People also get sick more in the winter because they're more likely to touch things while wearing gloves, which they don't wash as often as they would their hands. Temperature does not make you sick.

Re: C&K - Boss Babies Part #15
Oh didn't she add it's being tired that is the main factor in getting sick, at least with a cold, because it weakens your immune system, and _not_ picking your nose, against popular believe (so ironically _not_ the germs actually)? And this is on basis of research. But o Katie is so highly educated! Yet another example in my book Katie isn't really that intelligent (and why you should always separate education from intelligence), like when Gaines had mouth-foot disease, and Katie didn't notice Gaines said she was hurting in her mouth, which Katie understood as the usual hurting in your throat when having the flue, or cold, or throat infection.askeptichere wrote:Hey, did you know that cold weather does not cause colds? Germs do. Thanks Katie. I never knew.

Defensive much, after reading us complaining here about the coldness in their house?? It should be about the quality of life in my opinion. It's about how comfortable your children are feeling, cozily dressed with some fabric on their skin, being well taken care after, in a nice warm shirt, with soft fabric, in a house with the cozy feeling of the heater being on. What's more exciting than coming home from having played in the cold snow, putting the heater on, and drinking hot chocolate or a warm healthy home-made soup with vegetables and meat (yes meat Katie, preferably with a lot of fat, which is crucial to the development of their brain (and for the health of our adult brains as well)? Respecting your children is the best loving gift you can give your children in my humble opinion, with which I mean listening to their body. It's not love and money, it's respect that is the most important.

I couldn’t care less about what it was that she was harping on. It’s just another example of her “I know best” attitude. Dogs and chocolate, they keep a tree up with young children because they parent the right way, cold doesn’t cause illness, etc.
It is the way in which she says these things that grinds my gears. I’m sure it gets annoying when people comment constantly about things that aren’t 100% true, but they’ve been vlogging for what, 6 years now? Ignore it.
And if she said being tired contributes to illness, no wonder her kids are sick all the time. They don’t eat dinner until 8, and are up until 11. They’ve never had those kids on a schedule that is good for young children. Brooks shouldn’t be napping until 6pm. No wonder they don’t get quality time as a couple. They’d rather keep their kids up until all hours of the night so they can sleep in in the morning.

It's still cold and flu season where I live and it rarely gets cold enough to wear gloves.RootBeerFloatie wrote:People also get sick more in the winter because they're more likely to touch things while wearing gloves, which they don't wash as often as they would their hands. Okay then that obviously doesn't apply to you, but it does apply to the people who have to wear gloves. Crazy how that works.fossilfinger wrote:It's still cold and flu season where I live and it rarely gets cold enough to wear gloves.RootBeerFloatie wrote:People also get sick more in the winter because they're more likely to touch things while wearing gloves, which they don't wash as often as they would their hands. recent research by yale has shown that your immune system does slow down with the cold weather and more research has shown that having cold feet made you more likely to get a cold in the following days but go off i guess

For crying out loud. No. Just, no. Don’t quote research you don’t understand.27___11 wrote:recent research by yale has shown that your immune system does slow down with the cold weather and more research has shown that having cold feet made you more likely to get a cold in the following days but go off i guess
That research didn’t show that cold weather suppresses your immune system. It showed that your immune system isn’t as strong if your nasal passages are dry. Cold temperatures can contribute to dry nasal passages. As can hot, dry temperatures.
That’s correlation, not causation.

I agree! My kids were in daycare from a newborn to when they went to school. They were never as sick as their kids are. They can't always blame it on the daycare.askeptichere wrote:I couldn’t care less about what it was that she was harping on. It’s just another example of her “I know best” attitude. It makes me laugh that we get into this same discussion every winter on this thread. I 100% agree with katie, but i have to sit back and giggle at this back and forth every time the temps start changing...
Re: C&K - Boss Babies Part #15
Does anyone think Cullen and Katie are going to start looking at their finances differently now that they've seen how quickly they could be demonetized? If it's looking more and more like the channel has plateaued, and like Katie will have to return to work, then aren't they actually hurting her career prospects the longer she stays at home? I can't imagine having her life public is good for her career, and excessive time away is never good. People want their children seen by the best, and most current professionals. Not by someone who is rusty.

