I would check out Jenna and Julien podcast about the topic. Jenna marbles is one of the top you tubers and isn't part of a network (there is some language, but it's really interesting)loopdeloop wrote:These companies also provide some level of protection to YTers. Remember when Katie from K and C lost her KatieOnTheFlipSide channel? Someone had reported it. Since she wasn't represented on that channel, getting it back it was very hard. If you profit off a channel, you don't want to lose it because of some glitch or false reports.lmmomSD wrote:I'm not sure that _now_ it's going to affect them too much, except that Bryan may have to actually go out and deal with the sponsors himself. But early on, they do facilitate getting sponsors, knowing what their target audience is, actually getting funding for some things, merch, etc. They're already signed with Fullscreen as well, so maybe they'll just move their main channel over, or decide they'd rather keep the 30-40%.Playsinrain wrote:Ive been gone for a week for spring break, but i just have a question... All these vloggers being dropped by Maker. What does a network DO anyway?? I know the vloggers have to pay them a % of their income, but for what? What do they provide? Would a channel REALLY need a network that was taking their money? Would someone like DB with the subs and views they have really suffer without a network? I'm just confused as to what they do and if its really worth it.
