Shay has a Toyota truck and Chevy suburban. But Shay and Colette have class and don't have to have the biggest and best things. Yes they have a nice house but they deserve it.

They also bought their vehicles used. Because the Butlers, like everyone else in America, recognize that new cars depreciate a significant amount immediately once they leave the lot. But like you guys said, they will probably be leasing the Volvo. Since they "have" to have the newest things on the market, leasing may be best for them. Although in my opinion, it's better for them to buy.

If Bryan and Missy don't want that Prius, they can sure give it to me! They keep trying to make it seem like the Prius is crappy and that's why they're getting the Volvo. I would be so grateful to have that Prius, it looks nice and I don't need a ton of fancy gadgets in my car to be content.

Yeah, the way they talk about that Prius you'd think it was a death trap! I was laughing the whole time they were on the way to the dealership taking about how "they just need a safer way to get around", are you kidding me!!?? They aren't riding around in a 30 year old busted up car! Our car is a 94' Toyota wagon, and I feel plenty safe. It's not new, and not the latest and greatest, but it gets me to the grocery store!

They're just making excuses. No one NEEDS a car like the one they're getting. Just be honest and say you want a nice, big car. Whatever, who cares... But to pretend you're doing it with your family in mind when it's clearly to keep up appearances is just ridiculous!

Your last paragraph exactly, My in-laws do this and it drives me nuts! I don't care what you do with your money, but don't treat me like an idiot and act like "it makes good sense, and nothing less will do". Are you trying to convince me, or yourself? Own your decisions or you look like an immature idiot.

Pretty sure Shay bought the suburban brand new...but they were both very grateful for it and Colette actually vlogged that she almost felt guilty and cried mentioning how thankful she was for being able to buy such a nice vehicle.

I think my jaw would hit the floor if Missy or Bryan ever had that type of reaction towards anything. Yes they make the videos, and I know it takes some effort to vlog and edit...but there are SOO many youtubers who have much better content than they do (especially lately) and don't have 1/4 of the subscribers, so a little acknowledgment at how fortunate they've been is way past due...

The optimistic part of me says that at least if he's written them with Jared from Nelson at the Helm they might be a bit better - he actually has musical knowledge and talent.

The realistic part of me knows they'll still be awful because Bryan.

Just when I think Missy couldn't get any stupider, she did! "People should not be dying in cars". Why do you think people die in cars Missy? Ever heard of drink driving? Driving when you are tired? Driving when you have taken drugs? Driving while talking on the phone or texting? Or plain old driving like an idiot. There are so many reasons why someone might get into a car accident. And having a shitty Volvo isn't going to stop people doing those things. She is such an fool. Meanwhile Bryan is often driving while vlogging with the camera in his hand. The shit that comes out of her mouth is unbelievable.

So I can only think of two things with this new car business, and it's driving me crazy (pun intended).
1) they are leasing the 70k car . Ok, cheaper.. But then it's not an "investment" like missy claims in the beginning of the video, when she talks about doing their research.
2) they are buying the 70kcar. Which doesn't make any sense when they still rent their home? That just seems backwards to me.

They have a Prius that runs.. If they have 70k around put that down on a house. Or, buy a different car and put 50k down on a house? I am so confused with these two.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were planning on buying soon, it was just a couple of days ago that Missy was looking at a real estate app. They do have rentals on there but they seem pretty happy with the current rental, no real reason to move unless it was to buy.

Reading the comments from yesterday's vlog it looks like a lot of the older minions are side-eying the expensive car purchase. I bet they start noticing the spending more now.

Soon all they'll be left with are the minions, and they just keep getting younger. One of them just turned 8!

I don't understand why they think that's okay. Some people with only 1 child don't have the opportunity to go out on date nights because they don't have family to use as live in babysitters.

Ugh, I am pregnant with #4 and would love to go on as many date nights as they do...
