Curious as to where you think she would go? If she has medical it's likely through the state. If that is the case that's probably where they would send her until she is farther along.

I don't live in the US, so not sure how it works there. But the way the advertising is worded, I would call it a pregnancy crisis centre. In my mind (again, not a US native) it would be where you would go if you we're considering abortion, and needed facts/advice about pregnancy. Otherwise, why have the quote above as the first thing you see on the websites home page?

I assume that most people (even Jess herself for her other pregnancies) would have a test and bloodwork taken by a GP, along with a referral to a local hospital or OB. Here we use midwifery care in a hospital, so ultrasounds are referred to specialists.

I was just wondering that maybe she realises that home based midwifery care doesn't have nearly as many u/s... Especially not as many as she had with the twins. So maybe she advised that she's considering abortion to get the early ultrasounds?

If you notice, the place she went calls itself a "center" not a "clinic." crisis pregnancy centers aren't actually medical clinics. Their sole priority is to get as many women to not have an abortion as possible. because they aren't actually medical centers they aren't covered under HIPPA and all they can do are home pregnancy tests and ultrasounds. Also because they aren't covered under HIPPA they often use your personal information against you (releasing the information or notifying your family so you are harassed or shamed) if you don't decide to keep your pregnancy because they don't have to follow dr patient confidentiality. I would bet that there isn't even a doctor that works there.

And nobody said she wanted an abortion. They said that usually places like that don't do ultrasounds unless you claim to be considering abortion as a way to try to make you change your mind they wonder if she's being deceptive. Personally, I don't care. CPCs can't give women any actual health care (no blood tests or antibiotics or anything) and I dislike places like that would use shady tactics to get women to do what they want them to so I don't mind her wasting their time and money.

What's wrong with a CPC? I went there for a pregnancy test and an ultrasound with my oldest when I was 17. Our CPC is awesome, I also did earn while you Learn parenting classes there. I still keep in touch with the staff there and I have 3 other children. My second son I went there for my test and ultrasound as well, you don't have to be considering an abortion for them to test and ultrasound you, it's just a service they offer and it's free.

And I do t know where you got your info from they def have hippa and privacy clause, they make you fills form on who is allowed to know your information, like so and so cannot call and ask does so and so have an appointment and they will release the info.

In my area, most Ob/gyns won't start seeing you until you have a pregnancy confirmation letter. So we have pregnancy centers that will give pregnancy tests, ultrasounds and counseling for abortion/adoption (if that's the route you choose). They even give vouchers/coupons for the Salvation Army/Goodwill stores to.purchase baby stuff if you can't afford it. I've never heard of them guilt-tripping people or releasing their information. They would be shut down if they did that here.

The place she went is like Planned Parenthood. They do the pregnancy tests and ultrasounds. They do other things as well. Most doctors at a hospital or GP only give you a test they won't do an ultrasound until they think you are 8-10 weeks. Given she isn't really sure how far she is the center was the fastest route.

I live in modesto too but I do not know Jessica. I went to her first high school though and saw her around. That place is exactly like planned parenthood. Most people, insurance or not, young or old, go there or planned parenthood until they're a little farther along just because it's low cost or free (depending on your income) and actual appointments aren't really necessary until a little later. Why pay a $40 copay to get a due date scan when you can get one (literally) right around the corner for free? I see nothing wrong with it. That's one reason those places exist. Yes, they do offer abortion services, but most people are just there for tests and due date ultrasounds.
