Looks like Sam sold a pair of shoes to help pay for their Disney trip.

Wow, I hope at least he got some profit out of that sale, I never understood his fixation on expensive shoes. I think that Sam changed when they found out they were expecting Penny, he really matured and Tyler and probably even Jenn's brother could never accept that.

According to him it's paid for the whole trip. Plus some other things.

I don't think he had to. Sam has resold things on EBay for a while. I'm sure he got those shoes at retail price, but they're selling for $2000 on eBay. His sneaker obsession may seem frivolous, but some purchases are investments. Getting those shoes was smart. I'm sure there's some resale value in most of his sneakers. Notice he doesn't wear them often.

Daehan is even worse with the shoes. When he was working at the Trixin store, half his day was spent at Foot Locker drooling over shoes. He's always doing unboxings. No wonder he can't keep a girlfriend. He freaked out when he loaned some shoes to Gavin Butler, and Gavin scuffed them. I think Sam has _mostly_ out- grown the shoe thing, except for those insanely expensive Kanye West ones he got for Noah so they could match. The kids shoes were more expensive than the adult ones! The price seems to have dropped a little. When he bought them, I found them online for $300! They're down to $79 now, but that's still crazy for toddler/preschooler shoes. The adult ones are being advertised for $1800 on the Wal-Mart site! I'm stunned.

Yeah, I've seen that Daehan looooves expensive shoes but at least he doesn't have kids and his family is well-off. Anyways, I just can't see Sam going back to his youtube connections that he had 2 years ago, those guys are still behaving like kids that just got out of highschool, that's why it's interesting thinking who Samika should try to be friends with but at the same time, I don't see vlogger families trying to get together like they used to.

Why do you think Daehan's family is well-off? I've lived in Pocatello and they seem very middle-class.They have a small house and not in a "nice" neighborhood. Yes, they get by, but I wouldn't call them wealthy. Idaho is a VERY cheap place to live. Rent for my large 2-bedroom apartment with a balcony and a nice view was $450 a month.

And Sam was talking about how it's harder to buy and sell sneakers than it seems (which I believe-- you have to know your market and what items are likely to go up in price). He could talk about that. Jenn knits too.
I can't believe someone commented that he "scams" people with the sneakers. If he was selling counterfeit goods, that would be scamming. He's not. He is taking advantage of an opportunity, and being savvy in what he buys. He isn't tricking anyone, or coercing them. Grrrrr.

Some people get so bent out of shape about market value. I've seen it all over the place, from Disney pins, to babywearing and cloth diapers, to Lularoe and Jamberry... if you don't like the asking price, don't pay it. But unless the items are counterfeit, or the seller never sends it, or something like that, then there is nothing wrong with it

He's not forcing anyone to buy them so I don't get why people are like this. I think it's awesome what he did. Even though he said he didn't really like them, I think it shows how he's matured. He's always been shoe obsessed and at least he didn't keep them for himself. I think it was a smart decision, and it gave them the opportunity to make memories that will last a lifetime.
I'd take advantage of an opportunity like that if I knew what I was doing, haha

I think that's what sets Sam and Jen apart from the rest of the youtubers, they don't see every single part of their day as "good vlog footage" and they seem to hang out with people because they want to, not because it would be a good collab. Maybe they just wanted to go out and have a good time with friends and not worry about vlogging it, especially since they probably knew E&J would vlog it.
