it's not the worst campaign I've seen (I had a Facebook friend start one so he could buy a brand new truck).Blackswan wrote:What's your stance on gofundmeddon ?OhHiImSam wrote:Hi.Blackswan wrote:Isn't there someone who continuously defends Brittany here?
10,000 is too much right now. I mean, at this point it's just the screening to see if he has something, right? Too many pages to catch up on. 1500 to 2500 would be enough to cover the costs of the procedure, imo.
It would be fine, to me, if he was diagnosed with something serious and the money would account for those procedures as well as the loss of income from work. At least, that's how I've seen these 10,000 dollar funds. My cousin was in a head-on collision a couple years ago and has had to have multiple surgeries on his leg. My aunt didn't start the GFM campaign (which I think was about 10,000 dollars) until after his first surgery and they had an idea of how much they owed, how many follow ups were needed, how long he'd be in physical therapy, and how he wouldn't be able to return to work for about three months, if at all.
I don't think there are sleazy intentions, but Britney just doesn't know how much the initial procedure is going to cost and didn't do research to calculate what would actually be a good goal to set. Which, her "degree" is in hospital administration? So, she should know how to look into that kind of stuff. And it is weird because she's said she wouldn't do a GFM for Nolan so...
tl;dr
10,000 dollars is asking too much at this moment because if he's fine, what are they going to do with the excess money once the hospital bill is paid for?
