It's not that they encourage Gaines to play with Jackson, or even Ollie. It's feeding into the myth that they are all eternal best friends and their children are too. The minions eat that crap up. It's just as bad as shipping the kids as far as I'm concerned. I would actually feel better about it if they did see Jackson more. This whole "We're all best friends! Look at our hot tub double date ! We're going to be friends foeverrrr! And so are our kids!" Even though they don't see each other very often, and have next to nothing in common. But nine year olds love it, and are all invested in the DBEJCK friendship, so let's give them what they want.

Anyone else notice how Calvin was mostly absent from C&K's vlogs? Maybe they can't stand Screechy either. It was almost like they ignored him.Baconsgirl wrote:For you e&j watchers does Calvin act up a lot?

I think that goes along with the unfortunate reality that they REALLY are friends. Maybe they really think they will be friends forever and the kids will grow up around each other. I mean me and my best friend live 500 miles apart and I only get to see her a couple times a year at best. But I still hope that we will be friends for the rest of our lives. I've kinda come to terms with the whole they really must be friends for real idea. Yuck.lmmomSD wrote:It's not that they encourage Gaines to play with Jackson, or even Ollie. Re: C&K: Golf Carts and Thunderstorms. Part #12
Something still seems off between Ellie and Katie to me. When Ellie has Bonnie over to watch the Bachelor does he usually sit there watching too and rubbing her feet? There is just something different about the dynamic. I agree the men are friends, but they fuss over the wives like they worry they aren't ok. I saw all the IG stories from their time together, and none reflect a natural vibe between Katie and Ellie.Playsinrain wrote:I think that goes along with the unfortunate reality that they REALLY are friends. My best friend and I have been BFFs since we were 6. We haven't lived in the same town in 40 years. Although we did live in the same state for a while. And I have other Navy wife friends that are scattered around the country, but we're all still close. The thing is, we don't go around yammering about how we're best friends. We just know it. I get that people can be lifelong friends. It's just the way they talk about it sounds fake and forced. Ellie always says her siblings are her best friends. Unless Katie and/or Missy is around.

Re: C&K: Golf Carts and Thunderstorms. Part #12
I think she and Ellie aren't that close, i do think that she and Missy like each other's company more. I don't see how Katie could carry on a conversation with Ellie without either having to dumb herself down or walking away perplexed as to how someone so incompetent could survive the day. At least i feel like i could carry on a reasonably educated conversation with Missy, i think Katie feels the same way. Does Katie even watch Bachelor? I think they did what Ellie wanted, bc Ellie gets what she wants.HelloSweetie wrote:Something still seems off between Ellie and Katie to me. Oh yeah i totallu agree with you there, i do not in the least think that Ellie or Missy are Katie's best friend. Its just like how happily married couples don't plaster how happy and in love they are on every thing 24/7.... if you have to prove it too yourself then its not so perfect.lmmomSD wrote:Ewwww. Re: C&K: Golf Carts and Thunderstorms. Part #12
But is this behavior really harmful for their young viewers to watch? It's not going to make them see the world in an unrealistic way when they become adults. They're saying their kids will be friends because right now in the present moment they don't see their friendship with E&J ending so of course the kids will be around each other no matter how infrequently and C&K will want to ensure their kids are friendly with them even without the constant interaction.lmmomSD wrote:It's not that they encourage Gaines to play with Jackson, or even Ollie. Just the opinion of an internet stranger. Don't take anything personally, for your own sake as well as mine.

I'm still behind on vlogs but I find it interesting that they didn't film Calvin at all in the vlogs I've watched. I mean he's 2 now and 2 year olds are normally terrors.

Bonnie never films him either. I've always attributed this to her having a natural soft spot for Jackson. If others aren't filming Cal, maybe it's because he's annoying and they don't want to encourage what they see as poor behaviour?MommaLindsey2 wrote:I'm still behind on vlogs but I find it interesting that they didn't film Calvin at all in the vlogs I've watched. Disclaimer: I have a niece that is obnoxious and spoiled af and most of us are irritated by her and therefore tend to give her less attention than her sweet and quiet sister because of it. So I could just be projecting
