It's easy to keep a house clean when there is nobody home all day lol I am a stay at home parent with a 1 year old and 3 year old and my house stays messy. I constantly have to clean up after them. When I worked all day there was nobody home to make a mess.hey girl hey007 wrote:The thing about their house being a mess is the fact that they are two stay at home parents. Meaning they are both home together like 80% of the time. They send MG to mother's day out and grand dolly takes her once a week. They should team up and tackle what mess they have and get it over with. Katie is sick so Cullen is tending to her which is great but that means the mess just gets bigger. I think what would do them some good is if they got rid of that huge dining room table (which I've never seen them use, so it was pointless to even get it), get rid of the hutch and turn that room into a small office and turn the office into a toy/play room. They still haven't done Brooks nursery reveal have they? I think the thing isn't that they can't clean it's that they don't want to clean.
personal: my mom and dad both have full time jobs, my mom leaves the house around 6:30 m-f and comes home around 5pm between that time she has time to attend both of her jobs, pick up my younger brother from school who is 9, make sure he get's his homework done, makes dinner, cleans up, gets clothes washed and dried (not always put away right then and there), and still has at least a an hour to kill. Her house isn't spotless but it is clean enough that if anyone were to randomly stopped by she wouldn't be embarrassed with the look of her house.

It's also easy to clean your house when you have nothing else to do though

The majority of their mess isn't caused by Gaines and Brooks. They have crap piled everywhere. Didn't GrandDolly pay someone to come and organize their stuff? They couldn't keep it up.

Re: Cullen and Katie: Blame the Mailman Part 7
lol, half you guys on here come across like you hate families where the parents work at home.
I seriously think the state of their house is being exaggerated. I've lived and been to numerous homes which I would consider messy/dirty but I personally don't have an issue with their house, I don't even consider it messy, cluttered some parts maybe, but it doesn't fit what I call messy. And as for the fact that they are both at home so the house should look different, maybe they are fine with how the house is and clean what they need too? Its not like they have piles of dirty dishes and food left out, everything (to me) looks clean, just that areas are cluttered. Also haven't they said when talking about moving house that they want more space? Maybe see what its like when they move and have more storage and what not to put things.

Re: Cullen and Katie: Blame the Mailman Part 7
I was raised by a neat freak (my dad). I was constantly in trouble for not keeping my room spotless. It wasn't that I didn't want to. It was that it just wasn't something I excelled at. Even now, I struggle with minimizing and keeping things neat and organized, despite being raised in a house where everything was always immaculate.
However, if I was a vlogger my house would be spotless bc I like to at least pretend I have everything perfectly together to outsiders

I dont think their house is that bad. What makes me claustrophobic is the dark colors they picked out to paint it. I think it would look so much better with some lighter choices. Gaines room gives me a headache with all the dark mixed colors. And its a small room anyway.

Re: Cullen and Katie: Blame the Mailman Part 7
I'd much rather see them put time and energy into their children's development than trying to keep their home up to muster for some more uptight housekeepers. They tend to notice what their children are doing, like Cullen making a comment about how Brooks leaned in with his shoulder or attempting to hear what Gaines is actually saying. Grand Dolly admits to keeping some clutter. Katie will eventually have a cleaning lady in when she gets a larger home. My mother keot an immaculate home, still does, but she was always so angry if she ever did in cleaning herself. It was a turn off. It was much better for her to have help rather than do her own cleaning, even when she was a strictly stay at home mother. She didn't care much for children either, lol.

Why would you assume Katie will have cleaning help? It isn't difficult to clean and a good example is Bonnie who has four kids, small house and explained how she keeps her house clean with routine cleaning. I think they are attentive parents too.

Re: Cullen and Katie: Blame the Mailman Part 7
Well, Katie doesn't seem to enjoy cleaning house like some people do. I see Cullen doing a lot more cleaning than Katie, though Katie takes pride in doing the laundry. Before Gaines was mobile, C&K didn't seem to give much thought to their home. Mail could easily collect on the counter for months, it doesn't rattle her. Surely her mother had help, why shouldn't Katie have it? Unlike Bonnie and Ellie, Katie doesn't seemed to have been groomed to clean house. She'll have enough to do picking up from day to day. Is it really unusual to have cleaners in different regions of the country? It is a fairly standard practice in Southern California if you can afford it.

Re: Cullen and Katie: Blame the Mailman Part 7
Agreed. I grew up in So Cal and for as long as I can remember, my mom had maids/house cleaners come every two weeks (still does.) Some people have them every week. I think the difference is some people think of maids as a person who is always in the house and waits on the family constantly. Honestly, even with maids, my room was never clean. For a good part of my teenage years, I would just close the door to my room and not even let the maid in. My mother always has the house clean and probably because of my rebellious nature, I never do. My philosophy is that people know you live in the house, no point in making it look just for show.WhatSheSaid wrote:Well, Katie doesn't seem to enjoy cleaning house like some people do. It seems like many YouTubers are using clickbait since that last convention in Seattle. Did they have a course about it or something? So annoying! Now before clicking on a video I just check on here to see if it was clickbait or not because I won't give them a single view to encourage it.

I think we all have slightly different definitions of clickbait. This title felt attention grabbing but it wasnt like they didn't address they title within the video.ellay wrote:It seems like many YouTubers are using clickbait since that last convention in Seattle. A lot of yputubers have been coming out ans talking about how the youtube algorithm has been changed, their subscribers aren't seeing their videos in their feed, views are dropping etc. There seems to be a shift in tge type of channel or video youtube favors
Angela from This Gathered Nest recently posted a video talking about this and how youtube has more or less said that they are favoring videos that have a lot of traction when they are first uploaded. Hence the increase in "clickbait" thumbnails and titles that a lot of people are using. It could also be ehy Cullen is trying different titles and why they were begging for likes. I do wish they would just be honest about it Angela was. However in her case she isn't soley dependent on yt income like many of these other vloggers are. So maybe they are afraid of biting the hand that feeds them.

Re: Cullen and Katie: Blame the Mailman Part 7
Maybe because I have like days of watching YouTube and then go like a week or so without but I never depend on my "subscription feed." When I want to watch, I just watch each channel individually (like right now i'm watching the last week of Bonnie's videos.)
So all this complaining about videos not showing in sub boxes kinda confuses me. If you know you're watching a daily vlogger and you don't see a video after their normal time, just go to their channel right? Or am I doing something crazy?

Another vlog where cullen acted stoned at the beginning. He claimed he was tired. Very distracted driving his eyes were hardly on the road and he was even dabbing.

I just automatically figured it was. Whenever someone shows a pregnancy test, or says "Is she pregnant?", she (whoever "she" may be) never is.marshmellow wrote:That was a nice clickbait.
