OKBaby: Screw the Doctor! Vasectomy for Oscar! | Part 34
Re: OKBaby: Screw the Doctor! Vasectomy for Oscar! | Part 34
It's so weird they reedited the same video just made the scenes a little longer. Seems super view grabbing. The first video had 700,000 views or something already. I'd get if they weren't happy with it and decided to make a more romanticised memory reel to look back on but did we really need to see them showering together in a birth video???
Re: OKBaby: Screw the Doctor! Vasectomy for Oscar! | Part 34
There are plenty of practices that will allow skin to skin after a c section while mother is being stitched up. That’s not the point of my post. The fact they were separated in different rooms seems off to me.Emysere wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 5:22 amI've never had kids but a caesarean is major surgery. I know baby was with her dad but when I first had my son I wanted to be near him immediately doing skin to skin. I’ve never heard of a hospital separating mom and baby after a c section... kinda made me wonder if they were doing more than the c section. Like tying kyra’s tubes.

It's very likely Kyra had a lot of scar tissue and it was taking longer than expected to close. If so, they will send dad and baby to wait in the room to lessen the craziness of the OR as long as baby checks out okay and needs no sudden care.Rottiemom wrote:I’ve only had a vaginal birth so forgive my ignorance, is it common practice to separate mom and baby like that after a c section? Ok so they don’t post for days after the birth vlog which itself was a week or so later. And they go and repost the same video “extended” all they did was make it a little longer. Man, I wish I could get away with such little effort at work..

Yeah I think Averie was the only baby that they allowed her to immediately do some sort of skin to skin with. I think they let Averie lay on her near Kyras chest or something idk. With the other ones it only seemed like she was with them for less than 5 minutes.kerenkrazyeyes wrote:It's very likely Kyra had a lot of scar tissue and it was taking longer than expected to close. Wow. Ok. Where to start lol
First of all, the royal family doesn't even hold out on baby names or pics like these two, are they delusional? lol Sis, we don't care that much.
Plus you would think they would have "released" the name way before the face, because that's what people were curious about most.
Spoiler alert: She looks the same as the rest, go figure.
And when I say she looks the same as the rest, she ain't all that cute.
I mean all their kids are kids, don't get me wrong, they are not to blame for the fact that their parents genes just don't mix well.
Honestly the artist formally known as TeEnY kna Averie, was absolutely horrendous looking at times as an infant, but she is much cuter now. Maybe this will be the same with this baby. Alaya's personality makes up for any unfortunate genes she was handed, but the rest, idk we'll see.
Also, ya'll do know that the name probably isn't Ruby at all. It's gonna be something that doesn't make any sense because when Kyra says "it makes sense if that makes sense" you know it won't because Neither one of them have any sense, period.
Girl, you already told us her name, it's ROO. The real name will never get used anyway so what you holding out for honey?
Girrrllll did you really upload the same video and call it an extended birth vlog, and then slap 5 ads in there for good measure. SIS NO ONE CARES ABOUT YA Lame Birth vlog enough to watch it twice and watch it even longer and with a bunch of ads.
Life is gonna be awfully bleak for them when the onlyyyy thing that makes her happy (being pregnant and having a newborn) will now be taken away and once her youngest hits 1 and she can't just make another baby to distract her...well there goes that relationship and whatever sanity she has left since she won't seek therapy.
Hurry up tell us the name and go back to uploading every 2 weeks, we're over ya'll.

I used to work in an obstetric theatre here in the UK and if it happened to be a very long closing of the wound they would sometimes take baby and dad off to recovery. Kyra probably had a lot of stuff that needed to be sorted out. Not very often though.Rottiemom wrote:There are plenty of practices that will allow skin to skin after a c section while mother is being stitched up. That’s not the point of my post. I’m in US and had scheduled csection like Kyra. I got to see baby for about 2-3 minutes and then they took baby and my husband to recovery area while I was being closed up. They told me to expect that at my pre op appt so I think it’s common practice.Rottiemom wrote:I’ve only had a vaginal birth so forgive my ignorance, is it common practice to separate mom and baby like that after a c section? Re: OKBaby: Screw the Doctor! Vasectomy for Oscar! | Part 34
My final guess for the baby name is Rowan because the nickname Roo is kind of a stretch so I feel like that fits with the way they are.
Re: OKBaby: Screw the Doctor! Vasectomy for Oscar! | Part 34
I don't really follow this family, but they come up on my instagram/youtube feed from time to time, and have been for years. I never watch their vids because they just seem like another annoying popular youtube family that only cares about views and money. All I think when I see them is the fact that their kids are not cute at all. I mean they both aren't that good looking either so I wouldn't expect for their kids to be, but their kids are seriously not cute.
As for the new baby's name, I'm not sure if it will have "roo" as a nickname or possibly even start with an R, since the one that they call teeny's name is actually Averie. The name could be something like Ruby or Rooney, but I think it may also be something starting with an A to match Alaya and Averie, but idk. I just hate how youtube families drag shit out like this. It's pointless.

