She probably leaves them in the car hoping something happens for content.

Just wondering if the hospital she delivers at will accept the baskets...you know with covid and all. Knowing that she was probably munching and touching the items probably are enough for me. Finally watched the video and save yourself the 10 mins. It is just her putting candy and junk in 2 baskets (uncovered with no cellophane or anything) and then says one looks better than the other one. Writes a thank-you card and then does a bump shot asking people when she will deliver....yawn.

From the way she posts about it, you'd think the baby was crowning currently. Tara, you have no true signs of labor, you have no idea when she is coming just chill.

I thought she said she was doing a bunch of individual items jn the baskets so nurses could grab things (like 5 chapsticks individually so a nurse got one each). But then I saw from the thumbnail she had a tumbler in each one. How does that work?
Also I've delivered at several hospitals and have always gotten a folder for all my paperwork, but of course they aren't blush pink.

Absolutely, I can see some not accepting it or trashing it because of covid. Get a gift card and call it a day. Nurses don't want bedazzled jars of vaseline.Candylane22 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 12:15 pm Just wondering if the hospital she delivers at will accept the baskets...you know with covid and all. All the people that I know who make them usually make multiples of the same thing with less stuff so each nurse gets one. That whole basket with a bunch of random stuff is stupid.

Yassss you got it!!! I honestly don't know anyone that makes a basket or a huge gift for the doctors or nurses for delievery or for after delivery, but hey, there's Tara lol. In theory they are appreciated and not recognized enough sometimes but then how does she know this is going to be such a wonderful experience with the staff? Thought she had a great experience with Grayson but then she changed her doctor and hospital unexplained...knowing Tara's past record with hospitals it seems she is being premature about this lol.Hali256 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 1:47 pmAbsolutely, I can see some not accepting it or trashing it because of covid. Wonder if Tara tried to think for a moment (...hahah who am I kidding?) that not all nurses could eat this junk nor want it. Maybe one might be diabetic, then what? They get stuck with a water bottle, vaseline, or wine? Such a steal Tara.

With covid I wouldn’t do this at all. Order in coffee and some treats or a meal or something for the nurses while you’re there. Something useful ffs. The baskets are for her, for content. This was not a good deed type thing this was a guyyyyys I’m so nice thing.

Do people really do these nurses baskets in real life? I mean it’s cute in theory, but as someone working in human services I toss most gifts unless wrapped. I’ve just never seen or heard of anyone in “real life” doing nurse baskets.

Yep. I know a bunch of people who have done it. But everyone I know has done something like chocolate, a card, chapstick, hand sanitizer and a coffee gift card for each nurse instead of baskets to share.DontForget wrote:Do people really do these nurses baskets in real life? What ever happened to just leaving a nice/comment feedback at the end of your stay. At the end of my hospital stay, the nurse rep mentioned that if I had any nice feedback about the nurses to leave on the feedback cards they provided and that it goes a long way. The feedback goes into their files, they receive recognition for it and can be considered for future promotions. I think that would be much more appreciated than anything else personally.

But then she wouldn't have anything to buy at Target and pat herself on the back for such a nice gesture by doing a video.JMinnie wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 4:41 pm What ever happened to just leaving a nice/comment feedback at the end of your stay. I do think her guessing 3/31 now she knows she's being induced. She also has her hospital packing video going up next week which gives her time to then drag a birth vlog out the following week.
Re: Tara Henderson: Baby Potato, Blush Pink, Adam If You Need Help Just Blink! | Part 18
Totally agree! I would’ve done either Starbucks or Target gift cards instead. Have a couple gift cards on hand for those nurses/practitioners you want to give to. Worse case scenario, you can always keep the gift cards and use them yourself in case you didn’t have a good experience. As you mentioned earlier, what happens if you have a very bad experience? Also, who wants to carry a bunch of baskets into a hospital while lugging bunch of other things?!Candylane22 wrote:Wonder if Tara tried to think for a moment (...hahah who am I kidding?) that not all nurses could eat this junk nor want it. No most don’t, especially during COVID. I know a friend who does bring things to nurses and she usually brings a box of cookies, but again that was before the pandemic.DontForget wrote:Do people really do these nurses baskets in real life? I think it depends on where you live. It's been very common some places I lived and one it was not at allMimis wrote:No most don’t, especially during COVID. I'd never heard of gift baskets for labor and delivery nurses until youtube. None of my friends did it when they had babies, no one ever mentioned it.
Besides, I thought it was the mom and new baby that were supposed to be spoiled with gifts?
This gift basket idea was probably born on youtube by an overachiever mommy vlogger as a way to one up other the other vlogger moms.
I do think the idea/thought of a gift basket is nice, but pregnant women have so much to worry about already without adding extra things like gift baskets to the list.
There has to be other ways to show appreciation for your nurses besides overstocked gift baskets.
