Dollar Store test?

Hello ladies!

I am currently 9 days late and friday night I took a dollar store test (keep in mind i pee'd three times before the test and drank alot of water to take the test) and it came out negative..which im sure it probably did because it wasn't first mornings pee. Anyways I want to test again but not sure if I should use another dollar store brand. I just don't want to spend alot of money on a test and be really said its negative. So has anyone has problems with the dollar store ones?

I tested with 2 dollar store tests, a First Response, and a ClearBlue digital. The latter two came out much clearer than the former two.

Use first morning urine and test again, and if you don't feel like splurging on the digital, I highly recommend a First Response.


This was my first test (not exactly "dollar store" but 88 cents at Walmart lol)


Second test (roughly 14 hours after the first test)


Third and fourth tests (spent a little more for these)

the first two is the one i got. It was negative but I think because I drank alot of water that could of changed what it was really meant to be. I'll try first response and might wait till friday because then it will make me two weeks late and from what my Ptracker on my phone says the start of my fertile window for December. I'm just really scared for a negative

Yeah if you drink a lot of water beforehand it can dilute the hCG in your urine (provided there is any). Best of luck to you

I used cheapie tests. I let SO pick them up, lol.

The 2 for 5 bucks kind. And it was blatant. Just use first morning urine, and be patient.

I always used dollar store test and they was always right. They all are just testing for the same hormone.

How come tests are so cheap wherever you guys are? here they are like $10 each

DON'T DO THE CHEAP TESTS DO THE GOOD ONES lol literally I took the cheap tests five times and thought I was in the clear. My husband felt in his gut that I was pregnant and was set on proving me wrong so he bought a more expensive one and sure enough it was positive... don't get me wrong I felt likeI was pregnant but I was in denial until I saw that positive line. Cheap tests just don't work as well as a first response test in my honest opinion lol

I think on Friday I am going to test and probably use a first response. I'd be two weeks late then but I just want to give it till then to test again. I had cramps yesterday and thought AF was coming for sure but didnt! so fingers crossed!

Any luck??? And I agree with whoever said to not use the cheap tests - as you can see from my tests the more expensive ones turned out to be the better ones.

I felt like AF was coming so I didn't get a test. But it didn't come and im 18 days late. Tomorrow I might just swing by the store and get one. I have no symptoms though so i'm really scared its going to be a BFN

I had hardly anything when I got my BFP (just 2 days late and really thirsty). A friend of mine went her entire pregnancy with no symptoms except a late period. Good luck