Yep- with all the C-sections she's had back to back, she likely has quite a bit of scar tissue and maybe adhesions that needed taken care of. She also may have had some bleeding that they didn't mention in the video. And some hospitals are just behind the times and don't get the importance of skin to skin contact.kerenkrazyeyes wrote:It's very likely Kyra had a lot of scar tissue and it was taking longer than expected to close. Taking baby and dad out after C section is VERY common in the states that’s how every c section I know of has gone. When my sister went for hers I was with her and me and baby were taken out while they stitched her also this is just c section I had given birth alone for my 3rd I was beyond exhausted and just out of it when baby was born they held her on me for a few mins than took it her out so i can have space to handle everything that just happened child birth is rough! And I don’t blame them for waiting a week for a birth blog or name most women get 6 weeks off from work and they’re releasing a vlog days after I give them credit I’m sure they rather spend that time healing and cuddling baby not editing

Uh...their job is literally to film and post videos about their life, and birth vlogs are usually extra popular. It's not like it's a lot of work sitting on your butt editing. After the birth of all my babies I spent so much time in the hospital doing absolutely nothing.Hereforthemamadrama wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 12:15 pm Taking baby and dad out after C section is VERY common in the states that’s how every c section I know of has gone. Not to say they don't deserve some sort of break right after birth (I personally don't give a shit if/when they upload) but they certainly don't need 6 weeks like a normal working person gets. I think many women would be thrilled to spend a few hours "working" after birth if it meant a big fat paycheck...

Skip to the end of the video, then replay it. It gets rid of all of the adds. Thats how i watch everything on ytBethany_Blue wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 9:16 am

Very much off topic, but women get only 6 weeks off after a childbirth? Women in my country get 1 year paid maternity (parental) leave. From what I’ve seen, it’s common to take the baby. It’s normally the dad wheeling or carrying the baby out to the waiting family.
As for the name. She’s dragging it out. By this stage we’d already heard the ACE babies names and they are the freaking worst for this stuff.

We can take longer in the states, but it isn't paid. We can apply for "Family Medical Leave", and take up to 12 weeks unpaid, but keep our jobs and benefits.

Re: OKBaby: Screw the Doctor! Vasectomy for Oscar! | Part 34
I'm a midwife and yes, it is very common for the father ( or midwives ) to take the baby from the operating theatres and back to the ward to await the mother's return, in fact I have never seen it done differently. It takes only minutes from the first cut to the baby being delivered, but then takes about 45 minutes to retrieve the placenta and carefully stitch up all the layers from the inner uterus to the outer skin ( there are a lot of layers to be sutured ). Sometimes there are small nicks to the bladder or other organs which also need repairing, scar tissue to be dealt with, or excessive blood loss to manage. The midwife's role in the OT ends when the baby has been received, checked over, and is ready for either the ward or nursery. We stay if paeds are needed and we are part of the resus team, and we always accompany Dad back with the baby, we don't just say "here you go Dad, here's your baby, we'll see you later" but we are not part of the surgical team working on the mother. We resume care of Mum back on the ward.Rottiemom wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 5:13 am I’ve only had a vaginal birth so forgive my ignorance, is it common practice to separate mom and baby like that after a c section? I have worked in some hospitals where the baby has to wait on the ward until Mum comes back, but others where as long as they have the staff, a midwife can remain in recovery so as soon as Mum is out of theatre she can have skin to skin and be helped with the first breastfeed. This re-unites Mum and bub about an hour earlier than where this is not an option and is lovely when this can happen, but sadly is not the "norm".

Discord is a website/app that allows people to create groups to chat with others. It's text based chatting typically, but also voice chatting. It became popular for gamers but now people from many different interest groups have created one. You can find it by just typing discord.com or by someone sharing an invite link. This site's invite link is https://discord.gg/CvMRgxXMzT or can be found at the top of the home page. So basically it's just another place to chat with people!frenchfryfiend wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 9:28 pm I have a feeling they uncomfortable with Alaya because she is smart and independent. Also can I ask...I know this may sound odd to people but...what is a discord? What does it do and how do you find it?

Re: OKBaby: Screw the Doctor! Vasectomy for Oscar! | Part 34
I think everyone understood them taking a week off. But if she would have just let Oscar work on the vlog himself (she originally said they both did it) then maybe it would have been like the second. She's got control issues. And leaving the shower scene in, like this baby will want that in their birth vlog. But I do think this was all for more views, people probably watched thinking it would have the name reveal or something.
Yes people get maternity leave, I get it. But I think paternity leave if the employer offers it is only 2 weeks if that. This is Oscars job as well. And they had help with the kids still.
