I also couldn’t believe today’s vlog. Absolutely disgusting parenting. It’s cruel. My son is the same age as Chad and I could not imagine taking his bedroom from him as punishment. I don’t even have the words to describe how shocked I am. It’s a basic right. Chad’s punishments always seem a lot worse than the other kids. It then seems even more cruel that he then got the smaller room whilst his little brother got the bigger room with the bathroom and got it all decorated. I feel like Chad just says stuff he knows Ruby wants to hear just for an easy life. Ruby is far to controlling over Chad. Ruby will just get defensive over it like she always does though if she addresses the comments.

So this explains why Russell "kicked him out" of their old room in the old house, it wasn't that, Ruby just took it away from him. I agree with you and a comment on Ruby's IG, its mental abuse, period. My question is how does she keep a punishment up for that long? For example, if Abby got horrible grades last year, why doesn't she get a chance to redeem herself the next year? Surely there are incidents where she needs a phone? As for Chad, honestly, I just think they hate/resent him on some level for some reason. There are people who, unfortunately , don't need or should not be parents. I think the whole family needs therapy and an environment where they can vent all their grievances out with one another and actually listen.rulatows000 wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 10:41 am This vlog was really disturbing to watch. Chad has been sleeping on the floor for SEVEN MONTHS?!?! That is not discipline, that is cruel and unusual punishment. What he did was mean, but that constitutes maybe getting grounded for a week or he has to do Russell's chores for a week, but really, sleeping on the floor for seven months is abusive. This whole, 'I don't give anything back for at least six months' is completely ridiculous. Six months is a long, long time, at that point those kids are just going to say, "Oh, I'm just not getting it back, oh well, I can do whatever I want now." I get the not giving it back within a week or putting a timeline on it, but if they've been consistently being good for a couple weeks, give those poor kids back their stuff. Chad has had literally everything taken away from him and not given back, to the point that they have to take a bed away from him as punishment. What would have happened if he acted up after getting his room/bed taken away? Would they have taken his clothes away? His food? Given him a hundred lashes? Ruby is seriously treading some dangerous waters, if she's so keen on disciplining her kids but they already have everything taken away, what is she going to do next? I can't help but wonder what other stuff is going on behind the cameras. If there are kids being forced to sleep on the floor for punishment, then I can imagine there's probably a lot of other extreme punishment going on. This family seriously needs to be checked up on, because this vlog just revealed that Ruby is really sick in the head and thinks that taking away basic rights and the means for a child to be safe and secure is ok.

IG is lit up on Ruby!!! I was reading the comments and boom, she starts deleting them! 1.1 k have thumbs down her vlog! That vlog today was unreal! Why can't Kevin's parents step up for their grandkids? Her parents probably don't have a problem with what Ruby is doing.Happy+Charlie wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 11:23 am LOL, as I was reading them, she deleted all of today's comments on the photo of Ruby and Eve. How do you report a vlog?
Like someone mentioned, you could tell even Russell was over Ruby and her nonsense!

Re: 8 Passengers: Spreading a Disease while Doing As I Please | Part #16
I wonder if the recent vlogs Chad has done have been deliberate by him to make others aware of the conditions they put on him. It was through his vlogging we saw the bathroom, then bedroom without doors. While showing his cologne display we saw the listing on his bathroom mirror instructing him on how to be a "good" boy. Then, today, he volunteered the information that he's been sleeping on the floor and why. Ruby seemed genuinely surprised that he shared this--maybe because she knows it's going a little too far, however, she could have left it out. So, my guess is, she thought she would get pats on the back, once again, for her parenting style, and sad to say, it's backfired, cause people don't like this.sheltiefan wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 11:38 amIG is lit up on Ruby!!! Someone defending Ruby on one of the comments was saying the kids are good, they don't lie, they have no bad traits that we see, so clearly Ruby and kevin are doing things right. My question, then why do the kids have no toys, and every bit of entertainment has been taken away from them? I hope this gets Ruby and Kevin in trouble, and in the end they learn how to parent better.
As to the other grandparents stepping in, I think in their mormon community (not all mormons) they live very old-fashioned ways. They turn a blind eye to abuse and wrongdoing. It's between the wrongdoer and God, or the church. Otherwise, how can any aunt, uncle, or grandparent watch silently while their own flesh and blood is being turned into a broken person.

