Re: xxxJoelPolexxx (Lucy Eades) Part 9
I would much rather my child saw his first breast because someone was nursing than see it on a movie (not necessarily porn) or in another hypersexialised scenario
and I don't know why people are saying Lucy should have been discrete. she was being discrete. she wasn't flaunting it. I do think she knew it was going to cause drama but i don't think she was feeding for the sake of drama. someone confronted her and she stood her ground, and so she should.

The only reason I wouldn't is if I HAD to formula feed. My mom had to, because none of her milk came in. None. Not a drop. For both my older brother and I.
I don't know if its genetic or not, but I was taught that breasts are for babies. They feed babies and that is solely what they're for.
My children will be taught the same.
We talk about slut shaming on the daily, what about public nursing shaming? That's a thing, right?

So, they have a name for baby, but it's still going to be like 3 weeks till we find out

However, I can't say that I disagree with her stance on nursing in public. It is her right to nurse with or without a cover. You can nurse discreetly without a cover. It isn't Iike she was running around with her boobs hanging out, she had her shirt down just enough to latch baby on and had baby's head covering her. You can hardly see anything. You see more skin when you look at women wearing bikinis at the pool. It's just the idea of baby breast feeding that gets people's panties in a wad, and that's sad.
Oh I don't disagree on her stance on nursing in public either and I nursed discretely without a cover for 15 months.
I just thought that it was wrong to stand at a public desk asking information about classes whilst nursing. When I fed my daughter, she demanded (and deserved I might add) my full attention. I sat, I talked to her, I kissed her little hands, she would stop to look at me and later to smile...it was wonderful. I think Lucy is missing out on a lot by treating nursing as something she can multi-task.
Surely whatever pressing question she had could have waited 10 minutes or Joel could have asked it. Lucy SHOULD have been able to sit somewhere in there and feed her baby, not in the toilet.
The guy standing near Lucy was clearly uncomfortable. He had his head buried so deep in those pamphlets. Breast feeding in public is fine, but not when you're shoving it down someone else's throat, so to speak.

Re: xxxJoelPolexxx (Lucy Eades) Part 9
I'm sure she has those sweet, quiet, stare-in-her-eyes moments sometimes, too. But when you have 3 other little ones with classes to attend, schedules to plan, their own needs for attention - not every nursing session is going to be so precious. I only have one older kiddo, and you'd better believe that sometimes the little one was latched on in the Moby without a second thought.thegooseiscooked wrote: Oh I don't disagree on her stance on nursing in public either and I nursed discretely without a cover for 15 months.

I think if she did give baby no-name (sigh!) her full attention during every feeding, we'd all be up her ass about neglecting the older kids.
Re: xxxJoelPolexxx (Lucy Eades) Part 9
Yeah.. I don't know. I nursed for 15 months with my daughter and had my toddler son to entertain as well. In all that time, I never fed whilst walking around. I kind of planned my day around her schedule. But yes, I didn't have 3 others to contend with.
All Im saying is that surely her question about classes could have waited 10 minutes while she nursed.**shrugs**

I'm not sure if anyone else follows the Birth Without Fear Facebook page. I had to unlike it because they are Lucy obsessed! It is unreal! https://www.facebook.com/birthwithoutfear
Re: xxxJoelPolexxx (Lucy Eades) Part 9
I am about to check that page out. I follow them on IG. Not fb. And I agree with Goose. I wondered also why Joel did not go up and talk about the classes so mommy could sit, relax for a second and nurse. I also did not take my newborn out so early. Just my own preference. My husband would pick up the slack with the other kids happily. And I just liked relaxing with my new baby. I just kinda felt that my baby was precious and should be introduced to this crazy world slowly. It made me sad to see them yelling and getting frustrated in front of a newborn. Babies may not understand but they feel it.

Seriously, Lucy was "confronted" before she walked in the door. She continued to do something that was not "liked" by employees and had her husband on standby with his cell phone camera on the ready. Money hungry grubbing bitch. If I take my daughter to a Mommy and Me class I'll pump and hand the bottle to my husband, as it is just as important that my other children get one on one time with me as it is to make a scene about breast feeding in public for youtube views. "You tube reality show"? Come on!!

