The Radford Family (UK)
Is it just me or do these parents look like twins?
Why do you need to buy all those candies?
My posts on this board are only my opinion and shouldnt be taken as fact, unless noted

I think I got a cavity just by looking at the thumbnail.

Re: The Radford Family (UK)
I'm surprised there is not a bigger following here. I can't stand these parents.
So sick of hearing about "we don't claim benefits", I honestly think they are lying.
And the fact Noel was an adult when he got Sue pregnant at age 13.
I have lots more to say if anyone is around

Re: The Radford Family (UK)
Yeah they brush her age under the carpet. It's only because they're still together (pumping out babies) that nobody focuses on the fact she was 13 and he was 18 when the first baby was conceived.
Of course they get child benefits. I think they're trying to say they don't get unemployment benefits but they absolutely get money from the government for the young children and certain tax breaks.

Re: The Radford Family (UK)
This is a very late response but the family actually donated all those Easter Eggs to children who don't get any. In the end each of their children only got 1 each (plus 1 each for completing a free community arranged Easter egg hunt.)IHateCilantro wrote: ↑Fri May 10, 2019 9:22 am

Re: The Radford Family (UK)
The way I understood it they only get the benefits everyone gets.
I think most people think well they're four years apart and that's common enough. My mom was 16 and my dad was 21 back in the 70s and nobody thought anything of it.
This does explain the huge age gap (relatively) between babies 1 and 2.

Re: The Radford Family (UK)
I think the whole "we aren't on benefits" thing isn't strictly a lie, I think they just mean they aren't solely dependent on benefits like most people would assume a family like that would be.
They will get child benefit and possibly some others but I think when they say that it's more a statement of "we work and don't FULLY rely on HMRC"

Re: The Radford Family (UK)
They make it sound like they get nothing, and then say they get some sort of credit, I'm not in the UK and forget what it is. It's still a benefit. I don't even care that they claim them or not, it's the fact they say they get none and then list the credit. I think it probably upsets people in the UK because it must be a large amount with those amount of kids, and for so long. But on the other hand hopefully the kids all grow up to work and pay taxes.
I've watched some of their documentaries and the parents seem just awful. So out of touch. Oh they don't need privacy. Cuts to the kids saying how much they would love privacy and you would never get it around here.
Another part was where the dad was buying meatballs and it seemed like they would only get 2 each and he said something about them always saying they don't get anything good. The details are foggy but it came across like he was guilting them for being hungry/wanting food.
When he makes the YouTube videos of him cooking it's always so small. Like ONE pie for all those people?
They are literally addicted to having kids and every single time they say it's the last one, it never is. They will keep going until they can't.
It looked like one of the older girls, I think it might have been Sophie dropped out of university to come home because they need her to be a surrogate parent. Their house always seems so clean, I wonder how much She does, or if she expects the kids to do it all? I do think kids should do chores, but I bet they are doing too much.
The oldest son Christopher seems to want to stay out of the lime light. I know he has had 2 kids of his own now but he isn't ever featured in their things. I think it speaks volumes that he doesn't seem to approve, doesn't want to be seen with them.
I can't even imagine if they get the girls confused. Bonnie, Sophie, Tillie, it's all EE sounding names. But no pattern for the boys as far as I can tell.
I wonder how much the parents take an interest in their lives. It would be so easy for things to just fall through the cracks. If one waa being bullied for example, they might not even know something seemed different about their child. Do they know their kids friends names? Their favorite bands? I read Sue says she knows all their DOB but I doubt it. They have a board with all that stuff up.
I got fed up when Sue tagged her stroller brand about how it broke. It was clearly old, out of warranty and used a LOT. Regular folk wouldn't get offered that same replacement.

Re: The Radford Family (UK)
Is that what your mother said? I know someone that was 19 and pregnant in the 70s and she definitely got scolded over it. It could very well depend anyway. I will say if I ever had a 13 year old daughter get pregnant by an adult I would not be pleased. 16 is not an adult but there is a difference there.DoodleBop2 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2019 6:52 am The way I understood it they only get the benefits everyone gets.

Yeah is that the biggest gap they have? I think she was still underage with the 2nd one

Re: The Radford Family (UK)
They definitely seem like they are trying to overcome feelings of abandonment from their bio-parents by birthing all of these kids. Even her own kids said that she feels unneeded when there isn't a baby to take care of. Does anyone know the story of child #1 and why they all act like he doesn't exist? Does that play into the psychology of the family?

Re: The Radford Family (UK)
Same. I think this will be their 21st child they take home to raise (hopefully). I believe they are calling her their 22nd, because they count a stillborn boy (Alphie) in their line-up.Drama_llama wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2020 3:30 pm I have tried to do the math but I am still not sure! A documentary came out the other day and it was a boy number 20 and it looks like they have had a girl since and now this pregnancy. I could be wrong though!Kattiness Everdeen wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2020 4:47 pmSame. I think this will be their 21st child they take home to raise (hopefully). Re: The Radford Family (UK)
They said they were working hard so their kids wouldn't be teen parents yet this is the second or third of them to be a teen parent. I wonder if its the level of freedom they have since their parents are so busy with all the others.
Re: The Radford Family (UK)
All I can see in this messed up family is that children are raising children. She is not superwoman to give to all of her kids 100% of her attention. There's no way. The older kids are unhappy and she lives in her own world where she thinks herself as holy Mary. Their situation is disgusting. I see a lot of therapy needed for her 20 kids.

Re: The Radford Family (UK)
I know the oldest girl was a teen mom (she eventually married the father and just had an accidental 3rd child). I don't know much about the oldest boy though. Was he a teen father? I read that he has 2 kids and his wife has kids from a previous marriage.DoodleBop2 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 29, 2020 12:12 pm They said they were working hard so their kids wouldn't be teen parents yet this is the second or third of them to be a teen parent. Did Millie mention who the father is, or if she will be raising them alongside her new sibling in the family house? At least she is 5 years older than her mom when she got pregnant. I am sure being a legal adult comes in handy when raising a child. Does she go to college or work?