There used to be a button to report whether it was abusive/offensive/inappropriate, and I haven't seen that for a while. Even had to subscribe to her briefly because I thought that was why I wasn't seeing it.emma2948 wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 11:30 amHave no idea. We could only hope a celebrity would view her vlog and it could go viral (in a bad way for Ruby). This happened to Katie Bower of Bower Power blogs, if nothing else, it caused Katie Bower public humiliation and hopefully made her think before doing/saying things about her child.

I just found on an Instagram post of Ruby's that some user has put one of my comments from on here word for word for their own, lol. Fine by me. I'm shocked it has not been removed yet, it was regarding Ruby being the entitled one.

On mobile you can click the three dots in the top right corner of the video player and hit “report” and choose a reason, no further questions to answer. On a computer the three dots are below the video player next to “share” and “save”. And just a reminder the dislike button is right there tooHappy+Charlie wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 11:58 amThere used to be a button to report whether it was abusive/offensive/inappropriate, and I haven't seen that for a while. Tomorrow’s video will just be full of excuses why she did the right thing. She won’t accept that it’s wrong. No doubt she’ll tell us, or have Chad tells us, that he doesn’t mind and that he’s learned a lesson and learned how to be “humble” she never admits she’s ever wrong. She turns it back on the viewers. She’s such a lazy parent now.

I get that Chad didn't treat Russell right. I get not wanting them to share the same room so until they moved, sleeping somewhere else (like the living room). You could've let him sleep on the couch or put cushions on the floor for him, etc and then when you moved let him sleep in HIS room since Russell wouldn't be in there. Seven months without a bed or bedroom? That is definitely excessive.
I'd get angry with people taking my stuff. It's mine. Don't touch it. Maybe because my parents didn't take my stuff..
Russell wasn't feeling shame. He was feeling ANGRY. He's had so much taken away and Covid-19 hasn't helped things. He didn't want you to FILM him. Talking to him is one thing, FILMING him is another. I hated it when my mom even just told my doctor the times I had an attitude or was a brat. Let alone THE WORLD. Ruby, talk to your children in PRIVATE. Not everything needs to be on camera.
Yes, he does have the choice to be happy, sad, angry, etc. She could've given him some hope and suggestions though. You won't have electronics, but you can play board games, card games, write letters to your cousins, draw, play imaginary games, play with your toys, ride your bike, use chalk, play basketball, soccer, create your own games, make and do an obstacle course, play with Dwight, exercise, etc. Sometimes you have to help people and suggest a different way of looking at things, especially children. They can't act or think like adults because they're NOT adults. Step up your game, Ruby!

I can't wait to see how she spins this to make it sound like it was the right thing to do. Like others have said she will not admit to it being anything other than good parenting and the right decision by she and Kevin. I won't be surprised either (as someone else state) if Chad chimes in too that he was in agreement--what other choice does he have but to side and agree with Kevin and Ruby. He was given the choice to go to private or public school, he choice public and has paid heavily for it being the wrong choice in Ruby's eyes. Because he choice public, she would not buy clothes or other necessities for him like a book bag. While for the private school, she had bought him a new wardrobe to include a blazer while he was on the trail. We all remember Chad chose to separate himself from the group on his hike and he's used to sleeping on a bare/hard ground, so nothing new for him. The big problem I have with their excessive punishments is he is stripped of human comforts a person should have. It is almost emotional abuse. You can see it in Chad's eyes, he is a very empty person, he looks sad, A LOT!CandleSand wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 12:44 pm I get that Chad didn't treat Russell right. As far as Russell, Ruby has already stated it is not her responsibility to figure out entertainment for her children. If they are bored, it's their fault. She misses the mark so much in knowing what is kindness/being motherly/helpful and what is being an enabler/coddling. She's quite happy for her children to be miserable and sad and thinks any way of doing or giving them something that will make them happy is coddling them. How is it Jennifer comes off as a sweet ole grandmother, but we all know Ruby's issues stem from her growing up years. That's probably why she's so anxious to have grandkids, she can be painted in a better light, so she thinks.
Re: 8 Passengers: Spreading a Disease while Doing As I Please | Part #16
Personally, I'm still quite disappointed with the fans who turned away from Ruby only because of this video. How did they not realize how awful of a mother Ruby was earlier then this??? I'm only 17, when I started watching them, I only really watched the going back to school videos (because I was curious to see how they pay for 5 kids). Then I realized that they actually had 6 kids, not 5, and that they sent 1 away for "bad behaviour." Immediately that threw me off and as soon as I watched more videos, I realized it was the parents fault and it was a result of their lazy parenting that caused Chad to begin acting out. They couldn't parent him, so they decided to send him away and that was that. And then watching even more videos on them it because so clear to me how awful parents they really are. So I really don't get the fans (especially those who are a lot older then me) who are just realizing now (after today's vlog) that, "Oh hey, maybe Ruby isn't a saint since she's made her kid sleep on the floor for months as punishment." I'm so done with these fans because they are just as much idiots as Ruby is for only realizing her awful parenting skills now, I mean thank God they are done with her and all, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of them immediately forgave Ruby after she posts some sort of "I'm sorry" video. Anyway, point is, a lot of her fans who only realized her idiot mothering skills now are just as much morons as Ruby is.

