Previously:
-Jess and Chris discussed how they basically had a non-discussion of "boyfriend/girlfriend" type shit to their kids when they started dating
-Lilia has had 2nd grade drama with two girls at school, but one has since apologized
-Sadie briefly went missing and returned home within hours (and still isn't spayed)
-Jess discussed getting Addie's ears pierced and is leaving the decision up to her
-Lilia, Kyson, and Kaden have had parent-teacher conferences; the boys are doing well, but Lilia is struggling in math and is in an after school program 2x a week
-Jess and Drake are apparently past the "hatred" part of their split and talked as recently as last week, but Drake seeing the boys (or not) has not changed
-Lilia has lost both of her two middle front teeth
-Jess admitted - not shockingly - that she does not have her shit together and has anxiety
-Chris is passing his dad's paintball gear (as much as he can) down to Caden for his upcoming birthday
-Chris and Jess bought Addie a new stroller
-The gang went Halloween costume shopping - there will be one set of costumes for a theme and then on actual trick or treating, the kids are going as whatever they want
-Chris and Jess are happy about his vasectomy, though they have yet to see if Chris has stopped shooting sperm
-Jess's phone broke and she upgraded to a new one after crying about first world problems

You'd think one of the "adults" there would have said perhaps we shouldn't do this because the boys are quite young and will definitely get scared. Even if they thought the boys could cope with it, he should have taken the mask off as soon as he saw that they were distressed.

I found Kaden's reaction interesting though! It was like he was actually scared because of how everyone else was acting but he was convincing himself it wasn't real. Jesss said he knew it wasn't real because he realised Chrisilla wasn't there but he genuinely seemed unsure on the situation and didn't know what to think/believe. Poor kiddos! He seems to get a kick out of scaring the boys.

The other kid there was terrified as well. Kaden seemed to be the only one who wasn't scared. And of course you have Jess telling her tale of how she was so scared by that costume as a kid. So I guess the next logical step is to frighten the crap out of your own kids with it.

I had friends whose parents played pranks on them and I never understood why. I've always hated pranks, they feel mean and like someone is picking on you. Maybe if you have older kids/teenagers who can prank you back. But what is this, like 3 or 4 times now that Chris and Jess have scared the boys? And for what? What's funny or entertaining about watching you children cry?
