Also, I wonder what Bryan's mom thinks of his video. I wouldn't ever put stuff out there that makes my mom look bad.

Re: DailyCambodiaLiving (Part 74)
I think the story behind Bryan's song is important, like dealing with an abusive relationship no matter what your personality is excruciating, and even harder to publicly talk about it.
In saying that, if I hadn't watched the vlogs or seen the music video I would have had no idea that the song related to that. I get in the vlog Bryan said something about capturing the 'lighter' parts of being in Idaho, but then why pair it with a music video like that? I think he had a real opportunity to put a heartfelt, emotional song out there which would connect a lot more with the 'audience he was trying to reach' (the audience in his opinion), like he could have written more about the struggles or something and had a bridge which showed how things had changed to convey his message.
Idk, that's just my opinion, I feel like the song could have been a lot more powerful and had a deeper meaning.
Also, what kinda bugs me is, I get they don't like talking about things in the past, but Bryan has a platform where he could actually make a difference. He could do fundraisers for foundations who help people who have been through what he has, or he could work with groups that deal with alcoholics and stuff, but instead he completely ignores it. I'm not saying he has to talk about it 24/7 but he could make a difference, even if it was something like 5% of sales on Idaho went to a domestic violence charity.

Oh yes I know there's a Betty Crocker book but she actually had a boxed cake in her hands that said Betty Crocker on it lol.lmmomSD wrote:I really hate to stick up for Missy, but there _is_ a Betty Crocker cookbook, so conceivably she could have been making it from a Betty Crocker recipe, but you never know with Missy. Re: DailyCambodiaLiving (Part 74)
Bryan's not going to think piano is easy when he finds out he has to read music lmao
Want to take bets on how long it is before he quits? I say a month. He couldn't even stick to those prepared healthy meals for more than a couple days.
I don't think Missy will quit, though...she just doesn't have much to do and it would give her something useful and fun as a hobby,

Re: DailyCambodiaLiving (Part 74)
A few things... why would Bryan point that stupid thing at Ollie then laugh because he was afraid of it? Such a jerk.
So another "huge" party that missy is so tired from working on it. A haunted house looks like. No missy you aren't a party planner you just have the money to put on these parties that only your family comes to since you really don't have friends. We know it's all for the vlog anyway.
Had to laugh at bryans remark about the piano ... this should only last a couple of weeks. Maybe less since his boosted board is on its way and he'll have to learn that.
The music video is so wrong in so many ways. It is a knock off of "where the wild things are" and another one I can't remember the name of. So do we think he spoke to his mom a day least gave her a heads up about it? Probably not
So I had a crummy childhood but like others have said, we go on and don't use those experiences for gain. His whole speech at the start of today's vlog was a joke. I'm sorry but it was.
These two only use things like this (childhood and ttc) stories when they want to make $$$.
Most people that come from abusive childhoods try to get past it even though it's always there. Hope this makes sense.
I just don't buy his whole story.

Re: DailyCambodiaLiving (Part 74)
Yeah it does, I figure people either go down the path of trying to live a normal life and not have it affect them, or they become a strong advocator and talk about it regularly. (I'm not saying either of those is better or worse by the way) With Bryan and Missy it seems like things only come up when its convenient, and it would be different if Bryan had been all like "This has been dwelling in my mind for a while and I needed to get it out there as a form of therapy" but the song doesn't even seem to be related to abuse, rather I took it as him whinging that he grew up in a small town. He even said at the start that he didn't want to focus on that part of his life in the song, that he wanted to focus on the happier section. I reckon he went with a 'poppish' song to get the iTunes views, then went with 'emotional' for the youtube views.janem wrote:A few things... why would Bryan point that stupid thing at Ollie then laugh because he was afraid of it? I agree with everything you said though, I wouldn't be hating on him if the song seemed related to his trauma and that he actually seemed genuine in trying to show that time of his life, but it seems off.

Re: DailyCambodiaLiving (Part 74)
Exactly. If all this really happened, yeah it sucks and it's not fair. But he and Missy only bring it and their losses up when they're being interviewed or there's a chance to get money or views. It's disingenuous at best. I thought Missy said she wanted to help people deal with loss. I don't mean she needs to mention it every day, or Bryan needs to plug Al-Anon every day. But Pregnancy Loss Awareness Day passed with no mention, and October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Not a peep the whole month.

Thanks. So she is a jerk. I didn't want to watch the vlog to find out, so thanks for telling me! They make me twitch. I can only watch on mute except when Finn is on-screen.fossilfinger wrote:Unless my memory is faulty, yes, she actually showed the box.lmmomSD wrote:I really hate to stick up for Missy, but there _is_ a Betty Crocker cookbook, so conceivably she could have been making it from a Betty Crocker recipe, but you never know with Missy. I wonder if Bryan got the idea for a piano at Grandma Griffith's house, leaning on the piano like some lounge singer...

No guns. Ok here's a gun just don't shoot people. Nope, no more guns. Here Ollie look at this gun as I shoot you with it and laugh.
Ollie was clearly scared. Knock your shit off Bryan. Honest to God you're an idiot. Who thinks it's a good idea to aim a gun at their son, have their son shoot them and their dog. Even if it is pretend... it's irresponsible.

Re: DailyCambodiaLiving (Part 74)
God forbid they do actual parenting...either don't have guns at all or take them away if Ollie is shooting people. But then they'd have to deal with tantrums and whining and I guess they're above that. Gotta maintain the cool parent image!

This is why I believe Bryan has good intentions, but he fails at executing them correctly.Lurker4Life wrote:I think the story behind Bryan's song is important, like dealing with an abusive relationship no matter what your personality is excruciating, and even harder to publicly talk about it.

Re: DailyCambodiaLiving (Part 74)
I don't agree with having toy guns, but a lot of people give them to their kids but specifically teach them not to shoot at any living things. I fail to understand why Bryan would think it was a good idea to teach Ollie it was okay to shoot at people. He has done this more than once.Lurker4Life wrote:And so much for no guns, now its here's a gun, lemme shoot you in the face
Re: DailyCambodiaLiving (Part 74)
I actually kinda liked the music video (hides)
My husband dislikes them more than I do and kinda liked it well enough too. He thought that the melody of the song was good, but the lyrics were awful.
I feel the same way. The melody of the song keeps getting stuck in my head (ugh) but I hate the lyrics. Not only because they don't really make sense, but also because they are so egotistical with the bow to the royals crap.
The video has some beautiful imagery, most of the acting is good, and the editing is good. But it totally doesn't match with the song lyrics.
And Bryan looks so awkward while he is trying to dance and sing, as usual.

Re: DailyCambodiaLiving (Part 74)
Ollie went number two in the backyard....which I can guarantee has not been his first time since Mithy was "watching" him....or busy on her stupid projects that other people are doing but she gets the credit for (major eye roll)
I don't understand how Bryan goes on and on about how amazing she is.....for what exactly??
The box of donuts looked like they were really old...probably didnt know what to do them so the guy brought them over to Bryan's.....because anything that involves food must also involve Bryan hahahaha