I am scared for what she is going to come up with tomorrow. It’s going to be more of the self-righteous bullshit you can see in her eyes in the Instagram stories. She loves to throw around that claim that she knows she’s doing something right when she gets such a strong reaction out of people, even when it’s overwhelmingly bad. It makes her feel above all the negative comments when she says that because she thinks the more negativity people give her the more they’re fueling the positive image she has of herself.
It’s not “haters” giving her negativity here — this family thinks anyone who disagrees with their horrible parenting are just haters because they have the few supportive DMs to back them up. I feel sickened by this.

I found it extremely disturbing how Shari was so keen on lashing Eve and Russell. Joke or not it wasn't even funny. And the fact that Ruby and Shari were the only ones laughing about it shed some light on what kind of humans they are. I know a ton of parents who think hitting kids is okay and how it teaches them "discipline" but I used to have parents who would hit us (me and my siblings) to teach us discipline and it did absolutely no good. Now my parents are aware of how harmful it was and have begun to educate other parents on discipline that does not involve hitting your kids. I think the fact that they were willing to change was what made me begin to love them so much, but the fact that Ruby will actually probably turn to hitting her kids next (thanks to Shari's advice) is terrifying to me. We all know Ruby doesn't give a crap about her kids, wouldn't surprise me if she began hitting them as a form of cruel punishment next.rulatows000 wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 10:41 am This vlog was really disturbing to watch. I think about how much Chad seemed to enjoy Anastazi, or whatever it's called. Obviously this could be putting on a face that his parents are making him donor. But honestly it sounds like his current life is not much different then the life on Anastazi, no bed, clothes, electronics and ECT. It was probably a saving grace that he didn't have to be around his family or constatntly be filmed. Idk about removing the door, I think it may be necessary is the worst of situations. But evoking a bed/room is never acceptable. That is the kind of stuff you read about in memoirs of people that were severally abused. And it broke my heart to hear Chad saying stuff about not having any friends or not feeling safe. It seems the kids are becoming more open about the injustices and frankly abuse they endure. I hope Ruby continues to expose herself and her channel gets taken down, or better yet she gets reported to CPS. I fear for anyone who ascribes to her life coaching.

You guys can report the video. I just found out how. But you'll have to click on the video on YouTube so just hope she doesn't get any revenue off of it. We could only hope a celebrity would view her vlog and it could go viral (in a bad way for Ruby). This happened to Katie Bower of Bower Power blogs, if nothing else, it caused Katie Bower public humiliation and hopefully made her think before doing/saying things about her child.
1) Go the the vlog on YouTube, click on it. And click on the 3 white dots in the corner of the video.
2) Click Report (it's the first option)
3) Choose one of the reasons given for reporting the video. I chose "Child Abuse" and then clicked "Report" at the bottom right hand corner. Everyone please report the video!! The more reports the better!
