Okay, this is totally off topic but I don't think it's necessary to start a new thread about this, so forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong place. I have a quick question about benefits: do you need to have a mental health evaluation in order to apply for food stamps in the state of New York? I tried to look Google it but I couldn't find anything like that? Because that sounds absolutely ridiculous to me, but someone told me that they had to be evaluated by a psychologist (/psychiatrist?) when they applied for food stamps and I think they're lying about it.

I don't know the specifics, he just said he went to apply for food stamps a few months ago, so they made him go to a psychologist twice and he was told he's mentally fine. It doesn't make sense to me. He lives with his mother so I'm not even sure he'd be able to get any benefits other than disability? If he was applying for disability benefits based on his mental health I would understand the need for an eval, but he specifically said food stamps so...?

I hope you were able to get things figured out, HOK! Hugs to you!

Also, this is how I feel about 90% of the people in Modesto. I didn't know that so many people could lack common sense and reading comprehension skills. Some of these people have masters degrees, even PhDs. It's absolutely mind blowing.

Am I the only one who finds newborn footprint tattoo's tacky? I can understand why some people might like them; personally they make me on edge though. :?

Hey ladies !!! Its been forever since I have ventured into the off topic threads or even posted at all. I have been in the background kind of trying to keep up with Taylers threads but its been a really busy and hectic time. I am so sorry to see that some of the ladies I always enjoyed talking with and seeing post seem to have disappeared but I do have some AMAZING news to share !!
I am pregnant with baby #2 and due in December !!! Two different doctors telling me it just wasn't going to happen for us and now we have our second miracle on the way. I am truly so happy and excited. And e found out we are having another little girl which is wonderful !! I just wanted to jump on quickly and say Hi before bed and I am hoping to start getting on here more often now that life seems to be getting less crazy for the moment.

Congrats, Clutch!

King, I don't know if I find newborn footprint tattoos "tacky" but it's definitely something I would not personally get. The only people I've ever met with who have them are really ghetto, though, so maybe they just ruined the tattoo for me. Someone on here got a tattoo of her cat's paw print and I LOVE that idea, I might have to steal it :P

I just live in a really trashy area which is why I dislike them imo, every third woman under 25 with kids & food stamps that comes through my line seems to have at least one tattoo that is their baby's footprint. I think they're cute to a certain degree and can be meaningful to the mother/father but they've just been ruined for me personally. :(

That's cute. (:

So recently I've been attempting to teach myself how to cook "adult food" and it's been going alright in my opinion. I just feel lucky I have common sense and I know how to read directions unlike some people. :? The only time I've had the fire alarm go off so far was when I was cooking bacon for someone who wanted it burnt and I knew it was going to go off. xD I'm pretty thrilled tbh. Now I just have to eventually find some guy to be a lab rat.

Any of you watch Teen Wolf? "I fell in a hole" is by far my favorite line of the series. I'm still laughing half an hour later.

Scott: Find anything?

Stiles: Nope.

Liam: I fell in a hole.

Someone made a gifset of the scene. You're welcome.

Have you been watching season 5?

And also, I like how Dylan O'Brien's character in The Internship says "Sarcasm is my only defense". TW reference!

You don't seem super excited about this. :(
I'm not :/ I mean of course, having a child is a wonderful thing, but I wanted to at least graduate from college before being a mom. :( I'll have to wait at least two weeks to know if I'm really pregnant or not. And I thought I was infertile.

Once again I am reminded as to why I need a car so badly. I am so sick of living with inconsiderate and unreliable assholes who think everything (including others' emotions) are something to laugh at, seem to havr no empathy, and always make such a big deal about it costing money to feed me when they get money to do that and are supposed to purposely taking care of me. It really saddens methat at seventeen years old I'm basically paying for myself most of the time and have nobody to rely on. I feel like blame and a disdain are always placed on my emotions as if they aren't warranted and I just have so many things to talk about and can't wait for counseling. Sorry for the rant, my best friend is at work right now and I'm to lazy to put conviction in my rage down in a journal. Case in point, I need a car so I can escape selfish ass people and lead my own life.
