Her new video, 'how to raise baby chicks', is so Angie. She's that person who's always the expert of everything. I'm not saying she shouldn't share what she's doing, but in the video it sounds like she's trying to educate people instead of sharing her experience as she goes. Phil from Phil and Alex did the same with his maple syrup video. If you don't know her and watch this video, you might think she's done that time and time again, so you follow her advice. It's a bit dishonest imo

I find a lot of youtubers do this. They video themselves doing something and "teaching" their viewers, all while doing it for the first time!

It does seem strange to be giving a lecture on something you've had no training or experience in, your typical aware person wouldn't do that. I guess youtubers need content and can't see through the haze of narcissism. She hadn't even picked the chicks up when she recorded her lecture? A much better approach would be 'this is what i've read in XYZ book/told by an experienced friend/seen on other YTs' and then take us along as they set it up, and then share how it's going. To just sit there telling everyone what to do as though you have an in-depth knowledge when you've literally never done it once yourself is really silly and a bit arrogant. They already said they know nothing but if they see that criticism they'll backtrack.

She told everyone to keep children and pets away because the chicks can die instantly (she repeated that so many times incase it happens so it won't shock viewers), and then have her toddler crying throughout and dog walking around once the chicks arrived is a tad hypocritical.

Shame she didn't rehome some chickens who were going to be killed for not producing enough eggs, but of course she had to get day old babies.

i know this is the least of ashleigh's terrible parenting choices but the names hazel and mabel are far too similar.

According to the latest vlog, they’re now naming the baby Betty, which is approximately 1000x worse than Mabel.

Nicole must be family thiugh, its one of the twins middle names.

Nicole is Ashleigh’s (and Ivy’s) middle name. I think they’ve exhausted most of the family names. All of Ashleigh’s kids have two syllable first names, so I’m assuming it’s just Betty.

I watched the new vlog regarding the ducks, I don’t really have words to describe how I felt after that. Somewhat horrified, sad, kind of bewildered. It was a weird experience. I will say it was really bizarre to see a clickbait title and thumbnail used for an animal, not a child. I felt really bad for Angie, but why would she think it was a good idea to order chicks for mail delivery, especially when she could have got them locally? I guess they wouldn’t have been all female and the fancy breeds she wanted, but whatever. I’m getting a little sick of all these vanity pets, that all have to be exactly what she wants, with the goofy, matchy names that I’m sure she has the final decision in choosing.

She mentioned many times how all of her children came in groups of two, so she needs to do the same with her animals... I always thought that was funny because Rosie came alone, same with Benji. She's being very maternal with that baby duck, more than with her children. She just doesn't seem very affectionate in general with her kids.

That insta comment was deleted, but it speaks the truth.

It’s been posted that other have noticed her becoming more defensive about her content/kids, trolls, judgement, etc

No doubt the internet and especially in the last couple years can be a rough spot.

In her last Q&A it felt like she was less light hearted and almost angry?

Like she was politely answering questions but she was quite defensive in her answers. The podcast being a risk for saying too much, kids privacy, people not being entitled to know more, her showing a tiny fraction of her life and how most of her life isn’t online, etc

I personally don’t disagree with anything she said, but how can one really make a living online while battling these issues? They are rather all in when it comes to her career being the thing that supports them. I can’t imagine that pressure WHILE feeling the emotions she seems to regarding privacy/judgment/etc.

She seems almost "happy" that the duck seems to be "special needs"... Honestly, she just needs to take care of people/animals... It's just beginning t be too much.

Its because she needs to be special. Nothing can be regular. I'm not calling her a liar but her pregnancies had to be the worst ever, each adoption had to be different. International, domestic, special needs, embryo etc... now her animals can't be normal animals.. they have to be sick or special ordered CRITTERS.

I noticed she addressed most of the criticism about herself online in all her future vlogs. At least she's admitting she knows nothing, spelling out who inspired her instead of preaching. Even blogging about all her sources. Well done Angie Now we're getting homeschool and vlogs out the house, it feels a little more like the good old videos.

She jumps on bandwagons, anything that's trending that she could apply to her family and get views from. She's always jumping from one thing to another copied from others to make money. Printables are the latest, even though she makes the most basic things people could make way better in 5 minutes themselves.
