That was truly upsetting to see them react to the simple and innocent response of their own child as if she were an idiot for not having the same opinion. I myself believe in the sanctity of marriage, but you know what I don't?
It is not my (or anyone else's) right to tell others who to love, how to live their life and whether they are wrong/right to do so. I also don't believe when and if I have children that it is my right to shame them for having an opinion I don't agree with and try to use them to perpetuate my own hate via social media.
That was honestly the worst gay marriage bashing I've seen in a long time. Don't involve children in an issue that is convoluted even to adults.
Symphony was way too young to be subjected to that by her parents.

Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I have many friends and family members who are LGBT and so many of them have been treated like scum by people claiming to love everyone. I honestly don't give a flying fuck what people believe, but what I do give a fuck about is rudeness and disrespect. Not only are the Raders teaching Symphony hatred and intolerance, they're also teaching her that her opinions aren't valid and that what parents, fathers in particular, say is always right and to never disagree with or challenge authority. Sam is doing a great job at teaching Symphony to be the perfect submissive Christian housewife just like Nia.
Michael's argument is quite literally one of the stupidest arguments I've ever read. I don't think he realizes how absolutely idiotic he sounds. And him chiming in only made it worse. His argument reminds me of the guy who told me the only time it's okay to be gay is if you're in Colorado and it's -29 degrees.
