Double post, but I just watched the vlog, and oh my goodness gracious. That clip of Cal whining on Ellie's hip was so hard to watch. I think this is the first time that I wasn't irritated by his whining whatsoever, but I just felt so sincerely bad for him. Jeez. He's so clearly distraught and frustrated, you can feel it through the screen, but he doesn't have any words to use. Poor, poor little guy.

P.S. I agree with everyone about the water scene. It was ridiculous and gave me anxiety. I know Jared was right there, but they should be teaching him not to go in past a certain point...like, are you kidding me? Now he's more likely to try something similar when no ones there... that's scary as hell.

He was whining and fussing because he wouldnt let them buckle him in. I think Ellie is pregnant and they are trying to make Cal smarten up. It was time to go he wouksnt get in so Jackson is suppose miss swimming. I think Calvin is spoiled rotten and a few tears wont hurt him.

Completely OT, but I just want to share a random observation I made that I found pretty interesting.

Most of the time when I'm at home cleaning or doing emails, I'll have YouTube on the tv on autoplay in the background. Last night, some old E+J vlogs began to play. First, was their 2014 Christmas special titled, "BABY'S FIRST CHRISTMAS ADVENTURE!!" It caught my attention, because of how cute Jackson was (duh), and I thought, "Wow. This is the E+J that I loved/miss."

Anyway, directly following that, their 2015 Christmas special titled, "EXCITING CHRISTMAS MORNING!" began to play. You. Guys. The stark contrast in Ellie between the two videos is completely shocking - with only a year between the two. She is literally a completely different person in each, looks wise of course, but it's the change in her personality that is the most shocking.

If anyone has the time/interest, I would highly highly recommend watching the two in succession (not even the entire thing, because they're both like, 30 min. each. You only need to watch a few minutes from each to get the idea). We obviously all know how much Ellie has changed, but these two vlogs are a prime, shocking example. It's honestly kind of sad...because you can vividly tell there is something deeply...wrong with her, for lack of better words.

I'd love to read what you guys think!

They got the rocks because he loved them at google. They made a rookie parent mistake knowing how much he loved them at google thinking he would love them as much at home.

canmom2, I don't think Ellie's pregnant, but I agree with everything else you said. They certainly wouldn't have let poor, sweet Jackson get away with that when he was Calvin's age, it's about time they've started putting their foot down with Calvin!

Did you all see Calvin fall in the background right before the penny catching butterfly scene? People were commenting about it but when I actually watched it looked really intense. I'm surprised he wasn't screaming and crying...unless they cut that part out or he was just that far away they couldn't hear him. The fact he is SO FAR away scares me to death!

The problem wasn't that Jackson got the $400 rock pillows (although that was the first time we noticed Ellie spend in excess), it was that Jackson got ONLY the rock pillows. No toys, or anything fun to play with on Christmas morning!

Room decor shouldn't be a gift. Then again, neither should sheets, a coat of your own or a half used box of facial masks. The Griffith's are all kinds of messed up, so it's no surprise Ellie is weird with gift giving.

There's a "famous" clip of Daxton Butler going under when they were all at a hotel pool. Everyone had their back to him, except Colette, who was filming Shay doing "tricks" with Avia and Emmi. Colette saw him go under as she was filming, and the panic in her voice was palpable. Although they shouldn't have all had their backs to him, her response was certainly appropriate! My son and I were at a pool party, for one of his school friends, and I was sitting with my legs in the water while he was playing on the steps. He slipped off one of the pool steps, and went under for a second. I jumped off the side, in my clothes to grab him. Just watching, unconcerned isn't how you react. Things can turn tragic so quickly, and you shouldn't let your child be more than arms length away!

I posted that a page back! It was a bad fall and they didn't even notice. I would never let my child that age run around so far away from me close to water like that. If he went underwater in that brown lake he would never be found until it was too late.

I dont think it was given as decor. He loved them at google i think they thought he would really like them but i think he was ovwewhelmed on Christmas morning. Didnt they get the cozy coupe that year. I seem to remember them getting a big toy.

It is disturbing to me how little supervision little Calvin gets. He's barely two and I witnessed him so far away from them right by the water while jareds back was to him and Ellie was busy filming. There was also a point where he fell hard on the gravel path in the background and neither one noticed. Thankfully they were right there when he fell in the water but he had lots of opportunity to fall in before they started watching him. I don't even let my 3.5 year old go that far away from me especially a child Calvin's age.

I saw that too he was so far away you could barely see him. Then he was climbing on the fence. I dont think he listens and i dont think they try hard to make him listen. Thats why Jackson is so sweet he was made listen and be good. They made him listen from when he was not much more than a baby.

A viewer sent the Cozy Coupe and they pulled it out because Jackson was so disappointed.

This was when Ellie was far into her "no clutter" phase, and I'm guessing the Cozy Coupe was going to be donated just like all the Target toys were that year... including the Elmo doll that Jax loved so much and wasn't allowed to keep

Calvin has a habit of wandering now. Like I said the other day, Ellie had an IG story where she asked where Cal had picked some flowers and Noah pointed down the street. I agree with the poster that suggested Ellie was pregnancy, or at least thinks she is. Seems that Cal has suddenly been pushed from his pedestal and is now being treated like a "big boy."

_They_ didn't get the Cozy Coupe. That's the problem. It was a gift from a viewer (crazy!) And they had all those cool toys from KMart, and made Jackson donate them. And of course acted as if they had gone out and bought all the toys they donated. There was a Hot Wheels set he was practically drooling over, and they wouldn't let him keep it. They didn't care what he loved. Maybe he did like the rock pillows when they were at Google. But you don't give something like that to a two year old for Christmas. Jared realized that Christmas was a bust as far as Jackson was concerned, and pulled the Cozy Coupe out of the closet.

I think it's the added weight lately. He's never been a macho guy, but the weight he's put on makes his face rounder and he carries it around his middle so he has man-boobs.
I know I sound totally like I'm fat shaming. He's not fat. I really don't mean it that way. I'm certainly not perfect! I _wish_ I looked like Blake Lively, but I don't. I am just giving my opinion as to why he looks more feminine lately.
And HS, I think you're right. There was an Elmo toy in the KMart stuff. But I can't remember (and don't want to go back and watch) if Jackson really liked it, or if they were telling him he did. I remember thinking that Olivia would have loved that Frozen doll, but she got plenty for Christmas. B&J didn't slack off at all in the gift department for the kids! And I remember for sure that Jackson loved the Hot Wheels. They could have kept that for him. And I don't have a problem with them donating the toys. It was the way they did it-- the letting the Toys for Tots people think they bought them all, and acting so magnanimous.

Jackson liked the rocks at google because it was the only thing to play with when waiting around doing boring adult stuff. Ellie was obsessed over the fact that Jackson loved stacking and linin up rocks in the front yard (because he had no age appropriate toys and the toys were always locked up in the little closet). So she became obsessed with jacksons "thing" and made it his birthday theme in January even after the rock pillow bust on Christmas.

Not sure if this was talked about... did anyone watch Bonnie and Joel's q&a... I haven't watched her in sooo long and forgot how refreshing she is. They were soo real and didn't give the answers they thought viewers wanted to hear. I love that they said they have a plan for if YouTube shut down tomorrow and they are working on short term goals right now and the long term is for Joel to be out doing his own thing. She mentions how they cannot count on just YouTube for their future. I really do love how you can tell they truly do love each other and it is not awkward.

Yup. And the Bonnie thread is very quiet right now, probably (I'm guessing) because she's infinitely more pleasant to watch and there's much less to complain about. Sometimes I wonder what she thinks of the other sisters' vlogs.
