I didn't watch the Younow so I have no idea how her tone on this subject and I'm only going by what was posted here but maybe she is only attracted to Hispanic guys? Lots of people are attracted to certain races. On the subject of her wishing she were Mexican...I wonder if that has to do with growing up in such a diverse place like California? I live in Chicago and when I was in school not knowing Spanish was definitely the minority. I always wished I could fit in and understand what everyone was saying. Maybe this is too deep thinking for Kyra lol but it's just what I thought of after reading this post. If she wanted the Mexican culture she definitely got with the wrong guy. I started watching them regularly when Alaya was born and I have yet to hear Oscar say anything in Spanish to his kids.

THIS!!!!!! I'm white/Latina mixed and I'm only attracted to black men. Occasionally a Latino but he's gotta be like damn special for me to find him attractive. And I'm also only attracted to white blond hair blue eyed women who are 5ft and under and thin. Preferring a look/race doesn't make you a bad person. I don't see why you are all making Kyra out to be some horrible person because she's attracted to one race.

Glad somebody somebody else brought this up, reminds me of how the bug buddies were trying to defend their Native American costume by saying that Oscar was Mexican therefore he was Native American. Guess they never heard of the Spanish colonisers lmao oscar's obviously white. It's just an intercultural relationship.

I think you guys are completely missing the point. PoC find it so annoying when people say that they're only attracted to one certain race/ethnicity because it comes off almost as fetishisation. It's cool to have preferences and all that but saying that you're ONLY attracted to black men just like people who say they don't find black men attractive at all is just crossing a line and sounds problematic. But I know I won't get through to anybody on this thread just like everybody was incredibly ignorant on the kk thread when I brought up Keren's gross obsession with mixed babies and Asian stereotypes so if you're really interested in bettering yourself then Google is your friend.

This exactly, I've never heard him once bring up his culture, not in enough detail to seem interested in passing it on. Kyra's more interested then him and that's kind of sad.

Too bad they don't live in near Oscars parents. I'm sure that's the only way those kids could experience their culture. Have they ever even celebrated any Mexican holidays in their vlogs like Cinco De Mayo, Day of the dead, etc?

ofc they havent. oscar doesnt care at all..he said he wont be teaching levi and alaya spanish bc he cant speak it that well himself...that's pretty sad considering he grew up in mexico for a while and in a spanish speaking household. i never understood why parents wouldnt WANT their kids to be bilingual. i am so happy my parents taught me 2 other languages. It has helped tremendously with my cognition and the way i learn/think.

I wish I could speak another language, I can "speak" sign language (bsl) and could have basic conversations and I'm really proud of that haha.
I don't understand why they wouldn't their excuses for it are just lazy, I think at one point Oscar said he doesn't want to leave kyra out but she could learn along side the kids

Yup. "Mexican" is not a race, it's a culture. Mexicans are a mix of different races, mostly white (European) and Native American.

Because not everything is a race issue lol. I found her comment to be weird but im pretty sure she didnt mean it in a racist way at all tbh. I dont think her "only mexican guys" comment makes sense as all mexican people look different (she could have worded it better) but saying you are attracted to certain features and over others doesnt make you a racist LOL. All the guys i've dated have been tall, white, blue eyes, and dark brown/black hair. I'm not attracted to blondes. I also love different races and cultures and think they are beautiful but find myself drawn to a particular kind of look. That doesnt make me racist. everyone has preferences or types, or at least many people do.

Obviously Oscar must have more Spanish blood than indigenous blood, but there are plenty of Mexican people who are the opposite.

People cant help who they are attracted to. Why is it problematic to say youre only attracted to one race? That is just honest. We cant like everyone. There are some races or cultures i am certainly not attracted to at all. I dont have a "fetish" for the races/cultures i am attracted to.

You cant make a general statement saying people of color "find it so annoying" when people say theyre only attracted to one race. Idc! I take it as a compliment.

What's the deadline for? I read about the money being held by a third party, have they not given the money yet or is it that they aren't ready to move, sorry I've never brought a house

Obviously each country is different so I'll explain how it happens here in Australia.
If the owners accept your offer, you put a deposit down I forgot what it is but I think it's 0.25% of the house. Eg if the house is $500,000 the holding deposit is $1250 (damn I wish I could buy a house that cheap again).
Then the cooling off period begins which is usually 5-10 working days depending if it needs to be extended.
In that time you do your pest inspections and building inspections to check for structural damage, termites efc.
This is also the time the banks sort their finances. Now most people look at houses with a conditional home loan which lasts 3 months. More children you have the less borrowing power you have. Hence how you know where to look for in your price range. Now if you're not happy with the report or if the banks reject you, you can pull out in the cooling off period however the holding deposit isn't returned.
If all is ok then you need to have 10% (so total $50,000) paid at the end of the cooling off period then there is a total of 6 weeks from the initial holding deposit to "close" on the house, pay the rest and move in. This can be made quicker or or later and this is arranged through solicitors.
Sorry for the long spill but it's not as simple as a buying a car and paying and driving away so to speak. There is so much more to it.
