Thanks! I was pregnant when she was with Calvin. I remember at the beginning thinking "oh this will be great as a FTM I can watch the daily vlogs with Calvin and see how she parents and his development so I can stay on track" what a joke lmao. Soon after Ellie with newborn Calvin, barricaded in her room nursing, ignoring Jackson, ignoring proper treatment for Calvin...changed my opinion real fast.

Double post but I just watched Ellie's IG story from the day and the amount of potatoes she made for dinner was laughable! Their food budget must be so small

And she made Bonnie buy her a candy bar.

I suspect that they compensate the little food amount with sugary stuff ...

I'll admit I don't understand/know any of the business aspects of YouTube, just going off things I've read here: I've kinda understood it that if a vlog is sponsored, there's typically not an ad before it? So are they double-dipping?

Sorry personal comparison, but since I was talking about having same due date as Ellie, and how my daughter is the same age as Calvin (my LO is just a few weeks younger I was past my due date), I watched today's vlog and my 2 year old is more on par with Jackson! Watching them colour and do their letter and numbers. My 26 month old can count to 13, draw a circle, and will draw a 1 while she's counting. She can identify colours and almost all shapes, and say 90% of the ABC, as well as identify some of the letters when they are all jumbled up. Why isn't Ellie practicing number and letters with Calvin.


Also messed up just letting Calvin go into the water that deep further than an arms length with no floaty. When he went all the way under you could tell Jared was honestly getting panicky and leapt to get him, but Ellie didn't even react? Not even a gasp. What a psycho.

Wow, no kidding! I went swimming in Lake Michigan with my 5 year old nephew recently. We were jumping the waves and every time a wave came I grabbed his hand and held on tight. He had a life jacket on but it was still scaring the crap out of me. I would've reacted exactly like Jared did.

I was pregnant the same time as Calvin too! That's how I came across their vlogs. I enjoyed her pregnancy updates throughout and was looking forward to monthly baby updates and she really dropped the ball on her channel after he was born.
I feel the same way with the way she treats Calvin. Some of it has to be second child syndrome...he just gets overlooked because Jackson can understand more so it's easier to teach him things. But Calvin would totally benefit from working alongside Jackson, I bet he would learn quickly too!
They've always done this with Cal though. I'd be doing the same things with my Calvin aged son that they do with Jackson only, and I'm like I bet Calvin would enjoy that too. But he was always just a lump thanks to Ellie.

Me too me too! My son was born on June 4th, 2015, which I'm pretty sure was Calvin's due date. We watch a lot of Sesame Street and simple songs so my little guy knew his ABC's and numbers by his second birthday. I'm so so surprised that Calvin hasn't had any practice on that (That we have seen anyway). His lack of language skills are surprising too. I get that every child develops differently, but I honestly think Calvin has been babied too much, which has hindered his language skills.

Completely OT, but I just want to share a random observation I made that I found pretty interesting.

Most of the time when I'm at home cleaning or doing emails, I'll have YouTube on the tv on autoplay in the background. Last night, some old E+J vlogs began to play. First, was their 2014 Christmas special titled, "BABY'S FIRST CHRISTMAS ADVENTURE!!" It caught my attention, because of how cute Jackson was (duh), and I thought, "Wow. This is the E+J that I loved/miss."

Anyway, directly following that, their 2015 Christmas special titled, "EXCITING CHRISTMAS MORNING!" began to play. You. Guys. The stark contrast in Ellie between the two videos is completely shocking - with only a year between the two. She is literally a completely different person in each, looks wise of course, but it's the change in her personality that is the most shocking.

If anyone has the time/interest, I would highly highly recommend watching the two in succession (not even the entire thing, because they're both like, 30 min. each. You only need to watch a few minutes from each to get the idea). We obviously all know how much Ellie has changed, but these two vlogs are a prime, shocking example. It's honestly kind of sad...because you can vividly tell there is something deeply...wrong with her, for lack of better words.

First, was their 2014 Christmas special titled, "BABY'S FIRST CHRISTMAS ADVENTURE!!" It caught my attention, because of how cute Jackson was (duh), and I thought, "Wow. This is the E+J that I loved/miss."

Anyway, directly following that, their 2015 Christmas special titled, "EXCITING CHRISTMAS MORNING!" began to play. You. Guys. The stark contrast in Ellie between the two videos is completely shocking - with only a year between the two. She is literally a completely different person in each, looks wise of course, but it's the change in her personality that is the most shocking.

If anyone has the time/interest, I would highly highly recommend watching the two in succession (not even the entire thing, because they're both like, 30 min. each. You only need to watch a few minutes from each to get the idea). We obviously all know how much Ellie has changed, but these two vlogs are a prime, shocking example. It's honestly kind of sad...because you can vividly tell there is something deeply...wrong with her, for lack of better words.

Double post, but I just watched the vlog, and oh my goodness gracious. That clip of Cal whining on Ellie's hip was so hard to watch. I think this is the first time that I wasn't irritated by his whining whatsoever, but I just felt so sincerely bad for him. Jeez. He's so clearly distraught and frustrated, you can feel it through the screen, but he doesn't have any words to use. Poor, poor little guy.

P.S. I agree with everyone about the water scene. It was ridiculous and gave me anxiety. I know Jared was right there, but they should be teaching him not to go in past a certain point...like, are you kidding me? Now he's more likely to try something similar when no ones there... that's scary as hell.

It is disturbing to me how little supervision little Calvin gets. He's barely two and I witnessed him so far away from them right by the water while jareds back was to him and Ellie was busy filming. There was also a point where he fell hard on the gravel path in the background and neither one noticed. Thankfully they were right there when he fell in the water but he had lots of opportunity to fall in before they started watching him. I don't even let my 3.5 year old go that far away from me especially a child Calvin's age.

It was kinda Calvin's fault he was so mad, as Ellie explained it-- he wouldn't get or stay in his car seat, so he didn't get to go with Jared. Like "too bad, so sad.. you want to be a brat & not listen, you don't get to go." However, with that said, I couldn't help but think that maybe there's something wrong with the car seat, like the adjustments are too tight on him & that's why he doesn't want to get in it. With no words to use, he can't relay that to them. They did just say he had some kind of growth spurt, as his church shoes supposedly fit 1 week but were too small the following. It'd be like them to not notice his straps being too tight!

I wasn't quite as nervous about him going in the water with Jared right there as I was when he was off in the distance behind them wandering around the edge of the creek! He was way too far away from them being that close to the water!
