I can’t believe Justin couldn’t go up to the hospital.. that was so messed up. He even wanted to go and she said “No, Lauren’s just having family up there for the rest of the day.. we will go tomorrow”

Wtf is Justin? He’s a brother, he should have been able to go up there.

Adding on it would've been better if she posted some long corny heartfelt post on Instagram about it. The fact that she felt the need to mention this casually in a tweet is so disrespectful. That's like a firefighter tweeting something like "Saved a family today. The baby died but at least I was able to save 3/4 of the children. My heart goes out to them" maybe I'm reaching, idk. . . Either way, I find this gross behavior

TRIGGER WARNING: don't want to be rude or insensitive but is anyone HORRIFIED that people bring their dead baby home? That feels kinda "Norman Bates" from bates motel. He would dress his dead mother and position her on the furniture and stuff as if she were still alive. I understand wanting more days in the hospital but I can't imagine bring the dead baby home, what if theres other children in the house. What if the pets get to the child because it's literally human remains. Horrifying


What happens when a woman decides not to bring her baby back to the hospital. Like what if the loss messes up with her mentally and she decides to run off with the baby's corpse because that can definitely happen.

Just my opinion but it feels unethical, unhealthy, unsanitary, potentially psychologically damaging and just wrong overall. Have more days in the hospital but let the child rest. You can still dress him/her up and everything but taking them home?

I have said the same thing awhile back. I think it’s beyond creepy to take the dead baby home. To be honest I find the whole idea of a cuddle cot a bit awkward. I have never lost a baby so maybe that’s why. That one Amy lady kept going back multiple days to see her dead baby which was weird to me. It’s just a body. The whole “well they want to be able to allow other family members from out of town to come and see the baby” what? Who wants to fly in just to look at a dead baby? Maybe I’m heartless... the idea of wanting to keep seeing your dead baby’s body for an extended period of time is very mentally messed up to me. I would say my goodbyes and mourn without having to be reminded over and over again by holding their body.

I don’t judge. I have had several miscarriages but no stillborns. I don’t know how I would handle my grief.

If it helps them process, I’m all for it. It might be weird or creepy to you, but everyone deals differently. I’d think I wouldn’t take a stillborn child home, but honestly I don’t know how I would react.

That’s not how cuddlecots work. I’ve never heard of anyone taking their baby home with them in it. It’s to keep the body chilled so the families can say their goodbyes for longer at the hospital. The baby’s body starts to breakdown immediately after birth, so the cot gives them extra hours or a day, instead of just a few minutes.

Taking the deceased body home is not actually legal in the US without several permits and authorizations. It just doesn’t happen.

Personal: With our baby, we used the cot for a day in the hospital and then she was taken to the morgue for an autopsy. We got to see her one last time before we buried her at her funeral.
