Mindy would have to give up control of her kitchen for this to happen. Maybe he just wants something he can make independently without her hovering. Sometimes people just want things that are their own.whydowewatchthis wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 12:11 pm So I'm reading here lack of Holland/Bingham interaction.
I've always felt like their kids weren't super into each other either... like they seem to have a 'cousin' relationship but I didn't see them often going to each other's houses. Turn's never asked Ryler to play video games with him on a random day.
Krew wants an easy bake oven?? Isn't he a little old for that? I feel like he's big enough he doesn't need to use child sized kitchen utensils, and with some supervision he could be using the oven... He wants to make pretzels, google pretzel recipe and he can start today.... I know they say 8 and up but I feel like I started on that when I was 4 and at around 10 my mom got tired of it taking up space and said "this is the real kitchen stuff" and I would bake and then go get an adult to put it in the oven and take it out for me.

True. Plus they can afford it... I grew up having 2 different easy back ovens but oh my lord I was just looking out of curiosity because I'm doing a giving tree for a child who likes to bake but you pay more for the mixes than the oven itself over time! for $27 dollars you can get three "just add water" pretzel mixes, one nacho cheese powder mix, one egg wash powder kit, and one package of coarse salt... Given I don't do a lot of grocery shopping but that seems crazy... keep in mind the pretzel mix serves 3Uncle_Deadly wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 2:24 pmMindy would have to give up control of her kitchen for this to happen. There's no way that family is going to let a boy in the kitchen. Now if _Hazy_ wants to bake, Mindy will be all over it and get them matching aprons. But any of the boys? No way.

I agree with what you are saying. "Studs" don't play with ovens - it isn't rad, epic, or savage enough.

As you heard on instagram in regards to the baptism...
typical Mindy tone "Today was perfect"
voice drop "For Brexson"
aka "we didn't have to do much work for our black sheep, but if it were Hazy's baptism I would be here bawling about how I couldn't put pink cross bows on everyone's individual seat and that the whole family couldn't take a picture with her beautifully curled hair"
Unless they do a vlog.. I feel like she was more emotional about Hazy missing preschool graduation than not having family at Brex's.

very late to reply but no... Ryler is too anxious, the second favorite is Krew because he's tough and a savage and low maintenance, brave enough to do epic things, but also doesn't complain... If you remember from the time Mindy had to fly from Disneyland to Utah, Krew was the only child who did not feel sick or cry.Tiredofspoiledbrats wrote: ↑Fri Nov 20, 2020 10:11 amIn fairness I think that’s the birthday order, they have a bunch in the summer starting with hazy then krew then ryler then madi then brex. Hazyl, Krew, Ryler, amado, and then poor Brexen...you can tell they just neglect him, everyone is ready and put together for their pictures and brexen is just on his pjs...I feel so sorry for him sometimes

So, they are milking Maddie for content once more...
Why do all the kids have to have reefs on their doors just because Maddie gets one? Like, I love Christmas too, but I'm not out there putting a reef on every single bedroom in my house...a tree is one thing, but reefs?
Also, Princess Hazzy being a brat... she just always needs to do something to get attention doesn't she? That "I need to be in the video!" killed me
And if the purpose of this is to help Maddie have a good Christmas at college and an epic rad crazy first Christmas, then why aren't they just leaving and letting her decorate with her roommate? Most of the decor portion seems to be just appeasing to Hazyl...

Just watched the recent video with Maddie. Why do I always get the impression that underneath her polite, blase exterior, she's secretly seething? Haha.
She always plays along with them like she's a teacher talking to kindergarteners, and especially so in this recent one. She looks exhausted, which makes sense as she's probably pretty busy with school. Something in her body language is just...interesting though, and a little off. It was the same when Brandon picked her up from the airport the other night. Maybe she's just not got the energy for being so aggressively "on" on camera right now. She is an obvious introvert after all. I won't say more about that since Mindy probably comes in here on her cell phone during those moments that she's sitting on the toilet unbeknownst to Branden so she can read about herself and get worked up. Hey Mindy. How ya doin? Would you like a square of two-ply?
Mindy's comment about Maddie not yet gaining the freshman 15 was such blatant passive aggressive jealousy wrapped up in the form of a joke. Period. There was no other way to interpret it. At the very end of the video, Mindy's forced fake smiles were also quite hilarious. They looked like they hurt.
I absolutely believe that Mindy is a white knight type of covert narcissist the way she acts with people, especially with people that she's jealous of- i.e. Maddie. ("I'm going to give and give to you so that no one knows how insecure I am and passive aggressively abuse you because I wish I were you!") It doesn't come out very overtly until they are together, and then you see it- her energy is so ugly and dark and she can't control it as much as she usually can.
You can see it with Hazel as well. Usually the narcissist parent has a golden child- la princessa- and the scapegoat- poor Brex. The golden child, if not aware of the situation, will grow up to be the narcissist- kind of like Sith lords. The rule of two applies here.
The scapegoat either grows up to be a doormat, a therapist, or...someone you don't want to know.

