When people pick at posts they don't agree with. And I don't mean just simply disagreeing but making snide rude comments that bring nothing to the conversation. Then these same people wanna cry every time someone picks at their posts.

When blackswan is too much of a coward to call me out by name or directly address me on how I'm "taking my mod title too seriously." The mods here needed help and obviously I wouldn't have been recommended or made one if they didn't see me as a viable option.

Sorry to go OT but since this came up... was that done on purpose? Or is it some type of glitch?MamaJoAnna wrote:It's not taken away, just the feature letting you know who thanked you directly on the post is. Side note though I agree... The "this" or "lol/haha" posts are annoying.

I miss having it as a feature (I almost exclusively use the app) as it came in handy! And if it was done on purpose, why?

This is the best explanation I have, straight from the source. My apologies, I myself miss that feature as well.

People who insist that youtubers don't have jobs.
Their job is to make youtube videos which they in return get money for. Just because it's not 9-5 at a desk doesn't mean it's not a job.

Sorry. I'm old school. It may pay but it is not an honest job. It's bullshit to exploit your children and get paid for itZfudgeitup wrote:People who insist that youtubers don't have jobs.

If they actually had to go out of the house and work they would never survive. So stop trying to justify it. That's my opinion whether you like it or not.

Re: YTMD Pet Peeves
Youtubers who create content, come up with new video ideas, film interesting things and cut them together to make original content for their channels have jobs. Jenna Marbles, Phil Defranco, Pewdiepie--they all have jobs. People who point a camera at their kids, hit record, and then put together a ten minute video of themselves eating breakfast and playing with their kids don't have a job. As far as family vloggers are concerned, I'd say that the kids are really the ones working. Editing a ten minute vlog is nothing. And hour, tops, and that's really pushing it.

Can we make this a sticky at the top of all the threads?? Lmao. This is the most valid point I have ever seen in response to this topic.RootBeerFloatie wrote:Youtubers who create content, come up with new video ideas, film interesting things and cut them together to make original content for their channels have jobs. If you actually think that family vloggers have "jobs" then you're taking the word "job" far, far too literally. Plenty of people have "jobs" but don't actually work, and plenty of people work but don't have "jobs" (looking at you, moms). I think that's important to remember.

Re: YTMD Pet Peeves
Maybe the word income is a better way to describe it lol. As long as they have an income and aren't using my tax dollars to fund their lifestyles then I could care less about whether or not they have "jobs".Boredomatitsfinest wrote:Can we make this a sticky at the top of all the threads?? Having your parent film your everday life isn't work.RootBeerFloatie wrote:Youtubers who create content, come up with new video ideas, film interesting things and cut them together to make original content for their channels have jobs. My parents have almost everyday of my childhood an camera, and family vloggers are doing the same. They film their kids in everyday life. The only difference is that they put it online.

I'd argue that that's not the only difference, though... These YouTube kids are asked/expected to "perform" on a daily basis. They aren't simply just living their every day lives.fudgeitup wrote: Having your parent film your everday life isn't work.

You're very, VERY wrong about how much effort goes into a successful vlog. If you really think it's only an hour a day, I just can't take your opinion seriously.RootBeerFloatie wrote:Youtubers who create content, come up with new video ideas, film interesting things and cut them together to make original content for their channels have jobs. You're not considering the marketing, meetings, brand deals, etc involved in having a lucrative vlog.
Hell, I spend up to 2 hours editing my vlogs and as much as an hour making a good thumbnail. And I just do this daily video diary as a hobby. People trying to make money can't just put in an hour a day and hope for the money to roll in.
It's a job. They put in daily effort and earn a living. Just because you don't respect their line of work doesn't make it any less a career. It's no different than actors or athletes making ridiculous money for what many people do as a hobby on weekends. It's still work even if you don't think it is.

Re: YTMD Pet Peeves
Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize that I was severely underestimating how hard it was to answer emails and use photoshop on top of editing a video. I can't believe you work up to two whole hours each day. You must be so exhausted.Theirmom wrote:You're very, VERY wrong about how much effort goes into a successful vlog. Re: YTMD Pet Peeves
I'm glad you weighed in, I know you've said you vlog and I was curious how much work you feel goes into it. I'm no Bryan fan, but I hate it when he isn't given credit for the work he puts in. People tend to hate on the vlogger doing the work, and then victimize or pity the spouse that is sitting back and reaping the rewards. I find this dismissive.Theirmom wrote:You're very, VERY wrong about how much effort goes into a successful vlog. Though I will say that I think vlogging is a far easier job than most people have, and I can't take vloggers seriously when they act like they work so hard, and are somehow doing something serving others and giving so much in sharing their lives. I assume you aren't like this since it sounds like you do it as a side job and not your sole income.

Most family vloggers i see, the kids don't do anything different than normal kids.Boredomatitsfinest wrote:I'd argue that that's not the only difference, though...
