One thing in defense of the Gardners is their vlogs are behind so when they had the video of their nephew being over this was before the "state of emergency" was issued because they just finished showing videos of Disney so with that one I'd cut them a little slack. Now, I firmly agree with you in saying they have no business having the nanny coming in and out of the house with their girls lung issues (croup) they either needed to give her the time off or have her temporarily move in. and having her dad come over to help with things. I do think their channel is a bit misleading because they are so behind in the sense of what's going on.
Just one or two things - people generally don’t come to this page to defend the Gardners. What’s more, croup is not a lung issue. It’s swelling of the tissues around the vocal cords which produces a barking cough. In some cases it can cause difficulty breathing. It is brought on by the same virus as the common cold. Finally, children aren’t generally considered to be at high risk from the virus. Nanny shouldn’t be coming to the Gardner house more for her own protection than the children’s - more so for Ashley’s parents and Tyson’s mum.

You can believe if I had a young child who suffered from croup, I would feel they are high risk. nobody is a text book case and you never know what can happen with different dynamics. My adult child had to use an inhaler and nebulizer when he had croup only one time as a child. I've reminded him of this because if he were to get infected with this virus, I would want him to be extra aware of his breathing, rather be safe than sorry. Gardner's seem like very irresponsible parents like many others I watch. If they are very attentive, responsible parents, why would they want to show themselves so many times in negative representation.
To be clear, I’m not saying who should or should not be considered high risk. I am merely pointing out that croup is not a lung condition. It is caused by an upper respiratory tract infection. Administration of medication will be to relieve the swelling of the larynx and enable breathing. Often children who are initially diagnosed with croup go on to be diagnosed with asthma. Because Ashley and Tyson never follow through the hospital visits then it’s hard to know exactly what the issue is with them.
Nevertheless, the evidence overwhelmingly suggests that in the case of coronavirus, children do not appear to be overly at risk. It is adults and the elderly.
My concern in the Gardner household would be more for the grandparents, than the girls. Knowing that Nanny Ash also has elderly parents, if I were the Gardners, I would be telling her to look after herself and her own family right now rather than theirs.
If they were in the U.K. they would be legally required to do so atm - employers are responsible for ensuring only key workers are at work. They could be fined for asking anyone other than key workers to work.
It is up to each individual to decide whether their child is at increased risk. The Gardners clearly do not think the girls are.
