Re: Phil and Alex: No Pregnancy Glow, a Food Baby to Show, and Editing Slow | Part 7
Unbelievable. The baby has the same genetic defect that Phil has! These people are sick. They either knew about it and implanted it anyways because they were so desperate or they overlooked the heart screenings all together. They knew this was a huge possibility. This is prob why none of their other babies survived. Phil was never supposed to have a bio baby for this reason....clearly. I wouldn't be surprised if Alex secretly wanted this. Infertility to RV life to pregnancy to heart surgery all documented for their subscribers. It will be them with their precious medically fragile bio baby while kinsley and cali are raised by relatives. They should not be allowed to have any more bio children.

I feel for them even though I do agree the camera Phil set up was tacky. But I can't imagine having a baby during this scary time for our country, let alone a baby that will need heavy medical care.

Re: Phil and Alex: No Pregnancy Glow, a Food Baby to Show, and Editing Slow | Part 7
Phils comment "we thought we ruled this out with genetic testing" was just BS. HOW!?!?!?! How would this honestly get overlooked? They met with genetic counselors many times. I'm sure they thought they could just "pray" that the baby would be healthy. Things like that just don't get overlooked. Sorry. They are liars. This poor poor baby will have to suffer because of their selfishness. If they actually cared about that baby's quality of life they would have been asking the hard questions at every doctor and every appointment and checked....verified and checked again over and over! Maybe even with multiple doctors just to make sure that embryo didn't have phils condition.

Re: Phil and Alex: No Pregnancy Glow, a Food Baby to Show, and Editing Slow | Part 7
So it's a congenital heart defect.
Rachelle Swannie will be pissed because Alex is going to be able to milk this one far more!
Definitely seems like they had a heads up. That their two anatomy scans weren't just inconclusive because the baby was in the wrong position, but that they suspected something was wrong. Because they were already very nervous on their way to the scan. So they just withheld info to suit their narrative for weeks. Sounds about right.
I do feel bad for Phil blaming himself for this. He didn't do anything wrong. And he'll have to live with Alex's subtle blame game.
Still can't stand the setup. They perfectly positioned the camera on the far end of the consultation room to record their "secret" conversation and cry. Who does that at a time like this? These youtubers really aren't right....

Re: Phil and Alex: No Pregnancy Glow, a Food Baby to Show, and Editing Slow | Part 7
Okay, this is going to come up a million times, so....
YOU CANNOT GENETICALLY TEST FOR THIS CONDITION.
THE EMBRYO TESTING DOES NOT TEST FOR CONGENITAL DEFECTS LIKE THIS.
Phil spoke stupidly when he said that he thought the testing ruled it out. But I'll give him a free pass for that because he may not have been thinking clearly, even though they were thinking clearly enough to find good camera positions, so they're weren't entirely overwhelmed. And they could have removed it in editing....
BUT, AGAIN, THEY COULD NOT TELL THIS AT THE EMBRYO STAGE.
People with CHD's have about a 10% risk of having a child with one. It's just how it goes. The cards have to fall badly for someone.

It’s 50%. The rates are really high when the parent has the condition. They knew it was coming. They just chose to ignore it. I’m surprised they haven’t used their favourite phrase “it’s us, Phil and Alex, of course the baby has chd!” Like they do whenever anything upsets their perfect life plan of the perfect boy bio baby.
Alex is the same woman who declared she would without hesitation transplant the Trisomy embryo, and they will pray and see what happens. This is you Alex, you can’t cope with much more, please for the love of god, stop the RV, find a permanent place and spend as much time with your two girls now, cause you’ll be away from them so much once baby is born.
Also, no more birthing centre. I wonder if she’s be advised to have a c-section.

Re: Phil and Alex: No Pregnancy Glow, a Food Baby to Show, and Editing Slow | Part 7
We won’t get another vlog for month now. This also just shattered her dream of giving birth at the birthing center.
The “miracle baby” is not as perfect as they wanted. I pray that god takes control over them and rids them off their selfishness.
The fact that they are so shocked by the news is incomprehensible to me. You took your husband’s genes and expected perfect outcome.
I feel bad for the baby girl but not for them.they pushed and pushed And ignored signs all along.
Maybe you pushed too much.
You have 2 daughters that will be pushed to the side and eventually will resent you for it.

I feel bad for them. As much as we snark on them, with good reason, no one deserves this. No baby deserves this.
I can imagine what they are feeling. I've felt a lot of the same. Trying so hard for something and every step of the way going wrong.
I don't necessarily believe in signs from God or the universe. The world just sucks sometimes.
I hope they make it through. Together. As a family. I hope the baby is ok and healthy. Everyone deserves that. Everyone.

I really want to sympathize, but I just find myself rolling my eyes at their dramatics. Phil calls this "the death of a dream" and they title the video "OUR WORST FEAR."
Sit down. Your baby is alive and well with a treatable condition. It will be difficult and it's obviously not news any parent wants to hear, but it's far from the worst case scenario.

I hope and pray this baby is ok. I am sure all of Alex’s big plans of having a natural birth, in a birthing center are all squashed. She will probably go in early, have a csection and then their problems will begin. I just pray they do not do this again. Alex will have a pregnancy, give birth and that should make her happy. Enough of listening toThem talk about having 10 kids. Some people were just not made to have kids.

