Just to clarify, I havent had an abortion, but id like to think if i was in a situation to desperately need one - the decision wouldn’t be handed to me by someone with a penis. Im all for freedom of choice and women having the right to decide what to do with their own bodies. Sometimes its not as simple as an unplanned pregnancy - rape, abusive relationship, defects with the baby, maternal health crisis, etc. For most who choose abortion that decision haunts them for life, but every woman has the right to make her own choice.

Having done IVF myself, I am curious what they would have done had 1 or more embryo been considered not viable or potentially not acceptable for transfer.

For example, back in 2002, our doctor fertilized 3 eggs on a Saturday. They called us Sunday to let us know one embryo was developing as expected but they were watching the other two. When I went for my transfer on Monday we had a decision to make. One embryo was very strong and developing as normal, one was not viable and the other was developing but they were concerned if they transferred it along with the "good" one, it would potentially cause issues and we could end up with no pregnancy at all. So, we chose to transfer the good one and dispose of the other. They could have been faced with that same issue and if their belief is the same as a lot of others, life begins at the moment of conception. Therefore, in the belief of others, my husband and I aborted a child. What would they have done?

Exactly. I've been through IVF as well. None of my eggs were 100% so I chose not to have any implanted and did the same as you. However, during the egg collection there was one in the fallopian tube that they couldn't get to so the surgeon blasted some good stuff at it and it took. Hence my 30 year old 6 foot bearded miracle. He has absolutely no right to tell any woman what to do let alone hide behind his religion to do it.

I looked at the abortion post, and had to step away before I fell too far down the rabbit hole.
However, in the comments I did read there were a few people who said his hashtag was over the top and unfollowed them on all social. Imagine my shock (sarcasm) when some said that those who unfollowed were the immature ones . Not the exact wording but I am trying to avoid the rabbit hole because I would be tempted to leave a rant and am not in the mood to deal with anything this morning. Not that I am admitting I comment or do anything other then look at the insanity of their social media.

It looked to me like the only people who were aggressive in their comments were a couple of pro lifers. Everyone else was able to discuss it in calm, respectful way with an understanding and non judgemental way. He was called out for bring judgemental more times then he’s had takeaway this week.

I looked at some comments, but when I started to get that “I want to post something, but most likely it will set off a bunch of immature KADs and it’s not worth the effort” I stopped. I’ve learned my limits and know my boundaries.

So Tyjudge, because we know one of your 6374727 jobs is to read here, have some compassion. Adopt a baby born as a result of a horrible circumstance, VOLUNTEER at a woman’s center, so something to show these women and babies that your heavenly Hod loves them just as much as He loves you.
