Sometimes schools will not allow students to return who are spreading lice, if she didn't have the money to keep getting lice shampoo then it makes sense they might have stayed out of school for so long. She posted a picture of them at school and its recent because alesana has the horrible hair cut.RootBeerFloatie wrote:I wonder where they got the lice though, wasn't there speculation that she pulled them out of school?

Re: RaisingEyebrows part 46
She needs to wash and dry with high heat all of the bedding, pillows, stuffed animals, hats, and anything that can fit in a washing machine that their head touched. But Tayler being super mom has never worried about buying a washer and dryer so she can only do laundry every so often. Makes me itchy thinking about lice!!!

omggggg lice is evil. My DD had it as soon as she started kindergarten and it took forever to go away!

Re: RaisingEyebrows part 46
Well wherever they got lice from, I hope that child's parent is responsible. I remember getting it a lot as a kid because of my then best friend; his mother would consistently kill them at her house, but then he'd bring them back again from his dad's, and it was a long cycle. So I hope all parents involved do something!

"I never thought that I would be dealing with lice at 22" well welcome to the real world Tayler, no one told you to get pregnant and have three/five pregnancies by the age of 20.

Same! It's making me all paranoid lol.
Lice are annoying but it's just a part of life when you have school age children. I don't know anyone who hasn't had lice at least once because they spread fast.
Keep your children's hair tied up, boys hair kept short, keep their hair clean and do regular checks and treat when necessary. Clean anything your head touches and then repeat the process in a week. My sister in law swears by spraying a water/tea tree oil mix on her daughters hair every morning before school, she hasn't had lice once since she started doing that.

Re: RaisingEyebrows part 46
Personal story alert: I never did, but my daughter has! Made me so mad, because they did dress-up at her school, and I told them, and they were very nonchalant. "Oh, yeah, she probably got it from the dress up stuff. A lot of kids have". So _wash_ the stuff! It took two tries with the lice shampoo to get it out, and the following week, my daughter cut her own (very long) hair in the middle of the night!

Re: RaisingEyebrows part 46
Bleh this thread is making me twitchy. We've never had lice either. I wonder if it's worse in warmer climates? I mean, of course they exist here, but it doesn't seem like such a problem or a certainty. After reading this thread I'm paranoid and I have no small kids around me at all!

Someone in my daughter's class had it and I freeeeeaked out. I am so paranoid about stuff like that. Our schools always send a note home if a parent reports to them that there's lice in the home.

Re: RaisingEyebrows part 46
Random but I know this girl I went to high school with who bleached her 8 year old daughters hair to get rid of lice because she kept getting them. Instead of just cleaning throughly and using the shampoo removal way.
Is bleaching your hair an effective way?! It seems harsh to put such strong chemicals on a child's scalp.

Re: RaisingEyebrows part 46
Do you want to know what's crazy? They don't even have to send kids home that have lice. You are allowed to stay at school. The school also does not have to notify the class is a student has lice. I realize some schools still notify, but they don't legally have to. They say life is annoying, but it is not harmful and doesn't spread disease and they would rather kids not miss school. Also, they say by the time they see the bug in a kids head, they have probably had it for a week or two and has already spread. Crazy right?

Re: RaisingEyebrows part 46
My son's preschool just had a kid with lice. Luckily she was the only one who had it.
His teacher sent out a text to all the parents saying the mother gave her permission to let us know...she didn't say the child's name of course.
But she said it can take up to two weeks for the actual bugs to appear in their hair.
How could she have gone a week to two weeks without noticing the eggs in their hair??
The picture she posted of them on tape were the bugs...they had to have been crawling in their hair...
Sick...
