2011MommyFirstLilySecond- Part 25
Re: 2011MommyFirstLilySecond- Part 25
I think a dress with sleeves of some sort would work better for Vanessa because of the scabs and scars all over her arms/shoulders. I also noticed in a recent video that her mom has scabs and scars all over her arms too. Personally, I think Vanessa picks out of anxiety and stress.
RE: Lily’s hair - I think it looked adorable when her hair was in the top knot at Disney. I think Vanessa doesn’t put Lily’s hair up because of her neck and I really hope Lily doesn’t become insecure of her looks as she grows older.
Has Vanessa discussed anything about the wedding party? I remember at one point she said the youngest child in the family would be the flower girl but never specifically said that it would be Lily.

I think Lily's hair looks fine. She is a kid and should be allowed to look like one. Maybe her hair can't be "tamed" more than that. Hell, I know mine can't, and I've tried literally every piece of hair advice that has ever been in existence, and it still just does whatever it wants.

Same here. I always have felt she tries way to hard to be someone she isn't. It shows. Everything she does and the way she says or does things doesn't seem natural.kiwi wrote:I have gotten the vibe for a long time now that Vanessa is trying to be someone she isn't.
I don't understand people who want to be someone they arnt. Just be yourself!
Regarding Lily's hair, I like her curly hair but it's never maintained. And I agree it looked nice at Disney in a top knot bun. I do agree that she's trying to cover Lily's neck. To me that's incredibly sad. That would be like Britney trying to hide Nolans arm by having him wear long sleeve shirts all the time. I do think Lily will pick up on it. If Lily is so into princesses, I think she would love to try new things with her hair. Lily doesn't seem like the type to object to something cute done to her hair.
And I agree I think it's nuts to have Lily, at almost 4 yrs old, be put in a stroller. Someone said previously why doesn't Vanessa run the trail while Lily is at school. That's a really good idea. Hopefully Vanessa will see that. Because I think it's unfair to put a 4 yr old child in a stroller when she could be out walking with her mom.
I couldn't imagine putting my kids in a stroller at that age. They would want out!!
I do think Lily gets too much screen time. Let's say Vanessa walks/runs for an hour. That's an hour Lily is staring into the screen. And that is just one hour out of her day. Lily should be looking into Nature. Vanessa could make a fun game out of it, like have Lily try to spot certain colors, different trees, or count how many people they pass...you know something like that. That would be fun for her and she will still learn things. And then maybe Lily could get a reward at the end. Kids love those those kind of find and seek, or search kinda things. Esp with rewards. And Lily could do it all from her seat in the stroller while Vanessa does her thing. Lol.
And getting to much screen time can make a child sleepy which to me, Lilyalways seems tired and zoned out.

Personally top knots/ buns( unless for dancing or gymnastics) don't belong on small children. Pony tails, pig tails, half up, braids sure. But top knots and buns are a professional/adult look and shouldn't be on small children. Not to forget to mention pulling hair that tight would be painful and can lead to traction alopecia.

Any hair style if pulled tight can be damaging and painful, not just buns. I love little buns on children with little wispy bits out, it's a cute hairstyle and it's not hard to do, plus it's only professional if it's all scrapped back neatly. Ness should take Lily accessory shopping and let her pick out some cute things for her hair, I'm sure she'd love it!Yue195 wrote:Personally top knots/ buns( unless for dancing or gymnastics) don't belong on small children. Sorry, don't like it on kids. It's a professional hairstyle scrapped back neatly or not, like pigtails are more a kids hairstyle then a adult one unless your dressing up. The company I work for delibritly ask for employees to wear top knots/ buns because it comes off more professional. I think Lily looks nice with head bands.

Re: 2011MommyFirstLilySecond- Part 25
I saw lots of young girls with top buns when my daughter went to pre-school and elementary school. Is it the right thing to do on a daily basis for Lily's hair? I don't know. My kids had straight hair. But what I see in Vanessa's DITLs again and again is that she spends a fair amount of time on her hair and make-up but next to no time on Lily's hair. And very often Lily's hair looks like a tangled mess.

I'm doubtful that she even uses conditioner on Lily's hair. She should also get the hair stylist to thin her hair out or add layers to take away some of the bulk.

Re: 2011MommyFirstLilySecond- Part 25
Did anyone see what she had for breakfast
Spinach
Two baked eggs
Tomatoes
DIRECTIONS: Put all ingredients together in a bake safe bowl and bake at 350°F for 18min!
Would not be my choose of breakfast the thought of Tomatoes with Egg all mixed in Together.

Whether you make an omelette or quiche, if it's all the same ingredients, who cares how it's prepared. It all ends up in the same place. It's pretty common in some areas to have tomatoes with eggs. I would eat that, but IMO it looked a little underdone for my taste. Still a decent breakfast though.

Haha Slop it all up. My partner just came in and i showed him the Picture. His words " What Kind of Slop is that ! When i told him he says its a rustic dish and the egg is meant to sit on the top. As they say everyone has there own tastes. Is it a popular American Dish?NutraSteve wrote:Slop it all up together... That's some good eatin'!

No. I imagine it should have been some sort of frittata but Vanessa can barely cook a box cake, let alone something that requires sautéing, frying and baking.sassychick wrote:Haha Slop it all up. Math is definitely not her strong point. That isn't even a 1.5 pound loss. Not saying that it's not good and that she shouldn't be proud but that is not a 2 pound loss.

Looks like an oufs en cocotte recipe. And she got the time and temp ok so I'm not sure why the eggs look a little underdone. Anyway it looks like a good healthy breakfast. Oufs is not a typical US dish but pretty common in Europe and Australia (I think).sassychick wrote:Did anyone see what she had for breakfast

Agreed. My daughter only wears her hair like this for dancingYue195 wrote:Personally top knots/ buns( unless for dancing or gymnastics) don't belong on small children. If I had a daughter with hair like Lily's, I would probably put it in a bun especially at school. Getting lice with hair like that would be a nightmare.

Because of Lily's curly hair, she probably won't get lice. Very hard for them on curly hairred3head wrote:If I had a daughter with hair like Lily's, I would probably put it in a bun especially at school. Getting lice with hair like that would be a nightmare.
