Christmas Songs
What is your favorite and/or least favorite Christmas songs everyone!?!?
Me? I am quite a fan of The First Noel and Auld Lang Syne (which isn't really a Christmas song but I've always seen it as one since I was a little girl and it was one of my favorite moments in my favorite Christmas movie It's A Wonderful Life.) My least favorites are the really commercialized ones, I even dislike Jingle Bells at times unless its played traditionally.

Re: Christmas Songs
Santa Baby, So This Is Christmas, Hard Candy Christmas and anything from The Nutcracker.
Re: Christmas Songs
My favorite christmas album is A Merry Christmas from Frank Sinatra.
I love the song Mistletoe and Holly, lol. And jingle bells.
I love Santa Baby (the original one, not any of the remakes)
Bing Crosby.
Sigh.
Oldies.

Re: Christmas Songs
I have a CD of Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole Christmas songs and I love the one where whichever of them sings O Tannenbaum. When I was younger I LOVED Leroy the Redneck Reindeer.

Re: Christmas Songs
I like pretty much any Christmas music, but I have 1 song I HATE:
1) So This is Christmas -- everyone I know says this song depresses them every year.

Re: Christmas Songs
I like some traditional Christmas music.. like the stuff that gets played everywhere. Just simple old stuff... but I hate when it gets over done. (I think most people do)
I do really like TSO Christmas music. I love how they incorporate heavy guitars and drums into their stuff.

Re: Christmas Songs
Merry Christmas Everybody- Slade.
Merry Christmas Everyone- Shakin' Stevens.
Fairytale in New York- The Pogues.
Stop the Cavalry- Jona Lewie.
I also love listening to all the old, classic Christmas songs too. I love Christmas and Christmas music so there isn't many songs that really annoy me. There is this one called 'Feliz Navidad', not sure who sings it but for some reason I hate it haha.

Re: Christmas Songs
I have the Glee Christmas CDs playing on repeat all day from December 1 onwards.
My husband prefers Elvis Presley Blue Christmas, Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra. That's cool, I like them too.
I'm a huge Christmas music fan. I buy 1 or 2 new CDs every year. Have a huge collection.
Favourite song..hmmmm.....
Favourite Religious song is O Holy Night.
Non religious....White Christmas or Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire. Both completely inappropriate for Australia but I love them with a passion. There's nothing like singing about snow when it's stinking hot, you're sweating over the stove and you've never actually touched snow in your life.

Re: Christmas Songs
Off topic but I think quite a bit of Northern Hemisphere-er's expectations of a kangaroo and quite a bit of Southern Hemisphere-er's expectations of snow are about the same.
Not as exciting as they seem to be.

Re: Christmas Songs
Oooh no, I still stop and stand in wonder when I see ...erm.....flock, pride, group.....of kangaroos. They're amazing.
Snow, slush, slippery footpaths and freezing cold weather I can live without. My husband has the opportunity to work in London for a while and I still hesitate because of the weather. I love London like a second home.
But show me a koala or a kangaroo or the Sydney Harbour Bridge and I still shiver with excitement and pride to be Australian.

Re: Christmas Songs
I've never seen snow fall from the sky, but fresh on the ground while I took trips to Canada, New York, & Northern Cali. Something I wish to experience one day.

We put the tree up with the air conditioning on. Not right at all. Florida.whatsername_ wrote:Sounds like Florida.thegooseiscooked wrote: There's nothing like singing about snow when it's stinking hot, you're sweating over the stove and you've never actually touched snow in your life.