Well they don’t seem to be watching what they spend even with their views and subscribers tanking. People who are worried about income don’t drop $1000 on a Christmas tree. I wouldn’t be surprise if Katie is looking for possible openings or contacting her previous employer for a part time position at least.BadWolf wrote:Does anyone think Cullen and Katie are going to start looking at their finances differently now that they've seen how quickly they could be demonetized? Re: C&K - Boss Babies Part #15
This was discussed a million years ago but my internet has been down all weekend from the snowstorm (went to bed Thursday with a 50% chance of rain, woke up Friday to a phone call at 5am saying school was cancelled and we wound up with over 8in of snow. I was completely SHOCKED to say the least) but i agree with this 100%. We just turned our furnace on this past month. If we had a fireplace or gas logs i would have waited even longer. It's not unbearable cold at all.askeptichere wrote:When Katie showed the thermostat, I just assumed they weren’t running the heat at all. Especially since they tend to keep the doors open because it’s milder weather in Alabama. So when the weather got colder they just didn’t put the heat up, and that’s why it was 65 in their house.
I’m in Illinois, and our thermostat is set at 68 in the winter. We just wear layers. Gaines was cold because she just got out of the bath and was only wearing a robe with wet hair. 65 isn’t unbearable if you have on appropriate clothes.

Re: C&K - Boss Babies Part #15
Their latest sponsored video is really approaching child acting territory. Gaines was clearly the star of that commercial, and she even had lines. 50% or more of their revenue from that video should go directly into a savings account for her.
This is the 2nd commercial that they've posted outside of their daily vlogs. I wonder why companies would rather advertise this way instead of embedded within a vlog. I would imagine most people would skip it entirely because you can definitely tell that it's just an advertisement.

That money will be long gone by the time Gaines is old enough to spend it. She better hope for an inheritance from Grandoc because I don't see K&C having extra money to go around.askeptichere wrote:Their latest sponsored video is really approaching child acting territory. I feel like this is what C&K are banking on, and that's why they don't seem to be concerned with they way their channel is doing, and the YT adpocolypse.Nuna wrote:That money will be long gone by the time Gaines is old enough to spend it. CK are second only to Bonnie for exploiting their kids when sick or upset so let's see if the YouTube hammer comes down on them next

Re: C&K - Boss Babies Part #15
Why does everyone overlook E&J? Jared had had a chance to fix a bunch, but he's had scared baby vids, scared toddlers, sad baby, sad toddler, bee sting, lost toddler, medical emergencies, hurt grandma, poop blowout, doctor visits (complete with naked blurred out thumbnails), etc.... There are so many that he hasn't even had a chance to fix them all. Bonnie isn't the worst, she was just the first that of that crew to get hit. They are all culpable, and I think E&J actually have far more in number.RootBeerFloatie wrote:CK are second only to Bonnie for exploiting their kids when sick or upset so let's see if the YouTube hammer comes down on them next
Plus it looks like the two week doctor visit one that he was told was embedded in a pedo website is going to be the very last one he changes. It has 1.5 million views. C&K are bad, but no one is that bad.

Re: C&K - Boss Babies Part #15
SlyFox is as bad. I mentioned this on Bonnie's thread-- they have one of their 10 year old daughter, with her bathing suit top coming off her shoulder in the thumbnail. It's a bee sting one. It has 33 million views. Tell me they don't know where those views came from. And they try to be so sanctimonious. "Do something nice for someone!" Gag. Subscribe so we can keep exploiting our kids!
Ellie and Jared are horrible. I am SO hoping that they get hit _hard_. And I have said so several times. So it's not everybody overlooking E&J.
Cullen and Katie use Gaines or Brooks "upset, in distress or hurt" constantly. So do Ellie and Jared. And others. I think they all need to be smacked upside their figurative heads. It seems like the only way to really get their attention is to hit them in the wallet.

Re: C&K - Boss Babies Part #15
I don't really watch E&J anymore so I never see their thumbnails or titles, but do know that Cullen recently photoshopped blood onto his daughter's face so I'd say that was pretty bad