Re: xxxJoelPolexxx (Lucy Eades) Part 9
Why would she stop? It is ridiculous to even expect her to stop feeding her baby! The employee had ZERO business saying anything to either Lucy or her friend. It is your choice to pump and let your husband feed the baby and it is her choice to exclusively bf. More power to her to bring more attention to the fact that there is a big problem still and it needs to stopihateleaf wrote:Seriously, Lucy was "confronted" before she walked in the door. If a wee one is hungry and already latched on let them finish eating and don't force a women to stop. The baby needs its delicious milk. A women shouldn't be forced to wear a cover or be segregated. If women is comfortable without a cover and if the child is fine with on they she can use one if SHE pleases. If the mother and baby are uncomfortable with a blanket/cover and are openly comfortable breastfeeding then let them be. I don't get all the hype over breastfeeding in public its just a human being eating. Yes, I think Lucy did have a speech prepared and so she should. Better to be prepared then unprepared. I had a little speech ready as well if people told me to stop breast feeding my baby as well. I am all for public breastfeeding with or without blankets. Its up to the mother not use. Its her body and her baby. Not ours.
I didn't have a speech ready but I did print out 2 copies of the laws on breast feeding in public for my state. One set stayed in the diaper bag all the time and the other copy stayed in my medela pump bag. I was definitely ready and prepared to pull them out if I were ever confronted. Thankfully, I never was.

Re: xxxJoelPolexxx (Lucy Eades) Part 9
sounds like my 10 and 7 year old sons. Every day I am beyond thankful that my older 3 children were old enough to learn a bunch from me breastfeeding my youngest and they know EXACTLY what breasts are for. They wouldn't even bat an eye or question anything if they seen a mother in public breast feeding.Peacebewithyou wrote:Wow wow wow. I am appalled at the comment about having boys see breasts. I have TWO 8 year old boys and I breastfeed in front of them. They have actually asked me in public why I was using a nursing cover. After that I stopped using a cover. They know what breasts are for and respect them for their biological purpose. They also don't giggle or snark at the words boobs, boobies, breasts, nipples, or bra. I am so proud of them!
To the OP of that statement, you really need to stop making breasts a sexual thing for your sons. Teach them what breasts are for, FEEDING BABIES!! One day they will have wives, who will probably breast feed. They should be educated now so 1, seeing a breastfeeding mother isn't a shock to them and 2, so one day they will fully support their wives in breastfeeding.

So when people have a problem with interracial or gay couples, they should sit their ass in the cover and be discreet so they don't shove it down someone's throat, right? Because their comfort is more important?
Next time I breastfeed in public, I'll be sure to ask everyone if they're comfortable with it before I feed my crying baby.

Btw, I'm done with the bf in public debate for now. I don't mean to be rude or drag it on so I won't continue to reply, but some of these comments just surprise me. :/ I don't know if it's just because it's Lucy and we know she loves drama, but I thought women would be more supportive of each other. If it were anyone else but her, would you still feel the same?
As for the name, Karsyn? It's kind of growing on me, but I liked your Chevbo-lyn better.

Yeh can we be done with the breasfeeding stuff?? I kinda like the name too!
Re: xxxJoelPolexxx (Lucy Eades) Part 9
Just to clarify the order of events (not trying to add to the debate), according to the dates stated on the WFAA articles and Lucy's VEDA vlogs, she attended two breastfeeding events: one before going to the BRICK Burleson rec center on August 2 and The Big Latch On event (referred to as a "breastfeeding challenge" by Joel in their VEDA day 3) on August 3. This explains her two different outfits in both WFAA videos.
FYI, the young Ashley Kubacki who sat beside Lucy in the interview about breastfeeding discrimination at the BRICK was seen with Lucy in both WFAA videos.

I don't like Karsyn at ALL. I really hope that's not her name and Lucy just left it in that video to throw us off.
