What happend to her sister and her podcast? Her and CRs podcast? The issue with Angela is she has so much content people would watch... her decor style is not the normal influencer white on white so she could do so many "decorating the new house" videos, videos about the farm, homeschool videos, actual real budget videos, etc.... its so sad to see someone who was so genuine and with so much to share just waste away her opportunities on lip fillers and critters. Her little obsessions with be what ruins her.

It's obvious that she's struggling for content at the moment - her homeschooling vlogs in the past have actually been really interesting. I'm not a fan at all of the new vlog style - music and slow motion - I just skipped through most of it to see if there was actually anything interesting.

I think she's having a real hard time right now. She didn't get a real break during holidays, she just did the mom thing instead of escaping to do her work. All that bs about wanting to slow down, slow living, sustainability etc. They essentially moved to a house with less bedrooms that is badly divided for a large family. She used to be able to film herself in her bedroom while the kids were downstairs, now she needs the kids outside. I guess with her shed that won't be a problem anymore. The animals take a lot of her time and don't provide food. The homestead aspect is complete BS as well. Even though she'll have a garden next summer, she has no idea how to preserve food. When I was a child we would go canning veggies at my grandparents for entire weekends. Preserving food, especially for 10 people, takes a ton of work and organization. Plus, she doesn't even cook with veggies, it's always pastas and junk food. She only has one video in the last 2 months with over 100k views... I'll be amazed if they don't announce a 9th child by the end of 2021.

On the golf cart thing... In a vlog a few weeks back, CR was talking about a trailer for the four-wheeler and said that it was great how the kids were able to attach it on their own. I think he slipped. Of course the kids ride the golf cart and the four wheeler. After the Benji incident with the water, nothing will surprise me.

Did anyone else catch Ashleigh's Instagram post announcing her departure from social media? I'm inclined to consider that a good thing and am not entirely surprised, but I can't help but wonder what prompted it. She's good about not stirring the pot too much and putting people at ease, but this is on the heels of her sudden hiatus, unexpected pregnancy, and all this speculation around the trajectory of her sister's channel.

I didn’t see anything about quitting anything. I figured maybe it would be knowing when to quit working on the office alone, or something about getting an assistant, something. But there was zero. Unless I missed it nothing about quitting! I am used to click bait titles that loosely associate with content, but I. This case I got nothing?

I can't believe that I watched that rubbish either - why on earth they are going against her dad's advice and doing the cabin roof themselves is just stupidity. Good for content I guess though if CR breaks his neck.

I think Ashleigh doesn't want to face criticism for her life choices (having a 8th baby after proclaiming wanting to foster, freebirthing, adding to the family despite finacial hardships...). I imagine that may be a reason for withdrawing from social media. Also she alluded to having mental health issues with this pregnancy. I get wanting to get Rid of something that is not helping you with that...

Yes, this was nuts because it was clickbait without a payoff, there was nothing. It was obvious she wasn’t quitting social media, but what was it? Building your own shed roof? Adding more animals? Eating tacos every Tuesday? There was another recent video with an ambiguous title, taking 2 steps forward, one step back, where I don’t think the issue was ever mentioned. There was issues with the shed build, that was probably it, but it wasn’t clear. It’s not my house, but they could have just found a house with more rooms to have a dedicated office. She wouldn’t be able to escape her kids, but it makes more sense.

When YouTube and the FTC/COPPA started the family channel regulations/crackdowns she quickly grew her Angela Braniff channel and repetitively saying “This Gathered Nest” was not FOR kids and it was minimal in just how the kinds were involved and whatnot. From a pure business standpoint it made sense, she was potentially on the verge of losing her livelihood and she quickly adjusted to ensure survival.

Then it seems she kind of liked the new branding/direction. Also, while we’ve speculated the details we don’t fully know what happened around Bejni’s birth but it really seemed to impact her. She seemed to have trusted in society and an illusion of boundaries/privacy that she realized didn’t really exist.

