This sweet lady has probably been treated this way her entire life, especially by her family, and likely thinks it's normal to be mocked and made fun of. She was born in the 1940s and it was quite common to institutionalize special needs children and sad to say they often got little formal education beyond the basics.natalka81 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 10:41 amThis bothered me so much! Clearly they thought it was a good thing to leave in because they even put captions under Cody's question. I was so annoyed.imoverit wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 7:37 pm Interesting how in the bloopers video she left in the part (8:07) where they make fun of Aunt Linda's voice and the kids ask if Aunt Linda feels bad when they do that. It's like even though they are taught by their mom's actions that it's okay to do, something inside of them still knows it's wrong. But Bonnie just tells them Aunt Linda likes it... but that's because she probably doesn't realize they're laughing at her.
ETA: I think Linda is happy to be mentioned in their videos, but I also think something deep inside her probably does sense that they're making fun of her.

So, the kids and Bonnie have swept and cleaned the meth house, with sawdust, dust, and everything else on their pajamas now (Bonnie even says she has sweated all over the place), and now they are back home settling in to watch a movie, and no doubt, go to bed in the same filthy pajamas they have worn all day. Why do they show how filthy they are on their vlogs. So gross.

Pokemon must have paid them a lot of money. She put a tree in Lincoln's room! Decorations are in the living room only and that causes her stress. So you go over to clean the former meth house in PJ's . Saw dust and dirt flying all over. Then go home and go to bed in the PJ's????

A 10 min ad? No thanks! Thanks god I have invidous on Firefox so I don't have to watch ads or give them views! I highly recommend Firefox for this very reason.
I can't believe she had the kids cleaning up the meth house without gloves or masks!! Doesn't Linc have asthma??
And how stupid was Bon Bon to sweep the dust onto her BO0TS on the steps!! Why didn't she sweep DOWN while standing on the step above?? Is she really that stupid??

They really live in their bathrobes and pjs. From Grandma Griff's preparing a full meal in her bathrobe and no apron ("because she doesn't want to have the smell on her church clothes) and Ellie and Bonnie recently sitting on the toilet lid in their bathrobes watching their prophet, and now Bonnie and kids cleaning a construction site in their pajamas, I'm convenience they have the worst personal hygiene. Maybe I treat my bed too sacred (maybe a little too compulsive), but I like being clean before getting under the sheets and definitely would not want to take containiment from food, cleaning or bathroom toilets to my bed.Cece7859 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 7:18 am Pokemon must have paid them a lot of money. The number of links and the amount of time on vlogs that contains ads is hurting her channel. Is she leaning towards just ads vs. views now for their household income? But you still need viewers in order for companies to be interested in your channel for brand deals. Although, after seeing Cullen and Katie advertise for a bank, I am dumbfounded by these companies' choices in who they advertise with.Liz_444 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 7:27 am A 10 min ad? No thanks! That was a lot of debris and dust their kids were breathing in. Why isn't Joel keeping the building site cleaned up daily. He basically has subbed out almost all the work including painting so what does he do during the day while others are working? If he is done with this project by the time this year is up since the February meth house purchase date, it will be a miracle. Time is money.

Pokémon deal must have been sweet. They really made a production out of it. Cute family scene, setting up little brothers room, all getting along, no child jealous that one sibling is getting all this cool stuff. Yet, the “Decorating for Christmas with 4 Kids” vlog shows a completely different reality. Kids in trouble, being sat in different corners, not actually doing any decorating. Bonnie telling Lincoln he can’t help because of his behavior. She was never going to allow them to help anyway. Can’t have them “ruining”her vision of how she likes that room to look. Olivia is getting to the age where she can be trusted to bring her mother’s vision together.
Her Insta story’s are getting more ridiculous as well. Every day posting “questions” asking about every damn thing they use, followed by a useful and handy link. I might send her a message and ask what brand of toilet paper they use.

Clearly she meant that she wouldn’t advertise toys if the toy was the only payment. But when there’s money involved, she can stretch herself to climb on board whole heartedly.Parktown wrote:....and to think she had staunchly announced she would never advertise toys because that is not who she is!?Ohnonotme wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 10:38 am Pokémon deal must have been sweet. Chad revealed that his parents got upset when the state changed how special needs people were housed and moved Aunt Linda from what was basically a "training school/institution" in American Fork, Utah where she had been since the age of 5 to a group home setting where she's been for many years. You would think that they'd want their daughter living in a place that's overall best suited for her needs and has a smaller resident to staff ratio meaning residents will get more personal attention than they would in an institutional setting.

Well, but then he said that the group home turned out to be a great fit for Linda. I just think that the parents were scared of the coming change and didn't know would it be better for her or not. As Chad said, the parents and family didn't really know back then how to take care of a disabled child and if Linda was doing well in her previous accommodation, they might have worried if everything won't go as well in a new place.Josette wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 2:00 pm

When I watched this video, I got the feeling that they actually do care about her and she is part of the family, even though they laugh and make fun of her.

