Re: The Lindquists
I have a hard time warming up to her dad. The whole time she was telling us her life story and abuse, her dad never seemed to intervene. So either he didn’t know thenfull scope or he’s just a selfish individual.
Either way, it’s weird that she never really goes into that.

Re: The Lindquists
Agreed. Did the know about the abuse and let it happen, or was he so disconnected that he didn’t even know it was going on? I wonder what his/her family thinks about her whole abuse history going on YouTube. Such a sensitive thing to video and share out there because it trickles back to affecting everyone in the family in some ways.Notablogger wrote: ↑Thu Jan 17, 2019 5:59 am I have a hard time warming up to her dad. Re: The Lindquists
Her discussing her comment section in therapy is essentially her admitting she deletes and blocks a LOT. Because every time I skim her comments I rarely ever see a lick of criticism.
Re: The Lindquists
On IG she’s talking about the assumptions and pretending to be really excited about it. Smart move, Elle. Her cult following will watch so they can bash people, and the rest of us will watch to see what she actually admits. Now that’s good content!

Re: The Lindquists
Now she’s going to coffee with her Father in Law!???! Hi Elle! She’s clearly keeping up with this board. Also, wanting 5 HIGH CHAIRS is pretty much the opposite of minimalism, you hypocrite
Re: The Lindquists
Ummm no because #qualityoverquantity so as long as she spends a lot of money on crap she can have as much as she wantsOrangeorchid wrote: ↑Thu Jan 17, 2019 7:09 am Now she’s going to coffee with her Father in Law!???! Re: The Lindquists
Also after we mentioned MiL and Dans FB I noticed Dan’s went on super lockdown. Why would that happen except the fact that she saw us here talking about it?! She can’t make MiL hide hers (because MiL has an online presence too and also MiL hates her lol) but she can make Dan lock his down.

Re: The Lindquists
She wants 5 $500 chairs that she says you can use as dining or office chairs. For $2500 you can buy at least 10 high quality chairs. She just proclaimed on IG stories that one of the assumptions is she comes from money and she's happy to proclaim she's not. Well she is certainly rubbing it in her followers faces that she has money now. Her #quantityoverquality basically tells everyone that fulfulling the aesthetic is more important than practicality and preaches that 's what people should aim for. I feel bad for any of her fans that falls into this trap.

I found it so funny that she mentioned going to coffee with her FiL!! She’s still hanging around these parts. Hi Elle!!!!

Re: The Lindquists
Guys! Guys! guys!!!! I can’t anymore.
She’s digging a hole for herself with this quality over quantity storyline.
First of all, won’t be be getting a sponsored one?
Secondly, I personally think they’re god awful looking. I can’t imagine having five of them. And there’s no back support. (Second one is a personal opinion I know)
Thirdly, stop trying to reason it. If she came out and said I want a $500 high chair I’ll buy one. Case closed. Don’t start telling your viewers that they all should strive for expensive designer crap cause it’s mlre sustainable.
Fourth, who cares if baby stuff has a long shelf life. Most people have two kids. It’s not a lifetime commitment.
And yes, she is “subtlety” dropping hints that she still reads her. the baby update the other day addressed her sister in law. She showed us her at church. She’s hanging with the father in law (poor guy), she talked about her “comment section” at therapy (but she was probably talking about us).
Anyways, I have to go wipe down my non sustainable piece of crap high chair that will sit in a landfill for years and years.

Re: The Lindquists
Plus if she really wants to be sustainable then buy second hand then pass it down! Oh and she wanted the infant bed attachment to that high chair which I looked up and its additional $200+ for the base and another $100+ for the mattress. I really hope she gets it in PR coz she can certainly use that money elsewhere.Notablogger wrote:Guys! Guys! guys!!!! I can’t anymore.

Her response to poor families is atrocious. I work with poor families in adult Ed and I’m not surprised she so easily dismissed their struggles but WOW so heartless

