Madeline & Eric
Madeline & Eric
Their channel seems to be blowing up at a decent rate. Two teen parents from Australia, whose parents kicked them out so they had to live in their car for a month. They have a daughter called Penelope Autumn, born on Christmas Day 2018.

Re: Madeline & Eric
I have only watched a couple of their videos and haven’t decided if I like them or not yet, but I just watched their vlog on when they called their parents to tell they’re having a baby and it is so fake and badly acted. It was so obvious. I don’t doubt their parents kicked them out and weren’t happy they were having a baby, but they video is so badly done it bothered me.

Yeah I know what you mean, the distorted voices were strange. Also their gender reveal made me cringe.staceybrax wrote:I have only watched a couple of their videos and haven’t decided if I like them or not yet, but I just watched their vlog on when they called their parents to tell they’re having a baby and it is so fake and badly acted. But so far I quite like them, as long as they tone down playing up to the camera. But I think Eric does that more than Madeline.

I feel like the over acting childishness will wear thin really fast.
Something else about the way they talk (maybe the weird pauses) bothers me too.

How do these two have so much money to buy sooo many baby products. They didn't skimp on anything.

Re: Madeline & Eric
Yeah I’m not really convinced that they don’t have help and that they’re parents aren’t around at all. Sydney is so expensive to live in and they seem to live in the city not in the suburbs, they’ve said they pay $500 a week rent but Eric only works part time and they tutor but it was school holidays up until a month ago so I doubt they would have been tutoring for the 6 weeks that school was out. Their YouTube only recently got monetised and they don’t upload all that often so they can’t be making too much money from YouTube and they don’t get sponsorships and they don’t use their Instagram so they don’t get sponsorships on that. I don’t understand how they afford to live on their own. I know they did a budgeting video but it still doesn’t all add up to me, I know people who live in Sydney and who have two full time working parents and they still struggle to afford to live in Sydney because the cost of living is so high so it doesn’t make sense to me that they can afford to live in the city on Eric’s part time wage and some part time tutoring.sprinkles14 wrote:How do these two have so much money to buy sooo many baby products. Here’s my theory, they’ve talked about how disapproving their mothers are and that they have been cut off by their mothers but they haven’t talked about their fathers and what they think of their becoming teen parents. I wonder if their fathers help them out financially. That’s the only way it makes sense to me, for them to be getting some kind of financial help.
I don’t know what it is about them but they seem very fake to me. Penelope is very cute though.

Oh my god, the way they talk is almost comical. It almost feels like I’ve changed the speed of the video to snail pace.missparzival wrote:I feel like the over acting childishness will wear thin really fast.

Also the way Eric always says “Madeline” at the end of every sentence is so weird “we’re having a great time today aren’t we Madeline?”
I don’t know if it’s because they’re young or just their YouTube personas but they just come across a bit bizarre and overly laid back on camera.

Re: Madeline & Eric
They explained that the reason why the voices sounded fake they didnt want thier parents voices out there. I guess a family friend saw the video and one of the parents is a laywer and threatened to sue if they didnt take it down.. I think they are getting money from youtube too now.. I feel bad for them that thier family told them to abort or they had to move out

Re: Madeline & Eric
I find it weird that Eric went on a business trip.. Also the air mac book. That kind of things cost money and they are not on yt for that long. I don't know about their savings and they are not doing any sponsorships.
In general they are calm but I find them a little bit weird. I don't know how to explain it. Maybe they're not familiar with vlogging yet so who knows.

Re: Madeline & Eric
On one hand, I think their journey so far has been pretty incredible. To be kicked out of home, live in a car, and then do all of this without any family support.
On the other hand, they’re clearly rich kids. I don’t know where the money is coming from (maybe just savings?) but their lifestyle definitely does not match up with their budget video. These kids are throwing money around. Not surprised that they will “definitely” be sending Penelope to private school. What a waste of money.
Also recently with Penelope’s fall, they complained that they didn’t have private health insurance so would need to go to the public hospital. As if that’s so below them.
As others have said, their whole style of over the top excitement and happiness is so weird. “Madeline made this DELICIOUS dinner and I am SO EXCITED to eat it”. It’s kind of sweet but very odd.

Re: Madeline & Eric
The hospital thing bothered me too. We have really great healthcare in Australia and there is absolutely nothing wrong with public hospitals. The only thing private health gets you is higher on the list for surgery. It sounded so snobby. I was surprised to hear that they don’t have Penelope on the Medicare system yet. She’s 4 months old, they should sent that paper work in when she was born. You are given all the forms for Medicare/birth registration when your baby is born and it’s supposed to be sent in within 8 weeks if I remember correctly. Do they not have her birth registered? They should really get her registered on the Medicare system for doctors visits, immunisations etc. They won’t be sending her to any fancy private schools without her being fully immunised.youwontknow wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 3:46 pm On one hand, I think their journey so far has been pretty incredible. They are a cute family. For sure we don't know the whole truth about their income, but that Joker smile and the eyes that never blink, seem sooooo weird!!!! I like watching them but I really wonder why they are so excited about everything. They can't keep it real

Re: Madeline & Eric
I have a feeling the YouTube fame and money is going to go to their heads really quickly. For two people who claim to have been homeless a year ago they blow through money like it’s nothing. They broke their lease on their apartment to move into an air bnb “for a couple of weeks” but it seems like they’ve been there for a month or longer and it looks like it’s near the beach which in Sydney would cost a fortune (probably close to $600-$700 a week I would imagine), Madeline’s MacBook (which I get she can use for uni and editing but they are over $2,000) and Eric’s drone which is around $1500. And they don’t even upload often or do sponsorships so I don’t understand how they afford it all.

Re: Madeline & Eric
I think they pull in quite a bit from the tutoring they do. To be as young as they are they seem to have brains. I agree they do seem to be blowing through $$$, I still like to watch them though at least for now I feel it’s only so long until they change like every other vlogger.

With all of the money these two waste, why don't they buy the baby an age appropriate stroller?

Re: Madeline & Eric
These rentals that they’re looking at are likely $600-800 per week. Would have a better idea if we knew which areas of Sydney. They seemed to be looking all over.
Also regarding their air bnb, it’s well outside of Sydney. In the latest blog they mentioned it’s a 5 hour drive?! Not sure how that is being managed with work etc. Pretty sure it’s 5 hours north which would make it Port Macquarie type area. So probably not as expensive as we thought. But what are they doing living all the way up there?! Is Eric commuting for work?! That’s a huge commute. I can’t figure it out.

Re: Madeline & Eric
Yeah I noticed that they said it’s a 5 hours commute to their air bnb too. I don’t know how they’re working that with Uni and their exams. I have a feeling Eric has quit his job which if they can afford to live off YouTube while they focus on uni than more power to them, I guess. They just seem very immature like two teenagers playing house, but they’re parents and they need to start making smarter decisions. I don’t understand why they broke their lease on their apartment to move into an air bnb 5 hours away, that doesn’t make any sense. They should have just stayed in their apartment until they found a new house.youwontknow wrote:These rentals that they’re looking at are likely $600-800 per week.
