8 Passengers | Part One
Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
And Russell loves school. Wasn't he crying in one vlog because school was canceled that day or something? They never seem to be hanging out with other families and kids or doing any activities that involve the kids socializing with people other than family. I know it is their decision to make but I still feel bad for Russell.

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I agree, my little boy is very much like Russell. He's very sensitive, very placid and very sweet. My son LOVES going to school and he looooves playing with other kids. I don't really understand why she would want to homeschool Russell, I feel like it will set him back socially and it will make it harder for him to make friends his age when he does start school. This is the age when kids build friendships.red3head wrote:And Russell loves school. Wasn't he crying in one vlog because school was canceled that day or something? I think if they did more with their kids besides school and music lessons it would make more sense, but it's not like they have a jam packed social calendar where Russell will be playing with kids his age.
Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
This may have been discussed already but I feel like chad was being homeschooled because he was being a bully in school and probably obnoxious in class interrupting the teacher and not listening. Ruby mentioned behaviour issues and teaching him not to follow his friends if they do something bad ect.
Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
Isn't Russell only 4? Is his school now just preschool? So wouldn't Ruby just be homeschooling for kindergarten? I think it'd be a better idea to leave him in like half day/part time preschool for another year so he still gets social interaction and can learn and then homeschool on kindergarten topics for the rest of the time. That's way he'd be much better prepared to enter school the coming year. Lots of people hold their kid back an extra year before kindergarten if they aren't quite ready, especially if their birthday is near the cut off. A year home with just mommy and Eve is not going to do him any good though.

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I agree. I think his birthday is in July. So he'll be 5 before the kindergarten deadline but will be the very youngest in his grade. My August daughter is in the same boat and we are doing another year of preschool so she has more time to mature. Russell really seems like the kind of kid who should be in an actual school setting with peers.liz749 wrote:Isn't Russell only 4? Is his school now just preschool? Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I agree. I don't understand how he would benefit from being stuck at home with Ruby and Eve. It strikes me as punitive. He would do well to continue in pre-school and/or some form of daycare to help him prepare for school.liz749 wrote:Isn't Russell only 4? Is his school now just preschool? Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
I don't think anyone would blink an eye if she kept him in preschool for another year. Keeping him stuck in that depressing house with her and the brat Eve for a year is so horrible. Poor Russell.

Oy, Chad cleaning & walking on the roof at Jennifer's in socks and flip-flops in today's vlog made me so so nervous.

Re: 8 Passengers: Part One
The shoes he was wearing were in no way appropriate to wear while working on the roof. Athletic shoes would be a much better choice in my opinion. It is a safety issue.Mallabow wrote:How is that inappropriate ?

8 Passengers: Part One
Wow Julie crying and nervous when ruby asked to see what she packed. She was scared her mom wouldn't let her take her comfort stuffy. Says A LOT.
Growing up with a narc dad I used to cry everytime I was nervous around him even if it was something small. I can just feel Julie's anxiety. Ugh makes me sad.
Also this girl was in Ellie's and rubys video. No. Just no to this hair. I don't mind a half bun but not when it like a legit top not/slicked back all tight

Yeah, Julies reaction about the stuffed animal was very strange. Makes me wonder if ruby has an explosive temper behind doors or something.

Julie usually looks like she is suffering from anxiety to me. She keeps her head down and makes slow, deliberate movements and tends to be speak slowly, with great care so as not to offend. I am surprized that Ruby didn't know of Julie's need for this stuffed toy. Does she not look in on her children or at least tuck them in and kiss them goodnight? I admit I was startled when Ruby popped off with, "Who ate the fruit snacks?" Wtf? You're doing a video that tens if thousands of people are going to see. Control yourself Ruby. Fruit snacks don't last, kids love them! Leave it to Ruby to make snacks a bone of contention when they are meant to be free-flowing. I've had all I can stand of these weekly trips to her mother's house. And seeing Ellie turned my stomach as well. I agree with you about that woman's top-notch, not a good look.