I think it’s left her in a rough spot. The content that grew her brand is no longer what she (they?, I don’t know it seems even CR may be a bit less open) want to put out. But this is her business, and she seems to want to continue as a content creator/guru of sorts. So now she (IMO) is treading water live trying to figure out how to hold an audience, stick with her/their adjusted comfort zone of content/privacy, grow her brand, not break new regulations- all while providing an income AND doing it live without much an option to slow down and figure it out (although I will say from a year or so ago the content has slowed down, it is still consistent and not giving her a “break).

I enjoyed her channel/content more previously. Not because of the kids but because it felt more authentic than where we are now.

We can all look and give our own opinions on what she could do to circle back closer to better content/more authenticity- but we are also not the ones scrambling with this new life, and adjusted brand while making adjustments in real time.

I get why she’s struggling and very much hope she’s able to find solid footing soon as far as what they feel comfortable with while not throwing out some of what got them to where they are.

Yes, it's definitely a difficulty in trying to keep the audience but with different content since the YT changes. The original content of just her didn't get views, the kids, adoption and day to day family stuff did. Now it's her showing limited photos and clips of the house and animals. It's an awkward place trying to show enough whilst holding back everything she used to make content about. For years it seemed an equal mix of her talking about parenting topics mixed with family vlogs. CR quit his job for that and helped but he's more absent too. His recording was vlogging the kids when she was out so I guess there's consequently no reason for him to film now. He was a bit more real and entertaining so it's a shame.

She was really annoyed about the changes and chose to use her private family experiences for content to get where she is so I dislike her trying to pretend there are no changes in that respect and she's got some moral high ground and she's not there going with whatever is the best financial decision. Viewers are money to her so she needs to quit with the community/friends BS. As soon as there's a sponsorship the kids are all there for it so the whole thing has lost authenticity because she follows the money.

I'm not sure what she's doing, seems she's trying to emulate those very boring 'slow living' lifestyle channels but her personality is too much for that. Then she's trying to jump on cooking but her food is basic and doesn't look appetising. Maybe cr needs to go back to work, but then she's moved them out and maybe has too many kids and animals now to do it without him full time. Could they run a riding school or sell off or rent some of the land for income. She doesn't seem to enjoy YT now but is trapped trying to navigate it for the sake of maintaining their lifestyle. Maybe she gives all her energy to her private group subscribers (built off the back of her family content) and that is funding them?

She has the manager so I wonder what or even if they suggest anything, or if they just deal with the sponsorships?

I think the kids are also hitting that age where they don’t want to be as much a part of filming anymore. I can’t help but be taken slightly aback by Jonah’s aggressive nature. He’s just a little boy, but he probably needs more structure and maybe a social activity. I would hate to be in Angie’s shoes, trying to keep this machine going, but keeping her family well and happy. I also think she is tired of putting up a facade, and is just letting things go, like that shot in her last vlog of the kids tearing across the property in the golf cart. The pandemic hit her hard, emotionally, and all these distractions of a new home only go so far.

Well said. A lot of the family vloggers seem to be struggling for views (and therefore income) at the moment. It seems weird to me that they just don't get realistic about making money filming their kids coming to an end and re-join the real world by getting normal jobs? What did CR used to do? No one wants to listen to Angie talk for almost the whole length of every vlog - the throwing money thing to make an instant farm/ homestead doesn't interest me either.

She's clearly trying to shift her content from her kids because of youtube restrictions and also because her kids are getting older but it's looking a bit messy. I might be in the minority here but I love her animal related content. I do feel like it's becoming very monotonous. I honestly can't take another lenghty explanation about fencing or the pastures...

I didn't mind the animal stuff but I hated hated hated the stupid voice she used when talking to them. The kissing the llamas on the lips thing also makes me want to throw up. (And the fencing - everyone is so sick of that)