Re: Bonnie Hoellein: Everything stinks, click my affiliate links! | Part 62
I said in their thread that I can believe that Chad and Jennifer care for Linda. But the way their children snigger at Linda behind her back is inexcusable. It's one thing to do some good natured teasing. But (and I am sorry for repeating myself) NOBODY in my family would ever laugh at my daughter, or tease my son, nephews, or my cousin's child, who are all on the spectrum. Because they have compassion. And everyone has been raised to be empathetic and _actually_ love each other, not just pay lip service to caring for family in wordy Instagram posts while treating each other like shit.
These people act so proud of their "faith", and behave in a decidedly un-Christian manner. Hypocrites.

My children go to a highly coveted private school! In Year 1 a boy in the spectrum was accepted which wasn’t the case in previous years! He initially caused an uproar both himself as well as to the parents! I encouraged my youngest to befriend him! He became obsessed with her , sometimes over rough but nothing dangerous! She stuck to her guns and against the tide took him under her wing! She managed with her attitude to convert the students as well as the parents and that for me is no bigger lesson learnt!
I explained to her he has a momma he goes back to everyday and she would want him to have friends too!
Today he is loved and supported by everyone and an excellent student, yes he has his moments but and yes there is sacrifice to be had on both sides but it is us that lead the way on how our children behave!
I don’t think aunt Linda was sent away at 5 because they didn’t know how to handle her! I think it is more the stigma of perfection in their community which we clearly see the inferiority complex so visible by the Griffs!

I was kind of surprised by the Aunt Linda video. I don't think I realized she was born in the 40's, or how dangerous giving birth was back then, in the US at least. There was a woman in Canada who birthed a healthy set of quintuplets alone on a farm around the same time. As sad as it is, assuming Chad is the one who lived in the tiny one room home, it makes even more sense that they would send Linda to an institution. Having an adult throw toddler sized tantrums in a room where 8-10 people were living crammed together, would be incredibly difficult.
I also didn't know Jen lost her eldest sibling to the same issue. Does anyone know what "gas" they keep talking about that blocked babies from receiving oxygen through the umbilical cord? I have never heard of this. I always assumed Aunt Linda had a chromosomal abnormality. I just wish the specialists that have raised Linda her whole life were able to teach her family how to have the same compassion. It is truly awful that they have been conditioned to make fun of her.

Re: Bonnie Hoellein: Everything stinks, click my affiliate links! | Part 62
Things were so different many, many years ago. There was no assistance with keeping someone with special needs at home. The recommendation was to place them in a home for full-time care. I don't have first hand experience, but know of others that were in a sense, "given no choice," but to put their loved one in a home. Many would be placed and forgotten about but for special occasions. It appears Linda maintained her place in the family. The grandkids do need to learn what is appropriate, and then their own children can follow suit.Kataja wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 3:52 pmWell, but then he said that the group home turned out to be a great fit for Linda. They used to give women ether during labor. I don't know if that's what they're talking about. Did they say she had a birth injury? Because she has the look of someone with a chromosomal abnormality. She doesn't look like she has Down syndrome, but there are lots of other abnormalities she could have. Lack of oxygen tends to cause things like cerebral palsy, not usually delays like Linda appears to have. My daughter had a knot in her cord _and_ the cord wrapped around her neck, but her syndrome is chromosomal. She showed no signs of ever having her oxygen cut off.Kattiness Everdeen wrote:I was kind of surprised by the Aunt Linda video. My opinion, there needs to be some serious discussion with Joel about returning to a regular job or downsize spending. This opinion is based on the amount of links Bonnie is now providing sending a signal all is not well with YouTube income and views are down further.
I also didn't think it is encouraging to hear most of their Bollie's sales were return customers meaning not as many new customers that is needed to grow a company. I would be downsizing this company with expenditures in the future. They have a robe and two sets of lounge wear that shouldn't require renting photo shoot locations, photographers, flying in models etc.
Thanksgiving...are they that far behind in uploading?
"I'll also link them I know there's a million links but like that's just the situation we're in..."

They said that both their eldest siblings suffered birth injuries due to lack of oxygen after being given "the gas". Jen's brother passed within hours, but they were told/believe it was lack of oxygen leading to Aunt Linda's condition. They did say she is functionally at the level of a 5 yr old, and were simply told she was "mentally retarded" (which they recognize is not an appropriate term in 2020). Of course they are unreliable narrators, so take it all with a grain of salt. If she had a chromosomal abnormality, I doubt they would even know it, or care to test for it.lmmomSD wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 6:29 amThey used to give women ether during labor.
