Yes I agree but she didn't follow education in _fully_ becoming a therapist, I meant to clear out that a PhD is research, and her research was about social media in youth, because people were kind of impressed and assuming she was a therapist, capable in treating disorders. I oversaw the detail for a moment that you're only called a Psychologist with a PhD, it's the same in Astronomy, and the same as here as in you need advanced education after your Masters to be titled a Psychologist. Correct me if I'm wrong but becoming a therapist, where I live called Clinical Psychologist, is a different route than a PhD. Even during your masters you either chose for instance clinical psychology or research, or social psychology etc. If you choose research you can't apply for the advanced education of becoming a Clinical Psychologist (therapist), and vice versa, although you can still take a PhD in clinical psychology but that doesn't make you a Clinical Psychologist, but a researcher in the field. Point is still though that she did the assessments which is considered 'lower' than giving actual treatment. So we shouldn't overestimate her therapeutic interventions capability and get confused is what I'm saying. Her PhD has little to do with therapy. Because people were saying: I don't want my child to be seen/treated by her. Well she is not a child psychologist in that sense, and in any event doesn't have experience herein, except for a couple of internships, but this doesn't allow you to give treatment. Hope this makes it clear what I meantscout wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2019 5:43 pmI'm a long time lurker that is in graduate school in hopes of becoming a psychologist, so I wanted to give my two cents. Poor kid, he and Gaines have no chance to have a good sibling bond with Katie constantly putting Gaines on a pedestal. How could anyone take her seriously as a child psychologist.

I believe Katie loves Cullen and I am happy she does, I enjoyed the beginning when she was sweet with him. But the content was unsubstantial and they avoided 'real' assumptions. I'm curious if people have proposed assumptions about the favoring.
She said she did assessments in her job. That is lower than giving treatment, I wish I could explain it in English but it's a bit like doing the dirty work, and it means that saying "I'm a child psychologist" sounds fancier than it really was because people would understand that as if she gave therapy and treatment. And if she didn't do this then it also makes even lesser sense that she said she used her degree upon her kids, if you don't use therapeutic 'interventions' then what do you use? Yeah insight, but haven't we all? The thing a psychologist would have maybe more readily available is 1 thing: correcting on yourself, so not acting out your emotions, I'm not saying 'normal' people aren't capable of this. But I don't see this with Katie, I see that she is acting like a normal human being and just favoring like a normal human being, I've never seen some real clear insight capability with her etc. Also important to be clear about that she isn't a therapist or clinical psychologist, she is simply a psychologist plus did a PhD which has nothing to do with clinical psychology and becoming a therapist. She is a psychologist (uni degree) that worked with children. Her PhD is apart from all this. It's not that because of her PhD she is better with children or as a therapist which she isn't to begin with. I've said this before but the context is better now.

Personally, I think they’re both too selfish, self centered and immature. Cullen just puts it out there for the world to see, she is better at hiding it because she is smarter than him and clearly is a better manipulator.
I personally no longer buy what they are trying to sell! They almost got me back with the coming clean video but that was clearly shut down and edited quickly to fit Katie’s narrative. I know the devoted fans on this board will always find ways to defend them but I just feel there’s o much dishonesty to what they say and do to keep up their “image”

I think a lot of their devoted fans, myself included, have stepped back and watched them fall apart and unable to put the pieces back. They've definitely changed. Hate all the lying/hiding and it's sad because I really enjoyed their videos!

There are many kinds of psychologists. Some do therapy/talking, some do research, and some do assessment. I’m pretty sure she did assessment. So she’d be the person to do all the IQ tests and stuff on children for their psycho-educational assessments for their schooling. (I studied psychology, Autism Behavioural Science, and have done the psych assessment twice myself due to having ADHD)
But she was a “real” psychologist. They make good money. Where I am they make around $100-$120K a year.
Yeah she didn’t specialize in intervention or talk therapy, but she probably does have knowledge in the area.
I just think in general, no one should be thinking her educational is ‘less than’. It is impressive. I’m envious. I just wish she continued with it and helped make a difference in children’s lives. We can never have too many of those kind of people in the world.

I don’t think Katie was ever in it for the children. I think she was in it for the sake of saying she was a psychologist and had a Ph.D and for the pay.

Her license is active. I think that’s what it all means (i have a 7 week old baby so I’m a little foggy)
I looked it up on the Alabama board of psychology examiner website.

She just got it up to date. She was not licensed for a long time.
Re: Katie:Learning to Say No to Everything Except Gaines|Part 21
Gaines is such a brat! She kept trying to grab and snatch a shell out of Emily’s hand in Kelley’s vlog.

Did anyone catch in Kelly's vlog where Grand dolly said that katie has given her a list. The list contained a swing set and a basketball goal for the kids.

In cullen's instagram pic it looks like he is holding a beer. Surely, he isn't just going to put that out there after all the addiction crap.

Don't you know, alcohol isn't an issue for him?

I officially unsubbed today. They are lying, uncouth, entitled shits. Gaines is a brat and Brooks will have a horrible speach impediment from that stupid binky. They do nothing to teach their kids and they are so damn lazy.. I’m done. Maybe check in from time to time to see if Brooks chucks the binky and begin to speak clearly. He’s adorable and they are ruining him. Sad

Exactly. Despite him talking openly in the beginning about alcohol being an issue for both himself AND Katie it’s actually not an issue.lmmomSD wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2019 4:52 pmThey had champagne out when they were on the cruise.Littlemama wrote:In cullen's instagram pic it looks like he is holding a beer. Re: Katie:Learning to Say No to Everything Except Gaines|Part 21
I finally watched some of the JK Today videos from the beach. Damn! Katie is freaking sunburned and DRUNK AF in the video celebrating birthdays. I thought Katie might actually pass out at the table.
And how freaking rude is she to Kelley? AND she left her own freaking wallet in the shopping bag with Madelyn's gift? What?!!?!
Katie seems to be losing it!
I'm curious if Kelley and fam were honest about leaving the beach early for Madelyn's real b-day...or if they were sick of being around Cullen and Katie.

I think Kelly and Jay was tired of Cullen katie and the kids. In the vlog cullen said something about Brooks was being wild and Jay was yelling at Bennett thinking it was him. Plus that is a lot of people in one house with Kelly jay cullen Katie grandoc grandolly and all the kids. Idk how long I could of stood it.

Jay called Brooks Bennett. They were saying Brooks is just how Bennett was when Bennett was that age.Littlemama wrote:I think Kelly and Jay was tired of Cullen katie and the kids. Can’t lie...WHAT PARENT HAS NOT WANTED TO SHUT THEIR KID UP FROM TIME TO TIME??? I KNOW I HAVE! Heck, l wish they made binkies for teenagers right about now with a 12.5 year and and almost 15 year old in my house! things in parenting, it’s literally about taking the high road and doing what is best for the kid not for your own comfort. I am sure the poor kid is gonna have orthodontic issues from that stupid paci too!