I feel bad for their situation and that poor little girl, but there's just NO way they didnt know this was a high possibility. Not only does the biological father have a history of heart defects, but ivf in general raises the risks. They had to have been told this dozens of times. I also think they knew by the second anatomy scan this was likely, and its just now being fully confirmed.
I hope this is a wakeup call for them to find a proper home for the kids and a place where a high risk infant will have stability near a hospital.

Re: Phil and Alex: No Pregnancy Glow, a Food Baby to Show, and Editing Slow | Part 7
This CHD is a big deal. Major surgeries and NICU stays (in the middle of a pandemic too) are a given. Half of the babies will suffer some degree of brain injury from the lack of oxygen during or post-surgery. So it's not quite right to say modern medicine will make it all okay. Maybe, but also maybe not. And you don't get to choose. I'd be terrified and devastated in their position.
Phil legitimately is a miracle to have pulled through that 30 years ago. It's probably their only accurate vlog title.
But yes, these you-tubers with the clarity of mind to get great camera angles in the midst of their grief (and to capture it) is just bizarre. Seems to be the year for it.

Re: Phil and Alex: No Pregnancy Glow, a Food Baby to Show, and Editing Slow | Part 7
I seriously hope this is a massive wake up call and they stop trying to force Mother Nature to do the opposite of what Mother Nature does!! This poor innocent child will now have to go through who knows how much pain and suffering. IVF + Phil... of course the baby has a heart condition. I would have been shocked if she didn’t!! The shock Phil and Alex put on either shows just how phony they are or they’re even more stupid than I thought. I pray for the baby that this has a good outcome, but Phil and Alex need to be stopped. God is telling them no, they just refuse to hear it.

Re: Phil and Alex: No Pregnancy Glow, a Food Baby to Show, and Editing Slow | Part 7
So, it's unfortunate, and I feel bad that they have to go through this... but this condition is treatable. The baby will have to have surgery and of course that's scary for parents to deal with and awful to put a baby through, but the mortality rates are low for this defect when it's caught early (unlike when Phil was diagnosed) and corrected with surgery. They know what to expect and it's scary, but not the end of the world. The baby will need to see the doctor and may have complications but can live a happy, healthy life. It's easier to say this from the outside I'm sure, I'd be terrified if it was my child, but realistically, it's going to be okay. Phil and Alex made it sound way worse than it should be. And to IVFwarrior, most babies are fine after the surgeries and lead normal lives:https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/me ... ion-defect

The bitterness Alex shows toward Phil is so cringy. "Its YOUR heart condition but you're not nervous" and other small jabs. You can tell in her head she's just thinking "Phil is lucky I'm such a great woman, other women would've totally left him when his genes weren't good enough."

Re: Phil and Alex: No Pregnancy Glow, a Food Baby to Show, and Editing Slow | Part 7
I agree with everyone here. I feel horrible for them. No one wants their baby to have CHD. and their baby is a VICTIM here obviously. She is an innocent life who did not choose to have Phil & Alex as parents. She deserves a healthy & happy life. I know we come here to gossip about them, but I hope that we can all come together and pray - for the innocent baby girls sake, that she will be okay. I hope they take this as a sign of God to appreciate their three beautiful girls.
Re: Phil and Alex: No Pregnancy Glow, a Food Baby to Show, and Editing Slow | Part 7
I myself have a single ventricle-which is one of the more serious heart conditions there is. Once a parent has a heart condition-whether it was genetic or random (mine was random)-it then becomes genetic and can affect your kids, their kids, etc. With that being said, I was told on multiple occasions that it was only a 3-5% chance of being passed down to my kids-not crazy high numbers like some were saying above. You can also pass down any kind of heart condition-such as just missing a valve or something more simple-it doesn’t have to be the same exact thing you have. So I think it’s crazy that it was passed down and it’s the same exact thing Phil has-that’s some bad luck. I have two kids and neither of them got anything from me so we were very lucky. But it is actually a pretty small chance however I know that ivf also increases chances of heart issues so I’m sure that didn’t help their case. Also, there is no way they didn’t catch it on the anatomy scan. Knowing a parent has a heart condition they would have checked very carefully and then also done the fetal echo to make sure everything was okay. But they definitely found out at their anatomy scan. Medicine is amazing these days so hopefully they can fix their little girl and she can grow up to be happy and healthy like many of us living with serious heart conditions.

Re: Phil and Alex: No Pregnancy Glow, a Food Baby to Show, and Editing Slow | Part 7
Honestly, I wouldn't be praying for P&A right now. The heart defect is what it is, there isn't going to be some miracle between now and birth that's going to magically fix it, and they knew going in that this was a possibility. They continued to force IVF pregnancies over and over when they clearly are not a good genetic match and have the audacity to act surprised when their tiny handful of science embryos that they spent countless years and $$$ on aren't perfectly made by "God's" hands. They were only thinking of themselves and their desires, not what would be the likely outcome if they were successful. They reap what they sowed.
Pray instead that the doctors, nurses, and surgeons will have an easy time operating on baby in the first days of her life and that baby will pull through with minimal or no complications. She didn't deserve to be stuck with a couple of self-centered, short-sighted idiots as parents, but alas, none of us got to choose who we share genetics with. She has my pity, lord knows she deserves it. Kinsley and Callie, too.
