wtf is with the editing? I'm only 2:50 in and I can't even follow along, it's like a five year old hopped up on sugar edited it. it's atrocious, can't even finish the vlog.

I think it'll be nice for Cullen to have his own dedicated office away from the rest of their living space. But what was Katie doing while Cullen was having to stop editing to "parent" when he was working on the couch? If it's Cullen's job to edit, then it's Katie's job to keep the kids away from him. When my husband has to work nights, I make sure that my 3 year old is as far away from him as possible or we're out of the house completely while he sleeps during the day. That's my job, so he can do his. I think Katie expects him to be the full-time working parent, while also being a full-time stay at home parent.

I can see this office being a distraction for him though. And the placement of the desk is a hazard. He's going to go walking in one day, trip over those cords, and his desktop is going to come smashing to the ground.

I had that thought too. Is it so hard for Katie to keep the kids say, in one of the playrooms? Or outside? Long enough for Cullen to edit? Why can't she take the kids upstairs and let them play there while Cullen edits?

They're both full of learned helplessness that way. Remember when Katie tweeted about her first uninterrupted shower in ages, and Cullen was like "oh yeah-- better check on the kids" (which could have been one of his attempts at a joke, like microwaving bottles). But it's like they either both have to focus 100% on the kids, or can't keep them occupied by themselves.

He's going to be lazy and procrastinate no matter where he's working. The office will give him the ability to say he's working, shut the door, and slack off without having to deal with Katie or the kids. I doubt much work will happen in there

My thoughts exactly. I give it two weeks before we get a vlog where Katie is bitching about Cullen spending too much time in his office.

And I agree the editing is terrible. I could barely follow along with the medium vlog. The whole first half was his reaction and Brittany blabbing before they even told what the damn guy had said. Does he actually think this editing is good? It’s horrible.

In theory having a dedicated office to work in is great, setting up a structured work time is great. But, like others have said, this probably wont help Cullen. He doesn't stay focused, and Katie isn't going to handle him actually being removed from the kids. If she couldn't keep the kids entertained while he edited before it wont be any different with him editing in his office.

And really, both the kids are out of the house for a pretty large chunk of time, why cant he edit then?

Also, why can't they clean/organize etc while the kids are out of the house? WTF do they do with that time? They have groceries delivered!
When I was a SAHM and my ex was deployed, my daughter was in preschool and my son was in a Montessori early childhood program. You bet your ass I made use of that time! I got groceries, cleaned the house, did errands, etc.
Do they spend all their time goofing off on social media?

When did Cullen get that desktop Mac? I've always seen them using a laptop.

About the office, they’ve been doing YT for how long now and it’s just dwindling on them that maybe an office to work would be a good idea? Sometimes the idiocy between 2 adults astounds me. If he was editing and working fine a few years ago, then a room isn’t going to make a difference. And no offense to them, but the last thing they should be doing is spending all their time and energy on an office when the reality is that their channel is plummeting to the ground. Maybe use that room to fill out job applications?

I thought they'd got that office up and running when they showed it on the vlogs months ago. That house is big enough to run a Kindergarten out of yet Katie cannot seem to keep two small kids away from her husband for a couple/three hours a day while he edits?? They have TWO playrooms, a garden, a large enclosed veranda which essentially is a third freaking playroom and a car to take them to the *shock horror* park or anywhere else for a couple of hours. Honestly if we didn't know better it would seem Katie doesn't see YouTube as a 'real' or 'proper' job (despite it being the only one job between the two of them) the way she thinks Cullen should be parenting and editing while she does - well yeah, while she does what exactly?

As Immom said, Cullen's no better with not being able to keep the kids away while Katie has a shower, at least a shower in peace once in a while. With that crazy night time routine they've got going on with Gaines I suspect it's more about them letting the kids run the show because, you know, laziness.

Their time management is as though they're two young teenage parents who need actual parents reminding them to get their shit together daily, not two mid thirty year old's. I can't fathom it, I really can't.

I wonder if the home office is a last ditch effort to get their shit together and try to make this YouTube thing work. I’m convinced they are living off of their home equity loan. There is no way they are making enough money to make ends meet from YouTube.

They have become an all-around shitshow - from content to editing to social media. The only reason I watch at this point is to see the wreckage.

Isn't not going to Playlist the antithesis of what they should be doing, especially with a floundering and plummeting YouTube channel? It's like they're purposely sitting by and watching (nay, helping) their channel die a slow death. And using 'adulting at home to do' is just a laughable excuse at this point. It's not a good enough reason at the best of times.

They'd just be wandering around the convention center trying to suck up to the younger, more relevant YTers. Whether they need to go to Playlist or not, i'm glad they aren't going.. convention vlogs are the worsttttttt.... I'm kinda glad that it seems like no one i watch is going (or at least they havent mentioned it) bc i would have nothing to watch when i get bored. lol

The point of playlist isn’t to schmooze and party. It’s to attend the panels to learn from experts how to grow your channel and garner more success. These buffoons go there for the party, not the convention. Playlist could actually be beneficial for them if they went for the purpose of business education and networking.