Re: The Lindquists
I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS!!!
First off, I 100% agree that YouTube perpetuates Elle’s need for therapy. She will never ever ever get to the root of her many many many issues if they are constantly being reinforced via YouTube.
Either her therapist is brilliant for realizing this so she can bank on Elle coming back again and again forever, or she’s an idiot for not telling Elle that she needs to identify WHY she’s really on YouTube and recognize if it’s actually doing more damage than good. Empowerment is not why Elle is on YouTube. She’s on it because she wants to be at the centre of her own little universe.
If Elle thinks she’s entitled to one of those god awful expensive chairs, whatever, I’m used to Elle wanting ridiculous things at astronomical prices. But to want 5? It’s tacky. They aren’t even nice chairs. If I’m paying $500 a chair I want them to look classic and last forever. I don’t want to be bored of the aesthetic 5 years down the road and have to replace them. This girl has gone off the deep end with her selfishness.
I cannot anymore with her minimalism/quality over quantity shtick. She only pulls it out when she feels like she has to justify something ludicrous. One thing I have learned about Elle is that the more she rambles in a video, the harder she is trying to sell her own reasoning to herself as much as she is to everyone else. She doesn’t actually believe it, but she wants it to be true, and so she will ramble on and on and on about her thought processes.
She’s all about sustainability but it only seems to apply to her overpriced bamboo onesies that she purchased from the spa. Or her random fabric shower curtain from her latest bathroom cleaning video.
Oh and in the IG stories she’s like so many of you were worried about offending me with your questions and that’s so not necessary! Uhhhh I think people were worried about offending her because they know what she and her little army do to people in the comments section.

Re: The Lindquists
Just saw her IG monologue on low income families. What the actual fuck?
Plus, when is the last time Elle purchased anything used other than that Bugaboo donkey stroller or LV bag? She loves to sell her free swag to the plebs but homegirl don’t shop secondhand no more.
We have a combined household income of over $250,000 and I shop secondhand ALL. THE. TIME. Half my home decor is thrifted. Half my kids’ wardrobes and toys are thrifted. Half my wardrobe is thrifted (my husband refuses lol). I’ll spend my money where it matters...dining chairs and bamboo onesies don’t fucking matter. I bought a high end high chair used for $50 and I’ll sell it for $50 when I’m done with it. That’s being smart with my money, being sustainable, and getting the biggest bang for my buck (especially if I use it for another kid). Practice what you preach, Elle.
I also fully disagree with her when she says the $500 chair is preventing her from buying other things like a dock a tot etc. She already has a dock a tot (or had, one was sent to her by the company). Theoretically, given that this is her THIRD BABY, she should have all the other things - bouncer, bumbo, etc - already. And if she doesn’t have them, then she clearly didn’t need them for her first two kids and so why does she need them for her third? Especially at $100-200 prices for the add-ons on top of the $500 purchase price for the chair itself?? Technically, all those baby items are convenience or luxury items anyway. Not very minimal, nor is it sustainable. She makes zero fucking sense.

Re: The Lindquists
^ exactly!!! We have a good combined income and almost everything we have is thrifted. I could be making millions and would never even consider buying that contraption. It’s fucking ugly and has no support. It would never be a good office chair.
And all the stuff she talked about it taking the place of? You don’t need any of that shit either. Does anyone these days hold their baby? MAYBE you need a swing/bouncer so you have somewhere to safely rest them when you shower or cook but all the rest is dumb. Buy a thrifted booster seat/ high chair.
She’s so annoying. She reeks of new money.

Re: The Lindquists
Wow that IG rant. She is off her rocker. If she was poor you would think she would have a little more compassion. Sometimes lower income people need something and don’t have time to save for years. She is so unrelatable.

Re: The Lindquists
I feel like if you want something despite it going against everything you “stand for” (in quotations because I don’t think Elle actually knows what she stands for), just own it. Say “I really like these high chairs. They’re expensive and trendy and I don’t need one, let alone five. But I want them. So I’m going to get them.” At least nobody can argue with that. We’ve all done it.
At the end of the day this is her house and she can get whatever ugly chairs she wants to to add to her boring decor. I just don’t understand why she needs to try so hard to get everyone onto her side. The more she talks, the more holes she puts into her own argument and overall “brand.” She can’t seem to justify herself in one area without self-incriminating in another. It becomes way too easy (and way too fun) to pick her apart.

Re: The Lindquists
I definitely cannot relate to her. And we were low income a few years ago and made ourselves debt free, very comfortable and saving money. I still had every baby item given 2nd hand or from kijiji for our surprise 3rd because we gave all our baby stuff away. Low income means basic needs comes first, food, shelter, clothing, utilities. Saving up money for something as insignificant as a high chair is not an option and considered a luxury.
I think she needs a better therapist.

This is exactly why her channel will never be huge. She is way to preachy and sounds like a know it all. If you like something and want to get it fine. But quit trying to make everyone believe what you believe. It sounds so judgmental.