The way they use her for content just annoys me no end. I'm sure it's nothing compared with how much it must annoy her. And what 18 year old college student wants to match her stepmom and 5 year old half sister? In those matchy-match photos Mindy insists on, I can just see Maddie grinding her teeth behind the smile.
Just because Mindy went to college to get her Mrs degree, doesn't mean Maddie isn't taking her education seriously. Something tells me that Maddie went to college to get an education, not meet "cute guys" or find some nice returned missionary to marry. And especially not to provide content for their vlogs or be their "merch" packager.

The sad part is that I think she does it for the money, I remember Mindy mentioning that Maddie's mom does dreamcatchers, that made me assume that she has a small business or something like that (I might be totally wrong tho), which is awesome but we all know how hard it is for small business owners, especially during a pandemic...plus she lives in California, which is EXPENSIVE...so the vibe I get is that they are ok but not like too ok (I hope this makes sense).lmmomSD wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 7:00 pm The way they use her for content just annoys me no end. But yeah, my guess is that the child support is terrible because she has no real idea of how much money Branden makes so he can get away with it, and now it's covid and we all know how the economy is....
Also, Branden might have said that since she's in Utah now he doesn't have to pay or something like that and they went with that "now that you're here you need to fulfill your vlog obligations if you want money" bs....
Or maybe I'm completely wrong and she just doesn't know how to say no to them because she's an introvert and they are quite pushy and she just wants to make her dad happy because she never got to spend that much time with him, either way it's sad...

I mean Maddie knew going to BYU she will be around the family a lot. She could have stayed in CA and went to a state school?lmmomSD wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 7:00 pm The way they use her for content just annoys me no end. True, but she may not have bargained for what she got. There's a difference between knowing you're going to be around family more, and being used for content. Not living with the vlogging parent, I'm betting she didn't know quite how much the vlogs have taken over their lives. Being there for vacation or a weekend is different from having to deal with it on the daily.blessedunrest wrote:I mean Maddie knew going to BYU she will be around the family a lot. I also have the suspicion that grandma and grandpa Bingham may have talked that school way up and thereby talked her into it -or- even offered to comp some things if she applied for BYU. I know she's there on a scholarship, but they don't cover everything. I remember there was a vlog before she started applying for colleges where she stayed with them for a few nights and spoke with them about school, although Branden never really said specifically what it was that they talked about. It probably sounded amazing to be able to be around her dad, and Mindy and the kids probably weren't that bad in short doses, so why not? I think reality has quickly set in though.lmmomSD wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 3:39 pmTrue, but she may not have bargained for what she got. What is Branden's obsession with having his kids pose with that open-mouthed expression for thumbnails? Does he _want_ pedophiles to photoshop them?
This guy bought the analytics of a bunch of family vloggers (don't know if the Binghams were included). Sav Labrant's daughter Everleigh has 5 million followers. 70% of them are males over 18. It's pretty much the same with the girls from the Weiss Family.
It's disgusting the way these people are lining their pockets pimping out their kids.

Seriously? Because a YouTube family sent you their Christmas card? The fact that people react this way over a YouTube family is disturbing.

Ugh. And they didn't even sign it!
I have never understood the worship of YouTube "celebrities". They aren't special. They may have charisma, and be relatively good looking, but that's nothing to cry over. The lack of critical thinking among vlogger fans just amazes me. And people wonder why our country is such a mess. People believe what they see and think that the carefully edited videos vloggers put out are an accurate reflection of who they really are. Jimmy Carter. I might cry over meeting him, or getting a Christmas card, because he contributes to the world. Even with cancer he's out there building houses. Anne Lamott, because I look up to her as a writer Crying over a printed Christmas card from the Binghams is ridiculous.
I shouldn't be surprised. Someone who uses the word "literally" like that and starts a sentence with "me and my fiancee are", shouldn't be expected to have exceptional critical thinking skills.

Dear Mindy,
It doesn’t matter if the frame you got for your tv was a steal of a deal if you had to get a brand new designer tv to hang it!

Yeah I don’t get it. I don’t understand YouTube “merch” at all. It’s weird and people that buy it are even weirder. Also, did you see the one logo they had people voting on with the backwards L’s? Why!? It makes no sense and it would be perfectly easy to just flip them the CORRECT direction.Stephanie1976 wrote:Anyone else see the our life in holland is now going to do merch? Maybe this is why they aren't speaking... Given TIHWB went first, you would think for the common good they would have a coalition and joint merch? even with the overlap I'm sure they are stronger together...JD386 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 1:52 pmYeah I don’t get it. Who wears this.... as an adult, even in the early stages of minimal videos and not being caught up, when I thought they were reasonable, I would be embarrassed to answer the question "what are you wearing".... but also as a parent, I would be watching my kids list on youtube and not allow them to watch this or promote the merchandise...
Yes Suite Life of Zach and Cody the kids live in a hotel but we know it's tv... this is a real family that over indulges and I think it is going to make kids more envious... I kind of see it in the McNeals, 2 of their close friends did a vlog and had a PO box, so they wanted it and thought it would be the same result...
