started watching her in the summer of 2015 and I loved her so much (Same with Nicci from Afarmhousefull). Lately both of them seem to be changing for the worse. I’ll just stick with my girl Jamerrill from Jamerrill’s Large Family Table. That woman won’t ever change (found her at the same time as the other 2). We are very different but I appreciate how goofy and real she is. She has her flaws but these two (Angie and Nicci) have gotten almost obnoxious. And I hate saying that because I was huge fans of both.dahell wrote:Is she still gone? I see her fangirling on A Farmhouse Full now too. Re: ThisGatheredNest
I like Jamerril too! I still like a lot of Nicci’s content. It’s probably 80/20 at this point? She’s definitely changed though and it’s disheartening. I’ve NEVER been into family vlogs so I don’t watch Angie on the regular. I would watch some of her sit down videos or skip through her vlogs a little. Just not my thing.HCB wrote:Oh my god if she starts yelling “debt is dumb” and hashtagging debt free life I’m gonna lose it. She's on a road trip right now to take Rosie to see Myka Stauffer and Huxley. Ugh I can't stand Myka! She's an example of what NOT to do when adopting!

Lol, I’m actually surprised she’s meeting with women around her age. I still cringe whenever she leaves her comments on Britneyandbaby vids. So embarrassing

Re: ThisGatheredNest
I unsubscribed as well after the Instagram post. Unsubscribed from both Instagram and YT. I have been feeling somewhat off with Angie for a while now. I used to enjoy watching her vlogs, seriously. She seemed very down to earth, very real. Now after she made YT her "job", nothing is real anymore. Nothing. Every single thing she does now is planned, to get views, to get followers, because this is "what she does", because this is "her job".ava11 wrote:What the hell, Angela. Like really? Crazy Myka? Somebody once said here that we could not relate to Angie anymore. I feel that way too. I also agree on her voice. I did noticed that. Noticed the constant complaints as well.
She also seems unable to take care of her children without help from somebody. Of course we need help sometimes, it's only natural. But it looks like she needs help all the time!

I'm actually shocked this is the decision she made! We will see if they stick to it.HeyKatie wrote:Angie’s going to be homeschooling all 5 kids now.

I think she made really good points. I have a B.S. in elementary and she was right about everything she said. There are no benefits to retaining a child so young. I actually really liked this video, she reminded me of why I subscribed. At the same time I’m wondering how she’s going to homeschool 5 kids, different ages, and with special needs. I hope she doesn’t fall back on those worksheets.

I agree. I'm also a teacher (special ed), and I teach in Canada. In the area where I live, children are not retained for those reasons. Unless parents strongly push for it under extenuating circumstances, children are never held back.milu wrote:I think she made really good points. I'm most concerned about Rosie. I understand that it's a long day for her, but I think a structured school setting with a functional/life skills curriculum is essential for reaching her full potential. Plus I know Angie said she was receiving other services. I just hope they can at least match those services privately. If they were living in my area, Rosie could potentially attend school for a reduced day which would be a much better option imo. Do kids seriously go to school for 8 hrs a day in the US? It's 6 hours here with 5 hours of instructional time.

Re: ThisGatheredNest
I do think she made good points as to why she's homeschooling Rosie and Noah. I can't believe the school recommended retention at such a young age. Still, I worry about her doing it with all five kids. As of now she hardly pays attention to Jonah during the day when homeschooling him and the older girls are just left to do independent study. Noah and Rosie will need a lot of extra needs and I'm not sure how that will go, especially with how obsessed Angie is over the babies. I used to love Angie, but I'm getting so many bad vibes from her lately, especially the meet up with the actual worst, Myka

Re: ThisGatheredNest
I'm an Elementary Ed major in the Midwest. I've also been a paraeducator for a local school district for three years. Here our kindergarteners go for seven hours with around five of those hours being instructional time. The rest of the time is spent on recess, free choice play and meals or snacks. There are quite a few kiddos with special needs in our district. Very few of them actually go for seven hours a day or if they do they have IEP's and aren't in instruction time the same amount as the rest of the kids. I agree with all of Angie's reasoning for pulling Noah and Rosie. Retention at that young of an age is a rarity and not something I personally agree with. I do think a regular public school versus a charter school would be beneficial to them. Noah and Rosie both have unique needs based on their backgrounds and charter schools push kids so much. I'm also interested to see how she balances homeschooling five kiddos on top of taking care of the twins. She did mention she was going to take a step back from some business ventures in order to spend more time with the kids. Whether or not that actually happens is a different story.Lennmama wrote:I agree. I'm also a teacher (special ed), and I teach in Canada.
